I see people complaining about Bestech knives being too similar, I'm going to assume those people make the same complaint against spyderco.
Mt. Baldwin Lol. That’s a good one !
Really like this one-- very very nice grinds on these knives. Kool design. Thanks LTK.
I really like the Paladin's nested liners and thus thinner handle profile, I wish more knives would be designed w/ the nested liners like this and the PM2 than the fat thick blocky handle liners.
Thats and sliiiightly shorter handle. Just barely
thats gorgeous! ill have to have that one!
thanks for bringing it.
Another solid design from Bestech. I do agree with you about the choil needing to be a bit larger, though that is not a deal breaker for me. Nice review LTK!
Definitely getting this one LTK. I like it better than the Scimitar.
Happen to see this knife on a YT review of two different knives last night. They just happen to bring this one in for a quick comparison. As soon as I saw it I was like WOW...fantastic looking knife. This is what I've been waiting for. D2, ceramic, beautiful look and inexpensive. Ordered it on Amazon and arrives tomorrow. Very excited.
Stephen Gunnoe Good deal.
I was torn between this Bestech & their Penguin. I went with the Penguin. This one is next. Great review, Lee! I'm binge watching LTK for Labor Day weekend fun!
It's a beauty! It reminds me a lot of the Ruike P121 Hussar. Btw, the Paladin is on Massdrop now for $39.99.
Bestech is one of my favorite brands now. This is a great knife.
Gorgeous folding knife. Bestech are running at the forefront, equated with Ruike and both skyrocketed on the top.
Regards.
I got the Bestech Scimitar and the Kendo (love them both) and I naturally like this as well.
I do prefer a deep carry clip on mine though.
Would love to see smaller 3" and 3.25" options from them as well.
Cheers!
ATech Reviews The Thorn and Lion are 3” and 3.3” respectively. I own a Lion and a Kendo.
LTK- You had to say Persian. Now I have to get one. This one looks like a real winner.
Very nice!
Thanks LTK.
Paladin? Where have I heard that before?
Oh, that's right. He was a professional gunfighter. Paladin was a West Point graduate, who after the Civil War, settled into San Francisco's Hotel Carlton. Were he awaited responses to his business card. Over the picture of a chess knight "Have Gun, Will Travel ... Wire Paladin, San Francisco."
: - )
Looks like a Lion and a Kendo had a kid. Liking the inset liners. My black Paladin is on its way. 👍🏽🔪
Nice knife,I like it.
Very good knife because handle ^^
I have the lion, the scimitar, the spike, and the paladin. Yes there are similarities, but all have differences and all are well made.
Bestech is showing a variety lately with the rhino, toucan, and the hornet. I think the paladin is their best knife but the rhino is my favorite.
Great review! Except for the Swordfish which is a beautiful blade, this blade is way too similar to the other bestech knives but it's probably going to be more expensive than the Scimitar.
If bestech hopes to compete with the likes of Real Steel, they should think of designing a more robust working/outdoorsy type blade.
There are way too many flipper toys on the market atm. Time to think outside the box.
Max- What about the Goblin and Imp? Pretty unique. They should probably do a budget version of those knives given the success of of the CRKT Pilar.
MrGeerbear Sorry for the late reply. Yeah the Goblin is a lil ripper alright but not very practical for me. I'm a tradesman and I'm looking for a useful companion for my beloved Rat 1. I was just saying that Bestech is going too much down the "pocket jewellery" path. They should come up with a proper work blade as well.
Cheers mate!
Have you checked out the Civivi knives from WE? I ordered a praxxis can't wait to get it... its not D2 though.. but the usual chinese stainless.
I want one.
Gotta have one! Unfortunately, I've already gone thru my knife budget for the month. Damn you, ebay! :)
Mike Uman lol me too!
Own the lion and scimatar, quality is great for something different I'm going for that Tuya bruiser that you reviewed. What do you think LTK ? Thanks Harry
Harry Wright The Tuyaknife Bruiser is definitely a great choice.
I'm trying to choose between bestech's paladin, and Spike. I have scimitar, lion, keno, and swordfish. They look so similar in pictures I've seen, how would you separate the two?
Good stuff!
You should get a Green Thorn Shirogorov Jeans clone!Best clone i bought to date.
Peter Jongsma Don’t tell anyone but I’ve got one on order.
look like Ruike Hussar
The gap between the back of the blade and g10 when closed really bugs me. Not sure the exact term for that but it always bugs me when it doesn’t cover when closed
I love this design! I think your Scimitar x Kendo love child analogy is spot on too lol. Any word recently from Bestech or White Mountain on a release date?
D Kim Word is that they should arrive very soon. So anytime now.
Thanks, they're hopefully somewhere en route to dealers. This and the new Ruike P865 wharncliffe are 2 recent knives I immediately decided I had to get when I first saw them.
southern grind?
Have you had any of these Bestechs with the hidden liners apart?
Huge fan of their knives, own almost all of the G10 line, and it's the two with the hidden liners, made of a thinner stamped steel, that I find have way too weak of a detent.
ie: can easily shake them open, making it an issue for carrying with gravity assist opening laws.
Bending in the lockbar to try to add more tension does nothing to solve the issue either. I feel like there's just not enough stiffness to the steel used in these liners.
Kavik79 I’ve had both styles apart. With and without hidden liners. I like the ones with the liners showing better. They just seem more sturdy.
LuvThemKnives Agreed, definitely feels sturdier overall, but the metal for the liners/lock specifically seem much higher quality steel and a higher level finish.
I wrote that mid way through the video, then saw you say you couldn't shake this one out, which is great to hear. But it still seems too coincidental to me on the other two I have having such a weak detent.
Maybe some day I'll fiddle with the hole and see if it makes a difference, but I'm kinda worried about making it worse instead of better
I would prefer this over the titanium high end knives for some reason. And no it is not money.
Great review as always brother. As far as I know they will come in black, tan, and orange not sure about any others. Well brother hope your having a great day talk to you later
Stassa23 Thanks. Hope all is well with you....now get busy and get me a Bestech Hornet ! Those are crazy good looking !
LuvThemKnives i have a set ok knives on the way and I’m hoping the Hornet and a few other new models are in there I’ll definitely let you know
Can it banish evil?
Kar Lizen Yes
Do more hogue knifes sir
B-rad Rad I like the Hogue Knives. I’m getting ready to do one on the X5
That'll be like your 5th video on the X5 lol
Kar Lizen Yes. My favorite model. I did one on the microflip and another on the EX01
