Installed it on my JL yesterday and I love it. Pricey but worth the money. I had issues with some features (user error, nothing to do with the Tazer itself) so I sent them an email. Best customer service ever. In the space of about 45 minutes, we exchanged about 6-7 emails, it was live support at is best. I was stunned, these days you don't see service like that, this just made the price even more justified. This week only, twice someone tried to steal my Jeep (same gang), both times i caught them but since I live in Canada, I just had to scare them off (times like these, the US 2 amendment would be so nice to have lol), so the hood alarm was my main purchase reason but once I went over the menu, wow. Turn Cam, Brake Hold, Pulse Brake, In Motion, TPMS, Tire size...This thing does it all. It's a no brainer, just get this asap. Kudos to Z Automotive for making this product, chapeau.
I also had a question about saving settings before Unmarry this morning and the replay came within hours.

@@alopandur yes, and I did enable it. I also had a kill switch installed. Now if I get my JLU stolen, they will have earned it lol. Hood alarm, PIN start, Kill switch and Domino Tracker...I don't know what I can do more to prevent getting it stolen.

Hazard Button = super fast alternating brake/reverse/turn light show that’s optimally designed for road side emergency visibility. (I know you can customize your own light show but nobody wants to scroll all the way through the menu in an emergency or remember which button they mapped it to)

Great info - looking for more updates/info on the Security Pin.... got my 23 JL and Tazer at xmas and have turned off the PIN recently because sometimes it would lock you out/ask for pin and other times no pin needed to drive

Great Videos! I love the passenger seat heater option. Is there a way to have the seat heater either always automatically turn on or recall the last state from shutdown? My Jeep 392 routinely shows 20° warmer in the garage than the real outside temperature because the engine stays warm for many hours after shutdown, so the 40° required temperature for auto seat heat keeps the seat heaters off. I recently sent the JScan back and bought a Tazer JL. Much better. However, I am now concerned about other people driving my JL. My lady friend has a habit of wedging her sun glasses next to the shifter when she doesn't need them. I am concerned she will accidently turn on the rear lockers and not notice anything until damage is done. Is there a way to disable the two wheel drive locker function to prevent this? Thanks.
can the tazer unlock the the RPM Rev in P or N ?
When getting a dealer re flash will removing the Tazer and un marry it cause the Jeep to go into limp mode due to the difference between gear change and tire size settings and pulses from the gear change and tire size . Is there a way to save the taser settings when a re flash is done.

How to set Anchor Mode
For the passenger seat heated feature, could you change it so when it only detects someone in the seat it turns on?
Currently don’t have a way for the Tazer to detect that
I'm sure you guys have heard of the problems associated with the auxiliary battery on the JL/JT - i.e. the aux battery drains then it can drain and kill the main battery (even if auto stop is removed or not used) Do you have a recommended way to delete the aux battery to use in conjunction with the Tazer? From what I understand there are 2-3 different ways to delete it.
We see many people pulling fuse F42, but we don't have a recommended way

My pin lock code was not accepted nor was a second try. The brakes did not engage but my rpm’s went up noticeably while still in park. What caused this? I shut down the vehicle and started over again and worked through it. I feel like my shift points changed afterwards though. Help me with what could have happened here. Very curious

What vehicle and what TaZer firmware version?
Some vehicles may have a button shortcut to that cruise control button (for example winch mode which would raise the RPM). If the screen times out and you didn’t finish putting in your Pin, that could cause it to not accept the pin and possibly trigger a TaZer button shortcut
Could the tazer be used to make the windows go up automatically rather than having to hold the window switch up?
No, the JL and JTs don’t have door modules so no way to have automated windows
How does the pin lock feature work with remote start?
Works as normal with a factory remote start. When you remote start the vehicle the Pin Will not start counting down until you get in and push the start button
What if you go to a dealer for service do I have to totally unplug the tazer and unmarry it or unpair it before I bring it in or can I just unplug it and bring it in and then when I get it back just plug it back in ???
I ask because it would stink to have to remember what settings you set up and have to re-enter all over again.
Yes it is recommended to Unmarry and remove before dealer visits. Some dealers don’t care, some do. Keep a list of all the settings you adjust, so you can reset them all in one sitting once back from the dealer

How about the 392 slash screen for a 2021 392 ?
If the vehicle doesn't have the splash screen option somewhere in the computer, the TaZer can't unlock it. The 2021s don't have it

So I bought the taser Mini and a camera to put on the front of my 2018 Jeep JL ended description it said that it was compatible for getting the cargo camera up does that not work on the 7in and is there any plans to incorporate the 7in into the program in the future if it doesn't or do I have to get the 8.4 display

hey guys, quick question I have the Tazer Mini for my JT, last week I took the keep for a service and only disconnected the tazer and reconnected the cables back using the extension adapter cables, I never unmarried the Tazer, is that a problem? Do I need to unmarry my tazer before service or just disconnecting is fine?

The TaZer can enable/disable travel link which not a Live Settings menu option but in the "radio" submenu option - see page 8 of the TaZer JL manual (link has been added to the video description)

Will break hold work with adaptive cruise control. Which will bring you to a stop when somebody in front of you stops. Will this keep you there in that stop without putting your foot on the brake?

So i installed my tazer mini and married it to my sport s and i still can’t see the lighting sub menu option. Switched from halogen to led headlights and i want to enable the halos. I see TPMS now but then just shows the version number after where the lighting menu is supposed to be. why is this happening?

Every feature shown in this video would not stay if the Tazer mini is removed. Every feature shown is a live feature, meaning the Tazer needs to remain plugged in to function

Please consider a way to keep the performance exhaust off. There are situations where it would be desirable to accelerate quickly without attracting unwanted attention or being obnoxiously loud. The exhaust sounds great with it off anyway.

I dunno why but sometimes my brake hold doesn’t hold then when I push the brake it goes to the floor while the jeep is still moving. It worries me so I tend to put it in park instead.
Last time I tried using turn cam, it wouldn’t work with in motion nav on.
As shown in the video at 4:11 TurnCam and In Motion can not work at the same time due to the radios incompatibility.
As far as Brake Hold not holding, please reach out to support. I know the engineer is constantly tweaking and improving such features for greater stability, but it's never a bad idea to have the occurrence on supports radar - support@zautotech.com

I tried to buy it from Extreme Terrain, but it said this, "It is illegal to install an aftermarket part that alters or modifies the original design or performance of the motor vehicle pollution control system unless the part has an executive order from CARB. Installation of parts which are not CARB-approved on pollution controlled vehicle in the state of California may result in the DMV revoking the vehicle registration and title, refusing the transfer of registration, and/or the vehicle failing smog inspection. Law enforcement may cite you for the use of an illegal aftermarket part and seize your title and license plate."
I bought the Zmini for my Gladiator Sport. I just changed the Gladiator from halogen headlights and driving lights to aftermarket LED headlights and driving lights. The Right headlight cuts on and off while driving. I'm told it's because I need to use the Zmini to program the headlights for LED. BUT I am absolutely unable to find ANY headlight menus anywhere in this device. All of your instructions and videos ignore the entire lighting menu. The printed instructions post headlights under sub menues, but neglects to tell me where the sub menues even are. Does anyone know how to find the headlight menu anywhere in the Zmini???? Anyone?
If you notice on the top of the main page of the Tazer JL mini manual, “the vehicle settings menu is accessed with the ignition in “Run” (not “ACC”) and the ignition NOT running”
The lighting menu is a vehicle settings menu item and can only be accessed with the ignition off and set to “run”.
The lighting menu is also a Tazer JL Mini setting only and would not show up in
Tazer JL Lite programmers. If you are still having a hard time finding the menu and adjusting settings, email support at support@zautotech.com
Actually, I later found another UA-cam video, after searching through many videos, that explained how the live menu will never appear until I Marry the device to the Gladiator. Even the instructions that came with it glossed over that action. Somehow I was just supposed to KNOW that there's a step two after installation and before finding headlights. I saw the Marry feature but had no idea what it was. Almost all youtubers neglect to mention that step. They go right from "plug it in" to "find menus." @@zautomotive
@@JamesJohnson-qq6hh this is good information for us, as now we can make a more in-depth video about the necessity for the Tazer JL owners to marry it to our vehicles. Also, good to know that we may need to make our manual more clear on that.
Certain vehicles get a lot out of the Tazer from the “live features” (plugged in without having to be married, such as the Ram TRX), while others have a lot of features in the “vehicle settings” that would first need to be married (such as the Tazer JL for the Wrangler/Gladiators)

I’m sorry, but what? What exactly are you referring to?
The brake hold feature is cool. But be warned! If you are using it and picking someone up, the second they open a door, it releases if you have auto park OFF. If you have auto park on, it will go into park. I ran into this on accident and almost ran over my kid. I foolishly assumed auto brake would hold until I touched the gas regardless of my other taser settings. That is not the case with auto park OFF.
Correct, the Brake Hold feature is not a replacement for putting the vehicle into PARK. As mentioned in the video, there are certain parameters for each setting to properly function. For Brake Hold to hold, your seat belt needs to be on, vehicle in drive, with the doors closed. If Auto park is enabled the vehicle will automatically be put into park. If Auto Park is disabled through the TaZer, the vehicle will move when the door is opened
I don't need any of these features. I need beepless driving without your seatbelt and more power 😂
“Beepless” driving as you call it, or “Beltding” as we call it is already a thing in the TaZer JL

Yeah, that was about as clear as mud. I don't know what buttons you are pushing and too much rambling about safety and skipping around, mainly about stuff I don't care about. Is there a flow chart, in writing, about what buttons I need to push to perform the functions I'm interested in? Also, why does it seem my unit doesn't even have the functions you speak of?
Why don't we start here: do you have a TaZer mini or a TaZer lite?

@@zautomotive Yeah, I can't make heads or tails of the manual. My basic problem is I don't know which buttons to push once I get to the LIVE SETTINGS screen. I need to get to the IN MOTION screen; but, I have no idea what buttons to push. I can push every button and it still doesn't get many closer. Also, do I have to access this screen EVERY time I start the Jeep? It's almost as dangerous to navigate these buttons as it is to type in the navigation screen. And honestly, I don't know which version I got. I believe it's the more expensive version; because I remember wanting more than just basic functions.

Lastly, you can find out what version of the TaZer JL you have by scrolling to the end of the TaZer menu which can be done by being on the audio screen, holding the left arrow, and by continuously hitting cruise cancel (but I guess that wasn’t at all clear from the video)

That would be in the radio submenu. Vehicle to “run” without the ignition on, cycle through the Tazer menu to radio, go into that menu and go to “offRdPgs” and select it on. Do a full reboot and two sleep cycles
