I also felt that squeezing in an evil alternate version of himself for Miles to fight was too much. But that nickname you came up with got the hardest laugh out of me!
get better standards, LITERALLY the entire plot is a plot hole. Not just because the villain is a passive-aggressive metaphor for the fanbase poking plot holes in the writing and threatening to destroy the universe for not staying in canon. But because it supposedly is contingent on miles staying in canon even though he was not supposed to be spiderman to begin with so none of his life would be in canon...on top of that universe 42 still exists despite NEVER HAVING HAD SPIDERMAN AT ALL... Man, they did the animators dirty with this one Jokes aside though, animation is no easy task (obviously), but once you have a finished product that has smooth and interesting cohesion with each scene, it is SO WORTH IT at the end of the day. Lord and Miller have achieved the impossible with this sequel and raised the bar even higher and the craziest part is that it, of course, doesn't stop there. The delay just means the stress will not end anytime soon 😆
😬
Depends on how much of the script is done. If they don't have a script with the writers strike and all they can't start anyway.
@@dragonhunterx5929 based on the fact that Beyond was set to release in May before the delay, the script should be mostly done by that point.
I think it got delayed _because_ of the mass quitting and strikes lol, but I guess technically still true?
These were two of the best superheroes movies ever. Both awesome from beginning to end.
3:24 That pissed me off because they specifically said he would be in it! There was even a perfect moment during the Spider Chase where he could have shown up in Leopardon.
He was in the trailer doing the pulling 2 things together thing
0:49 can verify I was off the meds when I saw this and I did not regret it
Finally watched this and completely forgot this was a "Part 1", so the cliffhanger left me--hanging! I hope the next film reaches completion, but not at the cost of the well beings of the writers, actors, and other production staff.
Considering all the strikes going on, there's a decent chance that they'll have to be treated better for the sequel. Or that we just won't get Part 2 at all because the execs would rather do that than treat their workers like actual people.
I got my fingers crossed for them and the conclusion to the story!
I didn't even know it was a two-parter going in. And I got so immersed in the story, the movie only had like 8 min left before I realized. Don't think I ever got so frustrated by a cliffhanger before, which just goes to show how good it was.
@@JeeVeeHaych That's a mood. XD I only had the slightest inkling that there was gonna be a cliffhanger when I saw them assembling Gwen's team and I went "wait...Oh don't you DAR-" and then the cliffhanger dropped.
The only complaint I have about the movie. XD
@@AegixDrakan Same XD I was almost yelling at my screen, like 'No you don't!'
@@AegixDrakan so no complaints about the 8 month pregnant motorcycle karate master, or the fact that miles universe depends on canon life events that have nothing to do with him because he wasn't supposed to be spiderman to begin with? No problem with the fact that universe 42 still exists despite never having a spiderman at all to have the supposedly critical canon events with?
How about the villian being a not so subtle metaphor for the fanbase? you know poking holes in the writing, threatening to destroy the universe if things don't remain in canon...Being a total loser that suddenly becomes a major threat to the future of everyone involved.
I'm blown away by people thinking this movie was good. It was colorful and distracting enough for most people not to notice the writers all have room temperature IQ's but think they are geniuses.
1:55 LOLOLOLOL Almost spat out my coffee! "Friend-Zoned"! Death by Friend-Zoning.
The subtitle reading Bri'ish voice is sublime
That Ditko remark hit hard.
Give your animators manageable deadlines, better oat, and consistent goals
I will say, the Spiderman movies have far more going for them than a lot of other super hero movies and they are consistently fun.
3:30 YES Takuya needs to be a main character in the next. His mech is gonna come in clutch, just wait
Unfortunately, the position of Spider-Mech pilot is already filled by Penny, not that it automatically disqualifies Takuya from filling some other position.
@@h0m3st4rwell I mean the position of using a gun is taken by webslinger
@@theworm7156 That may be. The difference between Takuya and most others is that he's a live action TV character instead of an animated one.
@@h0m3st4r they did put mcu prowler in so maybe they’ll do like the same thing, although it probs would be really weird if he was there for a lot of the movie so maybe he’ll be made into animation
I honestly was worried about this theme and they did it so damn well. Still love the first one more, but woah, this was fun. And their relationship is so damn sweet.
1:05 the animators has to get physical and mental therapy after this movie was finished, which caused Beyond the Spider-Verse to get delayed until 2026
Just watched this movie on blu-ray, the best way to describe this movie is....EPIC! The humor, the drama, and the action were all spot on (no pun intended). I will say it did end on one hell of a cliffhanger, I really hope when this Writer's Strike ends, we can get "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse". I'm already impatient to see how this series ends.
The cliffhanger at the end of the movie was so mean but so well done lol
My entire theater let out a collective groan
Seriously, you shouldn't have to know the movie production to know that this was going to be a part 1. It's a marketing fail
@@LoudCity025 eh. I enjoy surprises. We don’t need to be handed everything.
@@LoudCity025 oh me personally I already knew it was going to happen but just from my perspective and how they pulled it off it was fantastic
That ending credits music and animation really massaged away the pain though, right?
"The RC Cola of Movie Studios" - LOL! That is such a perfect description for Sony. Funny AF!
SAY WITH YOUR EPIC VOICE: The Blue Beetle movie is the best thing that came out from DC this year since Tomboy Lois Lane.
Pixie cut = tomboy ?
Smallville Lois was 10× more of a tomboy than MAWS's version and she looked stereotypically girl-next-door by late 2000s standards.
@@thembanitheoneI'm just slightly bummed out that one episode with the Lois Lane league, didn't cover the live action ones.
'Angst machine who'll friendzone you to death.'
Ouch. Too funny. XD
Literally surprised us with "Pocket Sand!" at the end. Johnny Hardwick would've been proud. RIP. o7
I also felt that squeezing in an evil alternate version of himself for Miles to fight was too much. But that nickname you came up with got the hardest laugh out of me!
Say: "bro, it's a canon event."
The "Huey vs Riley thing"; I didn't even SEE that! Love it!
Me too!
This really is the current best Spider-Man movie I ever seen
get better standards, LITERALLY the entire plot is a plot hole.
We are better off with ChatGPT.
@@TheNitroG1enjoy being apart of the 3%
Anyways, it’s either this or Spider-Man 2 for best one IMO
Across the Spider-verse is probably the greatest cinematic experience in my life. I could not believe that Into the Spider-verse was bettered somehow.
Gwen: If you don’t wear that badge, then someone who shouldn’t will.
Gwen’s Dad: That was so touching… I quit being a cop 😀
Finally someone that agrees with me! I hope Takuya appears in part 2!
Man, they did the animators dirty with this one
Jokes aside though, animation is no easy task (obviously), but once you have a finished product that has smooth and interesting cohesion with each scene, it is SO WORTH IT at the end of the day.
Lord and Miller have achieved the impossible with this sequel and raised the bar even higher and the craziest part is that it, of course, doesn't stop there.
I think most of us can relate to beginning/planning a really ambitious creative project only for it too not meet expectation because of said ambitions being too high
This movie basically just goes to show that it can be done with a great amount of patience and talent and the whole team are amazing for reaching the end goal.
I don't think most people can relate to beginning/planning a really ambitious creative project, no. Most humans are not creating all the time. We're too busy consuming to create.
@@Kris_AB understandable, i did kind of go on a little bit of a rant when i said that, we all arguably consume more pieces of media than we do creating our own things. There's no real even balance between both those things
It was worth a 100 people burning out?
The “I’m rooting for everybody arach” one was deep
Yes! It took me a minute to catch on but once I did I couldn’t stop laughing.
2:53 😂 no they do like Huey and Riley
THANK GOD! Someone else caught that Prowler Miles looked like Riley from 'The Boondocks'.
Sucks that we have to wait so long for the final part :(
Probably another 5 yesrs
The lives of the animators are way more important.
It's worth it.
That Emily Thwippinson credit for Gwen was pure genius. Surprised no one brought it up in the comments
3:00 that was the point. Lord and miller have said across was a spot origin story and beyond is supposed to be his movie
1:13 not the Abed reference in a meta-style movie commentary 😭😭
I love you guys
At this point, I'd argue that Spider-Gwen is the best superheroine depicted on film.
On another note, I like that you pointed out that Luna Lauren Velez, who is Rio's VA, played a cop in the New York Undercover TV Series.
Ohhhh, I thought they showed us her from Dexter.
I still hear the Sax from the theme song to that show lol
Maybe Barbara Gordon in Lego Batman.
She cleaned up Blüdhaven using statistics and compassion.
she was also in the new transformers movie too
@@darynvoss7883 I liked Barbara Gordon in Lego Batman but she does not quite have the depth of Spider-Gwen in the Spider-Verse films.
Thank you for recognizing the Emissary of Hell! I would love to see Leopardon show up!
I'd have lost my sh*t if they put Japanese Spiderman in there 😆 he's the GOAT.
In the first they used the artsy splash frames for key moments, and in this it was like an art induced seizure.
Most of the movie isn’t flashing colors at all
Please do an Honest Trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
Double-billed with MI: Dead Reckoning Part One
5:26 nice Duran Duran reference
There are two kinds of people
1. Who love the ending
2. Who hate the ending
Then,
There's the kind of people who understood the ending and realized it was only Part 1.
And I have always been that kind of person myself.
3. Who haven’t seen the ending
But I both love and hate the ending. What does that make me? Some sort of... anomaly?
@@masonhenderson0221 Maybe.
If you see it that way.
I’m the second one (because the movie needed an ending).
Lmfaoooo love that Debbie Downer ending ❤ the Disneyland skit with Lohan was the best
“The perfect combo of latino smoulder and Irish rage!” 🤣 My official description of Miguel from now on😂
This movie is like a cousin you barely know suddenly give you a Ferrari they stole for your birthday. Our 9-to-5 brain aren't equipped to comprehend all this
2:41 Um, hello? MOON KNIGHT??? I know he's a comic book hero, but he has Dissociative Identity Disorder. And that post-credit scene pretty much guaranteed that he's going to be the villain next season.
yeah, miles is an alt gwen. at least i think so based on the cop dad bit.
Yo I literally spit up my drink at
“LoFi hip hop beats to fight to”
you wildin 🤣
The Dratch gag at the end is Chef's Kiss.
Part 2... Coming... in a decade or two.
Considering the strikes and how the execs just aren't budging? That's a distinct possibility, yeah.
But if it means we get a conclusion without severe human cost, it'll be worth it.
“this angst machine will friendzone you to death”😭😭💀 1:53
they actually have character design for the leopardon, so i imagine they did intend to use supaidaman. maybe they could secure rights or it just didnt fit the story that was changed twice.
So it might be in Beyond?
@@gavichealsomething2169I hope so
If Spider-Man has a cop mentality he's technically a DC character
Among all the animated superhero franchises, hardly anyone has managed to achieve the level of excellence exhibited by Spider-Man.
Batman Ninja was pretty cool.
3:27 We were lied to by internet movie scoopers!
You did a wonderful trailer while not even talking about :
The masterful musics ! Like seriously, this is the type of movie, where you're infintely headbanging on your seat like an idiot, but this is too good to contain yourself
Also the mind-blowing level of DETAILS that this movie just never end ! This is literally The Witcher 3 level if this was a game.
I was completely out of dopamine for a day after watching that movie.
They aren't time cops, they are just space cops. They may run between universes, but they cannot pick a time. They just go to the "present" of that universe.
Thank you for calling out Huey and Riley!!! Awesome.
The best animated movie for this year. I watched this whole movie without checking my phone for time/ messages. I was lost in this animated world and the story.
Oh congratulations, you managed to not pick up your phone for more than a 5 minute span.
the kilometers morales , is the best name I've seen
Those animators better get so much money
