Thank you for the video. My 2016 CRF250L started rattling at 9,000 miles. I installed the Krieger CCT yesterday - she's purring like new again. I had a lot of trouble removing the larger cap; I had to use a flat head screw driver and a hammer (a few shots of vodka and tobacco helped as well). I have no idea why they manufactured the cap the way they did - maybe, because they want you to take the motorbike to the dealership. Other than the CCT problem, I have had no other problems; its a fantastic machine and this is coming from someone who rode a Yamaha WR450R in the past. I installed a 45 tooth sprocket and it made a HUGE difference - it doesn't bog down anymore and its performs much better on the highway. I absolutely love my CRF250L and I have no desire for another motorbike. I wanted to mention that your advertisements during the video are messed up; you could be losing revenue. I've noticed the problem on other UA-cam channels as well. I'm starting my channel, UA-cam better address the problem. By the way, I love the reference to Dumb and Dumber at the beginning.....ha ha ha
Thanks this is the most thorough and comprehensive tutorial. I have watched very many videos and I did not find even one that explained the steps. Most had you start the engine with the tension lose then tighten until the chain got quite!! Again I would like to thank you for sharing your expertise.
thanks for the good video.. my third cam chain tensioner andstill fail.. i ll go for manual but how can i buy Krieger tensioner easily from Turkey.. can you please show me to way to buy. and do we really need to set cam shaft position.. I had installed the automatic one before without setting the camshaft position.
I've got an 05 crf250x that I think has a failure with the tensioner. Do you think going with a manual tensioner without replacing the chain too will be a safe route?
Thanks for the quick reply, I figured this would be a much easier fix to at least start with. I don't need to tear into the top end if I try this first.
What year is your bike and what years is that timing chain tensioner good for I have a 2019 and got a 2013 to 2017 timing chain tensioner will it still work with mine I couldn't find any other tensioners for a 2019
@@KorysRides awesome yea I was thinking that it would work cuz every part from a 2017 and up works on the 2019's other then the pipe of course thanks good to have a second opinion on it as I was not sure cus I spent good money on the the tensioner and if it was wrong I couldn't refund it it but thanks!
The factory oxygen sensor is in the cylinder head near the exhaust port. I have an aftermarket wide-band oxygen sensor in my exhaust as part of the dobeck AFR+ EFI controller system
I have a '13 250L and had to replace this part at 5500 miles. After watching this I'm really hoping I have the tension set correctly! Excellent video.

very helpful, easy install on girlfriend's CRF250L. Chain slapping is gone and we're ready to ride 2000 miles of dirt from Bend to Las Vegas!!!!
How did it go? Any problems? Had a good time? Hope so

What mileage did the oem one go out?
you turn the flywheel clockwise, is it fine turning clockwise?
Was wondering the same thing.
Good video Kory. Hopefully mine won’t fail anytime soon but at least I know how to fix it when it does. 👍
About the engine plugs on the left side, do you need to drain the oil to have the stock replaced? Thanks in advance.
No. You might lose a drop or two, but no need to drain it.
Where did you get the anodized caps?

Should be fine

the engines are completely identical other than the exhaust pipe diameter and the throttle body size. Your tensioner should work.

Does it work with a 2019
Yes
excellent video. Thank you
Nice job on video
Why do some 250ls have the O2 sensor in different spots? My 2016 is apart of the cylinder head.

oh I see. thanks. How many miles do you have on the bike now?
I just did this on my bike. But as soon as the rattle sound is gone, a whining sound starts near the cam chain/cam sprockets area.
Cam shaft brarings have been grund
