    Thank you for this video it was enjoyable to reproduce this Apron. The ladies from an seniors complex wanted an apron for their game night and this was perfect. I wanted to send you the pictures but cannot find a way :)

    For those of us who are "voluptuous" ladies, the 21" width might not be wide enough. I'm extending mine to 28" so the sides where my pens/pencils are fall on the sides rather than in front.
    Also, for those of us who are newbies, she mentions at 15:43 that you will need a larger needle -- a 14 or even a 16, to sew through the heavy layers.

      It is always good to make a tester and adjust according to your liking. No two individuals are the same and you need to make sure it works for you :) Hope you enjoy the process!

    For us new sewists, it would've been helpful to define "home dec" (which I thought was "home deck," as in outdoor furniture fabric). Luckily Joann's website has an entire "home dec" section that lists cotton duck, canvas, etc. so I know what type of material to get for my apron (I got cotton duck) and whether it will need stabilizer (according to the video, it doesn't).

      Thank you for the elaboration on what home dec is. There are many weights of home decorator fabrics, but most will not require an additional stabilizer.

    Hello from South Africa thanks for sharing .Where did you buy that cutting mat and what is the size.

    • @BeyondFabric
      @BeyondFabric  Рік тому

      The cutting mat can be found at most quilting and fabric stores or online. It is a 24" x 36".

    don't you hem the top of your pocket pieces /surely you don't leave it a raw edge?

    • @BeyondFabric
      @BeyondFabric  Рік тому +1

      As shown in the video, the pocket pieces are folded in half so the top of the pocket will be where the fold is. The raw edge of the pockets all match up at the bottom and when you sew the back fabric and then flip, the raw edge of the pockets are now all enclosed inside. We definitely do not want any raw edges. :) Please let me know if this did not clarify it.

      Loved your apron video and will be making it. You are easy to follow and understand. I was glad it wasn't rushed. Hello from California 😊
