I've had a Taser JL Mini for two years now and always wondered what the heck that PIN setting was all about. I bought it for wheel and tire settings (37's) and ignored about everything else. This was super useful info and I appreciate you taking the time to share man!

I updated my Tazer JL lite to mini when I got ORACLE tail lights for Christmas. The LED tail didn't work until I changed setting to LED. I have used it for tire size and pressure changes. I don't leave it plugged in but I may after hearing of a couple of these feature you pointed out. Thanks for another great video!!

Great info! I just installed a JL Mini in my ‘22 JTR. Programming to a little getting used to, but its not that bad once you get the hang of it. I’m slowly doing mods to my Gladiator. I purchased some Oracle taillights to replace the “butt ugly” halogen taillights. I found out quickly that the lights were not compatible with my JL until I changed the setting in the computer(or got some resistors) I opted for the JL Mini because it allows me to change the settings as I mod my rig. Great tool!

Great video. In the process of buying my first Wrangler and the blackout mode is something specifically ive been thinking of trying to figure out. Running that with an IR lightbar will make driving with night vision a much easier option!! Thanks for the video!

On my Grand Cherokee Trailhawk the start-stop defeat was the reason I bought it. The TMPS threshold and tire change values are also very worthwhile, as is the satnav entry feature. Expensive but very well worth it. No real use for the PIN feature or the backup camera with turn signal, however.
Canadian here too. That honking feature would drive me crazy! I already don't like the push to start. Guess I'm keeping my 2021 truck for much longer than I expected originally. I like my key.

Love my Tazer mini in my JT! Turning of A.S.S. (Auto start stop) and traction control are 2 things I love. Also running 37” tires, 5.13 gears, Front camera. #JTRSPARTACUS

I guess I need to update my Tazer now. Features I love and use all the time. ESS remember (whole reason I bought it), I have my backup camera link to set+. Use that all the time. I found it super annoying to have to linked to the turn signal while driving in town. Also have to car alarm trigger on Hood open while alarm active. have winch, cool down and anchor mode assigned to my cruse control buttons.
We don't have a lot of jeep thefts here but I'll be adding the pin set for sure.

My 2013 Focus ST honked when I got out and left it running but my 2021 JT doesn't and I'm actually pretty happy about it lol
Great video. As soon as I saw they added the pin, I updated my tazer. Only issue I've found is I often forget about the pin, put the Gladiator in drive and it locks down. Of course I just then add the pin and drive off. A few times though, if I take too long the ABS and Traction control light stays on. Also, jumping in and out with the key in your pocket get annoying sometimes. But, over all a valuable feature that I am happy they added.
Make sure update to yesterdays release - they have been tweaking the PIN every few days to make sure it works bettere.

I haven't been able to get the idle-up feature to work on my 2022 JTRD with any of the firmware revisions. Will this ever be fixed?
The taser sounds amazing however I do have a 2007 Wrangler
I wish they would come out with a Bluetooth edition that would allow you to control and configure it via an app. I have one and like it overall, but am not a fan of the interface. I also REALLY want them to enable turn assist for the 4xe.
An app would be awesome! Zautomotive is a great company and i've spoken to the owner several times. I think it is great to support a company that offers so many free feature additions and product improvements and perhaps with enough support from the community they can develop more cool stuff like an app.
We’re working on the mobile control via BT. As for the 4XE we can’t add turn assist, line lock or anything that controls the brakes as the ABS system is part of the hybrid drive system which they’ve made kind of off-limits.
I'll buy one when they develop an app.

I just installed the Kraken inflation system with ARB twin compressor and love it , my previous compressor was junk and there inflation system never sealed correctly on valve stem !!!

I like the pin setting but any comment on a valet parking situation? The wife has a Rubi and she frequently has little option at some places she visits. Also how does some of these changes affect the warranty? Appreciate the video.
Curious about the PIN feature. I have a taser and haven't enabled the feature yet because I'm wondering if it's just one of those things that becomes a pain in the ass after a couple weeks. Whats peoples opinions now that it's been out awhile?
Can the auto dim highbeam headlights be activated via Tazer for 2019's that have the Auto Cruise Control feature but not the Auto Dim Headlight activated?
Very well explained. I bought my Tazer mini for the purpose of the KillHonk and for future tire upgrade. The Pin lock feature sure is handy but it doesn't 100% work all the time. or maybe just on mine. but yeah money well spent on the Tazer mini.
Make sure to get the latest release. Joe is putting new firmware out constantly.
Does anyone know if you use to disable the auto start/stop feature and leave the auxiliary battery in will it still drain main battery. Or likewise if you remove the auxiliary?

Hey! I have a 2018 JL but not sure of what aftermarket radio with navigation to installe, please let me know.
The PIN lock feature is really nice. When it first came out I looked into it and found out all they required to do was remove the Tazer to get around it. I heard that the Z-Auto team were working on something to prevent this but not aware of any update on that. Maybe there is a way to relocate the ports where the SGW module is plugged into somewhere else to better hide/secure this from happening.
I have a great idea of using an already built-in feature of the Jeep that you mention in this video Casey. I would love to share it and maybe you can do a special video about it as an extra measure to help prevent your Jeep from being driven. (Mine unfortunately, was stolen back in early summer and still waiting for my factory order.)
They commented on my IG that they were working on an update for removing the tazer.

I just had a hidden kill switch on my jku, so the vehicle just won't start.
Yes, we have the same thing in the US. You leave the fob in the car or you leave the car running and get out, the car honks at you.
Does this new device change your vehicles set speed example on my 21 jeep gladiator Willys edition it is set to only go no more than 97 mph. Does this taser fix that to increase The vehicle set speed?
Halos are clearly visible in my Rubicon 2023 headlights while I cannot turn them on.
It is mentioned that I can do that using The tazer while others are talking about a 4th wire.

The home link buttons aren’t active after the vehicle is shut off because if someone breaks into your Jeep they can open your garage if it’s parked outside and gain access to your home very easily. Same as if you leave a garage door opener in plain sight (visor) and park your car outside you are asking for trouble.

I understand that they shouldn't be on all the time, but perhaps once the vehicle is locked they should disable or after 60s and / or the vehicle is locked.
Tazer enables them for 30 seconds after you shut the Jeep off, not indefinitely. And if you choose the ignition+door option it’ll also enable them if the alarm is off and the door gets opened. Won’t work if someone brakes in or removes the top to get to the buttons.
I have one, and it doesn't quite work right with my early build JLU. Even with a software update, i still can not get the FAD to disable.
Everything else I have tried works, and its still a good thing to have.
What is FAD?
Is there a setting to stop information uploads from your phone when hooked up to Bluetooth? Another one is to stop tracking you (stopped and traveling), both are reported to be a hidden part of the system you don’t see or pull up.
Do you have to leave the Taser plugged in?
Do you have tpms sensor and how do you know if you have tpms sensor?
I bought a 2020 Gladiator with a jl lite. Can I update this unit?

Curious if you guys are able to make winch mode work for a diesel? Also, don’t know this, but can it be made to use while wheeling? I used to have an ac kick solenoid hooked up for crawling at like 1200 rpm, that would be awesome in my jtrd!!

Idk why but on my 23 ecodiesel tazer mini, if I keep it plugged in it just keeps saying service shifter and inside lights flicker. I did the reset and everything that was said and downloaded the newest update. Idk.
passengers heated seat coming on with remote start is the best feature for us folks living in the extreme cold.

If you are doorless you still get the honk if the key fob is more than 15 feet away from the driver's seat

Hi, there great info and had quick question. Like for updates on the Taser Mini as I have a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon and do you just unmarry the tazer mini, unplug it and do your update then do you just plug it back in and marry it again to your Jeep and just go through process like when you first installed it or do you have to plug back into your computer Jeep then unplug and reinstall the Tazer Mini?
for updates, I just take it out, update it, put it back. No to unmarry, all settings are saved.

When you informed how to get rid of that annoying horn honk when exiting the Jeep with the engine running, YOU BECAME MY NEW BEST FRIEND.
My wife's Honda just chirps, which is a suttle and quiet reminder, but that dang horn blast ticks me off. It is basically announcing to the entire area "My engine was left running. Come steal me."

I hope this thing has a way to disable the 'radio accept' message and maybe enable the rear locker in 4H. The auto stop/start remember is enough for me.

I always have my door open when backing my 03 ram to hook my trailers up. or backing down a boat ramp.
My Girls JL drives me nuts with the auto start stop and I cant move it with a door open. We towed her jeep behind our RV and it drove me crazy
not being able to move it with the door open when i was trying to hook it up to the tow bar.
I will be adding this Tazer thing to her Jeep fast.

I use blackout mode for the drive-in movie theater. No other way to do with out the Trazer JL.

Who did your engine upgrade?
Heard that using a Tazer and disabling the Start/Stop will run down your Aux battery faster and that in turn will drain your main battery faster? My Aux just got changed 500 miles away from end of my fact warr. (3 yrs) If 5 yrs is normal, need to also disable the Aux battery but heard it controls Accessories??? Can you clarify impacts?

Black out mode is great when going to drive in movies
I think the garage door opener buttons don’t work when Jeep is off is due to if it’s parked outside with doors off / or you have a soft top you don’t want someone to easily be able to then open your garage if keys aren’t in the Jeep. While it can be annoying I do understand why it’s the way it is.
I’m interested in the taser can I disable the lockers and sway bar for when I am letting someone borrow the car. Don’t want them fiddling with the system and taking the car off road

Question, can you set the features/functions from the Tazer without effecting any of the factory features or does it reconfigure more than the specifics you want? I am comfortable with the way my Jeep is but would like 2-3 of those feature you mentioned. thnx.

@@Casey250 standard factory features/functions/settings. In other words will it reconfigure anything from how I have things now or will it only effect what I do using the Tazer? I just don't want to find out it changed stuff I did not do myself.
I see you have to lift the throttle to make it shift. When are you going to work on that? That will take you into the 4's if the tires hook.
I lift to grab traction. I only had a rear drive shaft in so only rear wheel drive. With 4wd I should be able to launch it and hold it down and expect high 3s zero to 60

If I have the base uconnect meaning my connected services is deleted. Is there any way the tazer will let me get connected services ? Also can I use it to customize the radio appearance ?
Oh one more question I know this seems dumb but the tazer seems to fix many “annoyances” can I use this to program my radio so my phone will automatically connect to Bluetooth without having to push the buttons to connect it ?
So question. Does auto park work at any speed? Driving down the highway today in my super old Toyota, my wife realized the passenger door was slightly open. It was closed enough to keep the lights off until we got up to speed. So she popped the door open and slammed it shut….. while driving down the highway. Would the new gladiator slam into park at highway speeds?
No, it does have a limit and then it won't engage.
Mine has never slammed into park even at slow speeds. I have a farm and often times need to open the door when driving a fence line or messing with livestock. Mine would alarm and then slow the truck down to a stop then auto park.
If I want to add auxiliary switches to my jeep if I didn’t get them factory can I add them factory after I bought my jeep?

Not allowing the garage door opener to work unless the vehicle is on is a security feature. Some thieves will break into your vehicle in order to open your garage and gain access to it or your house.
Sooo, will the Tazer Mini allow the bypass of the FAD electronic lockout so you can still engage the FAD when a wheel speed sensor goes out.

Casey, let me understand well! What happen when you drive your jeep doors off; I want to say when you decide to remove doors and drive without. It doesn’t stop the engine I think?! How to do so when the jeep is equipped with Taser?!

I have another good anti theft device in my Wrangler: a manual transmission. LOL.
Will the tazer regaer the Jeep? I need to have that done. I factory ordered mine and it has no guts at all. I do not tow anything but i still get passed by semis going up a hill. Inread in the jeep forums a simple regear will fix that.
You can recalibrate your gearing with the taser.

One reason for the honk is to let you know the key fob has left the vehicle. I have had a friend drop her husband off at home with the keys in his pocket as she drove to go shopping. We'll when she parked she realized it after turning the car off and needed the key brought to her.
15:12 Jeep does this so that criminals can’t break your Jeep’s window while its parked in the driveway, hit your homelink garage opener, and enter your garage or house.
You still can’t do that even with the Tazer enabling it. It’s smarter than that…
You don't need to turn the Jeep back on to open the garage door, just cycle to RUN on the start button.

The pin mode also makes the auto /start feature disabled. So if you are the type of person that likes to use that to warm up your jeep or something, This wont work for ya. Because like you said, you have to put in the PIN or the jeep will shut down. Its a Great feature for those that want to use it. My Opinion, the best anti theft Device is the REVELCO! Not one vehicle has ever been stolen with it installed.
i can still remote start my Jeep and enter a pin after getting in. They just updated thwir firmware again to fix a few nuances
@@Casey250 whats the time limit after a remote start, before the pin is needed?
