I used to think that music kept getting worse as the years went by, but I've come to realize that there has always been great music and terrible music. We hear everything in the present, good and bad. But from the past, we forget all that bad and only remember the good. That's what makes it seem like the quality is declining. For all the great songs that come out year after year, there are a dozen equally terrible ones.
