I feel like this is a reference I don't quite get, to the point that it just feels more like an insult to Luigi himself given the things Casey Affleck has been accused of supposedly doing.
@@MusicoftheDamned nah it's just how Casey is always overshadowed by his brother Ben
@@JohnnyBNerdy Ah. I somewhat figured that was joke, but given that ironically I have only ever heard opposite (at least in terms of actual acting), I wasn't sure. Thanks.
They already used it for the smash bros honest trailer. With even (isn't Ben) written
“So now we’re stuck with Chris Pratt for all eternity”
Aquafina: “Mind if I join in?”
Third time is the charm for Nintendo making a great feature film.
*Mission accomplished.*
Detective Pikachu was pretty good
@@Supherodude i think he was referring to the wizard and the 1993 movie, people have completely forgotten about detective pikachu for some reason.
that movie suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed
@@Charles12 I actually remember that film really... Folks still wished Danny DeVito voiced Detective Pikachu.
Mission was NOT accomplished. If making a film that appeals only to children under 7, then i guess so. They didn't write a film to appeal to the tens of millions of adults that grew up with Mario. They could have written a film that appeals to every age (a la Toy Story). Instead, they ignored adults almost completely. The dialogue and jokes were for tiny children, like stuff out of an old joke book. I was sooooo bored, and couldn't wait for it to be over.
2:33 Wait, I thought BOB, Mantis and "live-action" Pumba were in that one scene of the Rescue Rangers movie because of their eyes, they also all share a voice actor with Bob the Viking?
Super Cash Bros is a fantastic standard Mario maker level film. I enjoyed every moment of this film.
“An Einstein-Rosen bridge? Thanks Thor!” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I laughed way too hard at that part!!!
Amazing, for all it's faults, this movie reminded me how much more I would have liked the first Sonic film if it washed itself more in the wildness of the game world rather than the boring of the human world. And that this movie reminded me what a missed opportunity it was to not embrace music from the games more because man does that get you more immersed. And I'm saying the first movie, since it isn't fair to compare with the second that was learning from before.
The Mario Movie is not just some generic kids movie. It's a video game movie that celebrates all things Mario and is meant for ALL Mario fans, young and old.
He is an Italian FROM Brooklyn who is very obviously at least a second generation american his accent would lean more Brooklyn New York than hammed up Italian. People really need to drop the accent complaint and be happy he didnt go all stereotype then there would be a whole other group complaining about how "problematic" Pratt is.
Yeah why would we want him to sound exactly like every game he has ever been a part of the past 30 years that had voices for him.....oh wait.....
They literally did the voices right in the commercial and should've just kept them the entire movie but instead needed name recognition instead so went with big name actors. They were the only two in the entire movie that didn't fit their part too which is sad considering they are the two main names of a mario bros cast...
I've got to admit watching the movie made me emotional right at the end cause it took me back to my childhood, back when my little brother and I could escape our shitty neglectful reality through games
I saw it with my younger sister by 2 years in the theater and we both gushed over all the little things we remember in the games from our childhood.
Reallu proud of seth, he's come a long way since playing the gorilla that stole that dude's eye in the Congo movie. Much love from your high school bud, Seth
Wonder if i can get the epic voice to say. Your friendly neighborhood Aeropunk Sky Pirates Coalition. The sky isn't our limit.
Favorite joke was "More Slo Mo Shots than Zack Snyder Directing a Max Payne Movie."
That one KILLED ME! 😂😂😂
I won't be able to unsee it from now on.
My wife & I actually enjoyed watching this with our 5 year old daughter. A nice combination of 80s nostalgia & humor to make it work. It was also nice that they stuck with much of the source material from the game. 😊
He said what our local critic did: I didn't love it, but I'm sure if I took my kids, I'd have a blast watching them love it.
Props to you for the Peaches song reference “F*** the Pain Away”👌🏻😙
That was pretty amazing
We can all just agree that the end credits are the best part of this all.
Fair enough
No. We can not.
I didn’t care enough to even stay for the end credits.
@@mr.gameandwatch2018 Ugh...
Thank you so much for uploading this on my birthday! :D
Zack Snyder directing a Max Payne movie is actually a very interesting idea
Yay thank you for using my quote!!!! I love your vids!!!!
3:47 man the Smash logo made me lmao
Looked quite convincing too! Lol
"Starring" title for Luigi should have been Green Day.
Zack Snyder directing a Max Payne movie 😂 That one had me
3:48 😂 I’m dying.
I was taught that peaches comes from a can, they were put there by a man in a factory downtown.
What else are in the teaches of Peaches?
When that part about the slow-mo came up I thought of guardians 3 where the final battle felt like I was just playing a long quick time event sequence in a video game
Luigi being kidnapped instead of Princess Peach was unpredictable instead of predictable.
Good thinking from the writers and Nintendo.
in 2023? Probably the most predictable thing ever
Yes, it's not just unexpected hero rescues damsel. It gave Mario the drive to save somebody who's close to him and having help from Peach not only progresses the established image of Peach being an independent fighter but also gives Mario and Peach time to develop a relationship. Luigi still could have used a little more screen time, but it was a smart choice.
You know for anyone who's going to say "that's not like the game" then you may be interested to know there actually was a real nintendo game called Super Princess Peach where Peach rescues Mario.
Passed up the chance to have great back and forth for longer in the movie and seeing the Mario Bros do Mario Bros moves and assists.
@@catdogmousecheese Right. And in a movie called “Princess Peach” I’d expect to see what I saw in this film. The Mario series was almost exclusively “plumber rescues princess from monster”. It deviated from that formula for some entries, but that was the core of the series. Should have started with that, then branched off. For Mario to not be needed in his own movie is a shame.
Nice trailer, I liked how you mentioned how Seth Rogen and Kegan Michael Key voice a lot of characters, I was surprised Kegan voiced Sebastian St. Clair. I also like how you describe Cranky Kong and the movie. 🙂👍🍄
I'd like to think that the critic/audience divide just resulted in even more people watching it.
"the chris most likely to do his own research" had me ROLLING
It's so subtle yet so poignant
Lol same 😂 I was disappointed I had to scroll this far to find this comment tbh
I'm glad Charles Martinet got a cameo. Wahoo!
The Yoshi teaser at the very end is among the finer 1998 Godzilla jokes I've seen.
I had so much fun watching this movie. I hope this will lead into more fun video game adaptations. I'm hoping for Kirby and Ninja Gaiden down the road.
Ninja Gaiden? Fun? 😂
@@virgilhawkins5680 Sure. If it's rated R and has cool action sequences it could be fun. It's not like we're playing the game. That's hard work.
@@virgilhawkins5680 The problem is that Team Ninja may not be popular enough for that.
"The Chris most likely to 'do his own research'" - Oof. In fairness to Chris Pratt, he has expressed a positive view of COVID-19 vaccines. So who knows
"The Teaches of Peaches" - what a throwback haha
"I could eat a peach for hours" - love a Face/Off reference
I love this movie and its success, and I can't wait for the Donkey Kong spin-off.
And the sequel!
And possibly the Super Smash Bros Universe.
Hit it Illumination/Nintendo, I'm ready.
@@deensaid7762I still don't think a Nintendo cinematic universe would work
@@sonicfanboy3375 I think.
@@sonicfanboy3375 spoken like a true Sonic fanboy!
When he said “still lives with his mom” that’s when it made he question if they knew how much it actually cost to live in Brooklyn let alone 2023. It’s legit hard especially in New York city
Most fun I've ever had watching a movie with no plot. My 5 year old nephew absolutely loved it, and to be fair, it's definitely targeted to his age demographic
the fact that you were able to use the EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME Princess is just PRICELESS JaJaJa
Awesome trailer! YAHOO!! 🤩⭐
Best video game movie ever! Mostly cos Illumination actually used the source material. The lore, locations, references, easter eggs, and so much more! The movie isn't perfect, it has its issues, but it's still an adaptation done right at its core. And in the end that's all that matters. A fun theme park movie for everyone!
That line in Face/Off might be the best thing ever commit to film in John Woo's career.
Also, where''s my TMNT (1990) trailer? It's honestly one of the best adaptations to come out of the era and yet nothing. The well is dry.
This movie was definitely fun to watch. I've watched it 3 times now since I saw it in theaters. Yeah Rotten Tomatoes can suck it
woah woah woah woah.... was Mario playing *Kid Icarus* ?? Yes, I recognized it from a one second sound clip. I was always mad that Pit got left behind when Mario, Link, and Samus all became superstars.
I would kill for a Zack Snyder-directed Max Payne film (or better yet, a series)
In memory of Ray Stevenson, say "He's arrogant, he's reckless, he's dangerous!"
😂 I watched this on cinema with my niece and nephew, we were really enjoyed it. For once they completely awake after the credit scene,
"mario maker level" was exactly my thought when I saw this in the movie - and the "training montage" song
I've seen the film twice now digitally and it is a masterpiece. I love the orchestral pieces of game music, all of the various Easter eggs and how well it is put together. Sure, Seth Rogan wasn't the best choice for DK, but he still did a great job with the role. There really wasn't any weak voice acting IMO. The ending did remind me a bit of "MegaMind".
I dont know how old you are but the movie was not that good... and the voice acting wasnt bad but totally wrong and couldve been 10000 times better with different voices. Bowsers voice was great except for the times he broke into his normal jack black voice everytime he sang and ruined it.
These are so fun to watch. Keep up the good work!
4:00 I wish that was my kid!!
3:45 "The universe it's trying to jumpstart" proceeds to shows Super Smash Bros logo. I'M NOT LEAVING THIS PLANET UNTIL THE DAY I SEE A SUPER SMASH BROTHERS MOVIE!!!!😆
