- Dean Martin wasnt a drunk as people believe. He acted as one. He was a Christian man who enjoyed family life. This video highlights his brilliance of taking that act over 20 years.
I may get "roasted" here, but in my humble opinion, Dean had the best voice in the Rat Pack. That other guy, Sinatra, was no slouch. But, Dean Martin's voice was, and remains, a smooth, well aged, two fingers of the finest whiskey available to man.
👊
I agree ... His voice was so much better than Sinatra's . Too bad he didn't take it more seriously . But then again ...maybe that's why I like him the best .
Nothing to roast, Dean was hands down, no debate the funniest and best member of the Rat Pack. Frank and Sammy were amazing as well, but Dean is always #1 to me
I agree 💯👍👍👍👍💯💯 Dean Martin is the best
Greatest all around entertainer ever.
Mr Dean Martin the great STAR ever. Actor, singer and comedian. No one else could do all 3 and be the best at it.
The guy was a like your favorite uncle. He lived life with wink of the eye and a drink in hand. Never.took things too seriously and knew how to enjoy his life. He was a load of laughs great with the ladies and fantastic at parties. He's the guy at the top of the "must invite " list at any party. Hey Dean, if your listening up there, have one on me!
Dean was one of the best a wonderful voice and a charming personality. Then they broke the mould.,,,,
Dino was the best !
Dean Martin. His voice (whenever he sings) would always take me to the past. Brilliant man.
Dean was the MAN !!
Dean Martin was the greatest
The word is ETERTAINER ! One of only a handful of artists that were really ENTERTAINING! STAGE, MOVIES, TV, RECORDING, HE did it all ! Thanks Dean for giving us so much joy for so many years . Miss you terribly! RIP Mi Amico !
There is no adjective in the dictionary that can aptly describe my admiration for this talented performer.
Great entertainer. A beautiful human.. Dean Martin.
He'll always be loved, remembered.
Thank you for uploading.
Very nicely done. Dean was my mom's favorite. I think I'll go have some apple juice....
Good video tribute to an all time great beloved performer. Dean Martin was truly one of the greatest entertainers of all time "bar none" no pun intended lol.
I loved his comedy, Interviews, movies and when performing, always makes me laugh
When the Martin & Lewis team broke up people worried about Dean Martin and wondered his he’d survive. Just another singer and former straight man for the antics of Jerry Lewis. They needn’t have worried as we now know because Dean Martin went on to a huge and successful career as a singer, actor, and wonderful entertainer. There will never be another like him.
Agreed!
What a wonderful video. Thank you for putting this together. Words cannot even describe how magnificent he was!
Thank you for the comment. I’m glad you enjoyed it. He is one of my favorite artists.
As an entertainer I think Dean surpasses Jerry Lewis by far. As a team I'm sure they were dynamite. As a solo artist it was seemed Dean was having a blast on every show I've seen him do. RIP Deano.
Great entertainer!! He still picks me up and gives life a pizazz!
THANK YOU FOR PUTTING THIS TOGETHER. HE WAS WONDERFUL. GOD BLESS YOU DEAN!
Yea Dino! One of the best ever!
The best of the best
Another Brilliant Buckeye 🥰
Handsome, suave, smooth, beautiful voice, such a slow mode and so funny. I still smile and say aaaawww whenever I see or hear Dean…❤️😌 he was a legend.
Too cool for words!!!!
O.K., Dean was a famous, straight man/and comedian, good looking, actor, sharp dresser, well liked by his peers etc. etc. and the list goes on and on; but most of all, he had a beautiful soothing voice. In my opinion, and other people's opinion as well, if you take that all away from him such as his fame, comedic timing, looks, and being a sharp dresser, tux and all, and substitute it all with everything with the opposite such as:being and ugly sloppy bum that no one liked, the one thing that he had going for him whether he was good looking or not, was his beautiful extra smooth,, soothing, silky, olive oily voice.
He was a natural/ shame he lost his son / never the same since/ our loss
Dean Paul Jr.'s fans too.
Dean was the greatest entertainer that ever lived. 👏👏💝
Thanks joe Dodd for a superb story and upload, I had heard conflicting accounts about his drinking and not drinking, I really enjoyed this video upload, all the best from Scotland, I think Jerry Lewis missed dean s lot, dean was convincing enough to fool millions of people, drunk acting or not he was a great singer, they try to copy him, but there was only 1 dean Martin
I agree Mat. Only one Dean Martin. His drunk act can be rivaled by none. He carried it across all aspects of entertainment. Foster Brooks learned from Dean.
Love Dean Martin ❤❤
What a man Dean was
I will pray for America. Please pray for me. God Bless you.
That other Carson appearance was better . With Hope and Gobels ..omg that was funny . Dean was at the top of his game .
Great video.
La grande classe! Quel talent!
The King of Cool.
KOOL
Wonderful !
Yeah. Anywhere I can I ask, I reach out, attempting to get more of the Dean Martin Variaty shows.
What’s officially released is just a drop
They released his show as a best of set. Keep watching Dean Martins official channel. They’ve been putting more up the last few months. The trust/ Garrison issue had to be resolved.
@@1joed85 Oh I’ll actually live to see the day. Thank you so much.
I knew the drinking act was just an act, the people loved it, but so many actually believed it
And still do!

My role model
The greatest Accapella performer ....Ever....See ya
It's hard to tell if someone has a good singing voice by hearing them talk, but you could tell Dean did, Bing Crosby was the same.
Nice Foster Brooks impression! Never noticed that was it :o
He drank tea, surely..❤️
Died too young…he was a great entertainer.
Dean was a Catholic Italian. Far different from American Evangelical "Christian" with a capital C.
Not sure why you felt it necessary to dish our evangelical friends.
Wonderful video...but not one word, mention or clip, of the years 1946-1956, when Dean and Jerry Lewis formed the most electric comedy duo in history?
Dean was the “sidekick” those ten years. I focused on the Dean Martin that started afterwards with the “drunk” routine. I agree with you, I love Martin and Lewis!
During that stretch of 58 to 73 ...was there anyone cooler??? I don't think so .
Entertainment died when he passed away.
Dean wasn’t a drunk but he did drink. By lucky coincidences, i found myself in three different restaurants where he was dining and even sat at the bar with him one time. It wasn’t water in those rocks glasses.
They dont make lilke these anymore....
Good vid but I can’t really hear you
This gag that he never drank or was drunk on stage is so bogus, maybe he faked a few times but basically he was sloshed and Ill never believe otherwise.
Would you believe if he was sloshed on tv they’d of fired him?
Why would anyone pretend to be drunk their whole life? Makes no sense.
The act was for our entertainment when he was in front of a camera or mic. Dean didn’t pretend to be drunk once the cameras turned off. Frank Sinatra couldn’t get Dean out drinking. Foster Brooks…. Look him up to compare acts.
@@1joed85 I know, but for your whole entertainment career to pretend to be a drunk? At some point he must have thought enough is enough I don't have to act drunk anymore, I can just be myself. I don't recall Dean acting drunk in his early career, maybe he did, but the drunk act just seemed unnecessary.
@@richardmckrell4899 you nailed it. With Jerry Dean was the straight guy. His drunk act didn’t really develop until the early 60’s. There are movies such as The Son’s of Katie Elder, Who Was That Lady and Airport are “sober” Dean films in that era. I personally think he did what he thought people enjoyed… his carefree drunk act.
@@1joed85 Yeah I just don't get it, Dean Martin had a great personality and didn't need to pretend to be drunk.
I am like everyone else who loves to watch Dean but I worry he never had time for a spiritual life
He was a Catholic. If he practiced regularly or was devout is not something Dean stated. However, his language, his Christmas shows and his family life indicate to me he was a follower of God.
@@1joed85 I understand but that's not the same thing as having faith. Traditions like Christmas are used to sell products and make ratings on television. How often did he talk about his faith? Never. When discussing the death of his son he said he was glad he had more than one child.
@@MyNameIsChristBringsASword according to his daughter Dean said his prayers every night and instructed her to thank God for their good fortune. Did did say in one interview that “ I thank God for my fortune and talent and I’m going to use it until it’s gone.” He wasn’t very public about it.
@@1joed85 I hope he's saved and I won't diminish what you say, but I am curious about men who have it all in this world and what their faith was like. Case in point: David Cassidy who had it all but had no faith near as I can tell.
@@MyNameIsChristBringsASword so am I. It’s actually a video I’m putting together. There are some bond in faith that are also entertainers.
lots of pills like most
He actually when to Betty Ford Rehab.
That was NOT apple juice, it was JB Scotch! Hogwash Dean was an social drunk. I worked a private golf country club, I know what I'm talking about.
