Also, the EU was a convoluted mess by the time it was wiped. There was just so much shit, and they didn't want to cherry pick from the lore. It's understandable why the did what they did.
Literally none of it is "woke". They just included some more people of color and added more women to the cast. They weren't being woke at all. They just sort of got with the times, and realized the world wasn't as man dominated as it was in the 80s.
The Sequel trilogy is part of a problem that's existed since Return of the Jedi. It had terrible writing, and it was a recycled mess with a deus ex.

The book explains it much better. He started as a cadet as a type of internship that would look good on college applications so he could get into a good school and become a gym teacher. But he enjoyed his time with the cops so much, he just went to the Colorado police academy instead.

I can’t believe I really met him in real life at my job Chilis he was simply eating his food like anyone else then called me over and asked me if I read his book and I said I haven’t so he told me his story and gave me a copy since he lives in El Paso and I do as well it wasn’t unlikely for me to run across him but it was such a blessing meeting him and getting to hear his story from the source himself!!!🤯

I was stationed there in 82 never knew the klan was there. I was also stationed in Missouri and though I never ran into klansman there I did run into racist people. I use to hangout with another sgt that was puerto rican and one night we were at a diner and I could hear the people behind me talking about him. Unfortunately, I have an African American friend who excessively looks at KKK memes and shares some of their ideologies. So basically, he’s racist towards his own race.
