I always had fun with the Spider games. They always have unusual setting. But the sad thing is, that they never take the last step from "good" to "very good".

I loved Greedfall. It was the quintessential "not a lot of polish but a hell of a lot of heart and passion" which is a vibe for a lot of games I love. I always reserve judgment for reviews and won't preorder but am srill keeping my eye on it.

What appeared in my mind when I heard "non-linear" in the context of their kind of games, was the old BioWare formula that has you visiting around 3-5 major locations but does not pin you on the order. Like Origins & ME. Could be wrong about how well this translates to these games, though.

I'm pretty sure THE TECHNOMANCER was a sequel to MARS: WAR LOGS. Or its at least in the same universe

I loved first Greedfall there is so few games set in early colonial period. I cannot wait to see what this game will bring

Spiders is one of those few I would say smaller studios that seem to be quite consistantly release games that are different from one another and yet improving as they go along. Granted only played 2 of there games. I also recently replayed and finished Greedfall so I am re-imersed in the game's lore

What do you mean, Spiders never made sequels? Isn't Technomancer a sequel to Mars: War Logs?

While not a sequel, Technomancer was in the same world as Mars: War Logs. I would like to see them revisit that setting.

There was something that made me really fall hard in love with greedfall 1, im not sure what it was but seeing the sequel get announced gave me this joy I used to have when I was a kid when a game I liked got a sequel, I really hope this dose well and spiders will have there own mass effect/dragon age esq franchise.

It is still weird to me that they called a prequel Greedfall 2, besides that the game looks pretty interesting and I'm looking forward to see more of it.

Greedfall 2 has been one of my most anticipated games after the first game won me over despite all its bugs and jank at launch, cementing it alongside plague tale as one of my stand out games for 2019. While Steelrising was only alright at best imo, I will say one thing: it was an almost bug free experience even at launch, at least for me so while I didn’t love the game’s design or approach to RPG mechanics like I did with Greedfall, it did show some technical growth for Spiders and gives me hope for their quality level going forward. Will be interested to see how/why they’re using an early access approach though!

Back when I first watched this video and you mentioned the new approach to combat I got Dragon Age vibes from the description, which got me really excited for it. Now that the latest Dragon Age games gameplay has been revealed I find it rather ironic, and hilarious, how Greedfall and DA seems to have essentially traded combat styles with each other.
