The tie bomber had one of the best guns it was so accurate. Personally I like the y-wing better because the second gunner seat. You and your buddy could just like never die in dogfighting.

Yeah, once you're there the enemy can go ahead and just accept they're dead, but, a relatively slow and unshielded craft heading straight towards CIWS's doesn't seems like a good idea.
@@thelonious2213 Dude the tie bombers Hull is rated at 28 Ru and the B-wing is rated at 60 Ru, the B-wing also has a 100 sheild rating, the tie bomber has no sheilds, it accselerates way faster than the tie bomber, is slighty faster in space and way faster in atmosphere, thanks to its deflector sheild, it is better at dogfights because it has more lazer canons, and more powerfull ones too and it has ion canons for atacking sheilds. The B-wing also has only 16 manuvrablitiy points less than the tie bomber at 70, not to mention the fact that it has a hyper drive so you don't even need to keep it in a hanger for transport.

Actually, it’s more like:
- The Republic had the best troops.
- The CIS had the most of everything (troops, ships, fighters, etc).
- The Empire had the biggest ships and guns.
- The Rebels had the best fighters, bombers, and tactics/leadership when not counting Thrawn (and arguably best capital ships in the form of the various Mon Calamari ships).

The Y-wing seems very manouverable for a bomber when watching the clone wars. It has done some really sharp turns
Wookiepedia also mentions it is faster and more maneuverable than B Wing.
It has also been shown to have long distance capability’s in the clone wars, it even had a hyper drive so it could warp above a ship bomb it than run away

Just4Fun The CIS should have never won by any metric. They made garbage units for the sake of numbers, which proved ineffective when under good rRepublic leadership. It wasn’t plot armor that caused them to lose, it was the fact that they were made (by Palpatine) to lose. They were sabotaged from the start by their own leader.
At least you didn't include the Resistance Bomber from the Last Jedi, because those were hot garbage. And I say hot because they are all dead and on fire.

For the faction that was fond of hit and run attacks and made the fastest ship having the snail of all ships wasn’t going to ever do well
they are not garbage what-so-ever. one bomber destroyed an entire first order dreadnaught. they hold over 100 proton bombs and they are quite quick. one crossed a 7km dreadnaught relatively quickly. Another thing. the resistance doesn't have money to throw around at everything to afford the best of the best. they take what they can get.
charlie steele they’re a glass cannon. Their payload is their only redeeming quality, by every other metric they’re shit.
Y-wings were a glass cannon with a far less powerful payload. 90% of every Y-wing that went on a mission was destroyed by imperial tie fighters or cannons.

The biggest selling point to the Tie Bomber is that it was dirt cheap to make... much like the Tie Fighter, cheap, and easily replaced.
I feel this advantage doesn’t work with the fact that Tie pilots are extremely well trained which takes time. You’re taking a cheap and easy to destroy bomber and putting a pilot you’ve put a lot of investment in which not only means if it blows up you lose the pilot, but the pilot can’t operate at full efficiency.

Stormtroopers are supposedly highly trained but drop like flies-- their armor and equipment is shittier then clone wars era equipment while still "supposedly" being good, and they miss. Like. Clockwork.

Technically although the B-wing is the biggest star fight its attack profile is pretty narrow. Think about it. It’s diving head first to attack capital ships and besides the main body, hitting narrow wings is very difficult. Yet it is easy to shoot on the side which means it’s not great at dogfighting, but it was some what negated by its durability.
the B-wing shown in Rebels was interesting, with the ability to kill an imperial cruiser. The B-wing in ROTJ was quite different
Before watching: B-Wing. Versatile, advanced, S foils, can hold its own against fighters. After watching: The outcome was never really in doubt.
“The B-Wing was capable of even taking down light capital ships used by the Empire.” Anyone else remember that scene from Star Wars Rebels where a B-Wing did exactly that? Granted, the B-Wing in question was a prototype model using a weapon that we never saw on the B-Wings from, say, Endor, but still, very impressive.

I believe that the Hyena bombers deserve 2nd, due to their capabilities, I believe they weren't terrible at fighter combat, I also believe they could out do a Y-wing in combat, easily make it back to it's ship, rearm it's explosives, and bomb the opposing cruiser into oblivion with a second go quickly, if it hadn't already been destroyed from the first run.
TCW just doesn't represent them well. They cost less than a tie bomber, so they would be deployed en-masse. They have a great payload, but moreso they are expendable and replaceable. So as long as some get through, you are going to destroy ships.
I think the lack of shields would lead to its downfall in combat with y-wing and to point defense weapons.
I love that you talked about the B-Wing here. It's my absolute favorite Starfighter from the entire series, followed by the ARC-170 (apparently I like my heavy assault fighters). I hardly ever see anything about the B-Wing anywhere, so am just super pleased that you did this vid. Also happy that my fave ship took top spot.
Is it just me or were the resistance bombers in the last jedi so stupidly bad? Seriously a B or Y wing would of been soooo much better at taking out capital ships.
They aren't bad, they are just way more effective in other areas. The Y wing or the B wing are pretty good at attacking capital ships, while the resistance bombers are better at destroying cities or industrial faculties.

To be honest star fortress was in fact stupidly powerfull, one bomber had 1048 proton bombs, y-wing had 20, it's 50 times more, one bomber could most likely take down an ISD, all you need to do is to protect them until they arive
the protection problem is the issue, they are a big, slow and prime target. provide them with better shields or use them for the proper circumstances and they are effective. they absolutely need to be covered by a fighter screen and they lack the evasiveness to avoid point defense. give the resistance a strike bomber craft and you could escort both and the strike bombers could provide an opening for the heavy bombers.
+Jacob Carney these things arent slow. they crossed a 7km dreadnaught in under a minute. i dont see how that converts to them being slow.

The Y Wing is by far my favorite starship in all of Star Wars.
I love the arc 170.
I would certainly have put it higher than the B wing which is one of the worst ship designs in Star Wars. The Tie bomber might have skipped on shields and speed but at least they got the guns in the right place.
Speed normally is not a problem if your people upgrade the engines, which was why the Spitfire and BF-109 were still in at the end of the war.

@@sharkzomb1798 the issue I have with the B-wing is it is not a fighter but more to deal with small capital ships, which means you need decent cover. That did not happen in the X-wing PC game, so you ended up trying to deal with tie fighters in a vehicle that was never intended to do that. The guns placed wide and far off centre make it difficult to aim at small fast enemies. They would have been better off with putting heavy armament on an Imperial shuttle along with a tail turret.

Given the drastic difference in clone and storm trooper armor, as well as the different materials droids were made of I'd like to learn more about which faction protected their troops the most.
Also I don't really care what Tshirt I get, they both look like very nice designs

Alucard definitely not but I was thinking he could briefly mention all of the smaller groups that made up the rebellion. Mandolorians, Alderanians, ex-clone troopers, and many other peoples have some kind of armor as well as stolen storm trooper armor.
Also I wouldn't mind seeing a separate video about where the rebellion got all of their supplies, vehicles and weapons. I feel like everything we see them use has to have a story. I'd like to know

Alliance, then Republic, then Empire, then CIS. The X-Wing is unquestionably better than either the ARC-170 or the V-19, the former of which is also far better than an Imperial TIE. Between the TIE and the Vulture, the TIE has a better fuel life, better speed, similar agility, better guns, and a smaller target profile from most angles.
vulture droids have homing missiles tho!

The K-Wing is New Republic, not Rebel Alliance.
and New Republick is also a faction, just like the others, Old Republick, Empire, Rebelion, etc
All of these are Attack craft, the Y wing is like an IL-2, it doesn’t even carry bombs so why is it considered a BOMBER

Dr. Vanilla the resistance bombers weren’t bad, just poorly chosen for the job. Those bombers are better suited for bombing a city, while y, or b wings are better for attacking capital ships.

If the resistance was on this list, then their bomber would be last. It has the strongest payload of all bombers, but its soooo slow and can't even take hits from some tie fighters.
If you look at historical use of strategic bombers (which they are based on) they aren't meant to go toe to toe with fighters. That's why they always have a fighter escort and flew very high above ground. They are there to deliver as much ordnance as possible and nothing else. Speed is not important, as you should not be outrunning things, and the turrets are meant to discourage enemy fighters from attacking, not to attack themselves. The resistance did a terrible job of using them like they should have, and flew them right above the dreadnought, and far too close and in too few numbers. The allies flew hundreds of these at once to be effective and were always escorted

Naaah I guess a SINGLE Fighter Destroying the entire defenses of an Dreadnought is absolutely Fine. I mean can we talk about that bullshit? Also the Hyperdrive thing. Damn i hate and love that Movie.
OP Physics Same. I have a love hate relationship with episode 8. Also I get that they shouldn't be super duper fast, but even if they have a fighter escort, they should still be able to take plenty of hits in case their escort fails at doing a good job, or if the escort is overwhelmed by larger numbers or stronger firepower.
also the resistance bomber has defensive turrets which should be able to take out some fighters that take them on, but they are on a diffrent catigory of craft.
But that Category of Crafts does not work in the Star Wars universe. Those Bombers cant approach any target that has at least one defensive Turret available. You can Snipe those Vehicles out of the Air and they cant do anything about it. The only way that those things would hit anything is if the Target has no Weapons for whatever Reasons (Ahaem Bullshit single Starfighter action ahem) and no halfway competent star fighter Pilot because no one could miss these things from even a mile away. That is just a very bad design.
I would love to see a comparison of the different cargo ships, from the Empire’s to Dash’s ship to the Falcon. I think there’s a lot of material there to discuss.
Vultures and Hyenas rule space.
If you make a few tweaks to the AI in order to allow it to use its I part, I think they would be deadliest. Separatist droids, with the exception of Comando droids, (probably) Magnaguards and Tactical Droids, were limited by design in terms of intelligence in order to prevent an uprising, iirc.
Vultures and Hyenas are also incredibly cheap, costing 19-20.000 and 23.000 credits respectively, ordinance not included. This means that for every TIE fighter you could have 4 Vulture droids (and considering how effective Vultures are despite their limitations, we all know how that would go). And for every TIE bomber (which cost 150.000 each) you could have 6 Hyenas (and you would remain with half the required funds for yet another).
And I compared the prices to the already cheap Imperial assets. If we would be talking Republic, then the ratio would be even higher.

What's great about Hyenas is that they can either dump their payload and then kamikaze into a vessel's bridge or just full kamikaze into a vessel's bridge, with the payload making a larger explosion. All of this is possible because they are dirt cheap

Not the Jahgd mirage as it has the power to destroy planets. Plus Five Star Stories has the tech to rival most of the *Mechanised* forces of the Warhammer 40K series. Read the manga and see what I mean.
Barry Bend in a world where a low ranking Psyker can obliterate a planet... No, it really does not matter what you bring against 40k as it is the power trip fantasy exemplified. I'm not saying five star stories isn't cool and powerful universe. But trying to compare anything to 40k is like asking "who could beat Saitama from One punch man? " the joke is that the power level is so absurd that by asking, one makes a fool out of themselves.
Well for my vs match up suggestions it's if one of these machines can destroy the others with equal experienced crews so no pycher from Warhammer 40k and no divers from Five star Stories, just the pilots and support crews.

the B-wing was actually slower and less well armored than the Y-wing. but was better shielded and it's heavy firepower made up for it's other shortcomings.

Bruce Jedi Lee, Hmmmm... Maybe don't use WH40K, (especially Chaos) for versus because I can already see these scenarios as being one-sided fights. Like the Eldar have Craftworlds which have been known to wipe out entire fleets.
Hydrogen One I don't think it is nearly as one sided as some think. The Tau lost to the Covenant in one of these videos, The Imperium of man didn't get an easy win over the Empire and honestly Crafworlds have also been known to be destroyed or at least pushed back by other fleets. And the Eldars are smaller in numbers and have less resources than the Republic

brak danych The Rakata hasn't demonstrated technology beyond that of the Tau. Nor has anything from 40K shown any levels of technological that is far beyond SW, except for Space Marines.
The droid bombers did what they needed to. In large numbers, with escorts, they could easily overwhelm whatever the Republic threw at us.

braith117 Well I guess it wasn't included because everybody knows it's the worst bomber.
Regardess of how bad it might be, I'm still surprised it wasn't included. It is, after all, a bomber, and has the advantage of a payload that's an order of magnitude larger than the other bombers listed here. Even if it's still last, it would have been interesting to compare and contrast it between the others.
It's probably the best classic example of a bomber out of all of them. The downside of that being that it, like classic bombers, needs an escort on missions because it's almost entirely defenseless. Also it doesn't seem like it was designed for combat outside of atmosphere.
it is so much better than a tie bomber. a single resistance bomber completely destroyed a 7km long first order dreadnaught. the resistance bomber holds over 1000 proton bombs and is actually quite quick. it did not take long for it to cross a 7km long dreadnaught
7km in space is a very very short distance, even in SW. Also it was an extremely flawed design in all aspects, poor defences, poor armour and shields, poor speed and manoeuvrability, poor layout, poor bomb deployment (If it was actually able to move other than a snails pace all those bombs would be spread over a 3km area which is not effective at all), Its no where near cost efficient for the New Republic to have since its obsolete in all aspects, you got better Anti cap bombers: B wing and hell the Y wing and strategic bombing is obsolete since you got Orbital bombardment which does the job better. It makes no in universe sense, and visually it was not even able to capture the essence of WW2 bombing raids.

Can the UNSC and the Covenant survive and beat the Angel Zeruel from Evangelion on Earth when the Covenant first attacked? Zeruel appears out of nowhere in this and is laying waste to everything and everyone that it sees and gets in it's way while trying to look for Lilith on this version of Earth to start the next Impact
coming up on infra-red I think everything in Evangelion is stronger than anything in Star Wars. Especially Zeruels A.T. Field which is one if the strongest. They have nothing to neutralize the angels A.T. Field
Well it does say in the wiki a directed energy weapon can pierce the field so the covenants beam weapon (called an energy projector) might do the job.

shadow carthage but Zeruels A.T. Field is stronger than those of the other angels (Tabris excluded) and for Ramiel it even took japanese whole Energy. I know there are many stronger weapons in Star Wars but Zeruel has also a strong "skin" and in 2.22 in needed EVA-01s particle beam to break the rips and I think that is stronger than many Star Wars Weapons. Also the core needs to be destroyed and that thing is also durable and Zeruel has strong weapons himself so it will be hard
Yes but the covenant have quite a few ships with that weapon on it at the time. And even with the multiple layers of shielding that Zeruel has Those weapons are pretty strong.

you could call this the champion catigory. republic: Yoda, mace or another counsel Jedi. cis could include gevious or count Dokku, empire, darth vader, thrawn, rebellion, all of the main cast. first order, kylo ren and resistance, poe dameron, ray.
I started watching this channel about two months ago and I just wanted to say what you are doing here is really awesome. If I win, I’ll be honest, I haven’t really looked at your shirts, so surprise me, I’m sure they’re all great. The video that I would love to see would be an analyzation of the Clone Wars. This would include looking at the strengths and weaknesses of both armies (obviously referencing comparison videos like this if necessary), who you think would have won the war if the whole thing wasn’t being orchestrated by Palpatine (because, as we all know, the war wasn’t REALLY meant to be won), and any other things that you feel are important to the Clone Wars story. This would be quite a challenging video to make, and also a very long one, but I think that it would be very much worth it. Thanks!
Just one thing: the b-wing was designed with a small target profile in mind. All wings are slim so that it's only got a decent target profile from the side, and even then it's not that deep. If a ship is pursuing from behind it's basically a t with bulges for the cockpit and engines. For a ship of it's size they really minimized the target profile quite effectively. Great video as always - keep it up.
EckhartsLadder! Great video. Could you do a galactic verses. A unified Star Wars galaxy, during the Clone Wars vs a Unified Star Trek galaxy right before the dominion war. Also this is the full star trek galaxy, so the Borg and the entire Dominion empire will be in on this.

Not sure if they could. They arent Phasers most likely not even beam weapons (More like Plasmaweapons and who said that they have the same Frequency with every shot? No i guess this would break down to whatever Side has the Bigger Fleets and Recourses. Another thing is the Technologie Level. If its nearly the Same then an Star destroyer would easely be able to destroy most Warships of the Dominion and the just because there far larger than those ships and are more durable build. However the Ships in star Trek focus more on Speed than their Star Wars equivalents but in my opinion lack the overwhelming Firepower of the Stardestroyers. ( I dont count in those OP Torpedos of Federacy because powerlevels in Sci fi are basically like those in Anime: Unresonable overpowered in some points but not consistent. Correct me if im mistaken anywhere) So id Say the Empire would win because their Fleet is bigger with larger Ships in general. But thats just my Opinion.
If it was the Empire, they would win almost certainly, the Star Wars universe is just more advanced then Star Trek and there is no way around that. Thats why i'm saying we should compare during the Clone Wars that way it would be a little more fair. Venators are smaller then Star Destroyers, and actually some star trek ships are as large as Star Destroyers. Dominion, Jem'Hadar Battleships are only a few hundred meters shorter then a star destroyer, and are basically the star trek equivalent.

They have plenty of flaws, They carried over 100 bombs while a B-Wing or Y-Wing carried 5-20 Bombs, But this means they are very slow and unlike the B-Wing, they NEED a fighter escort

Tankdavid7 the exact complement of bombs the MG-100 StarFortress carried was 1048. If you read the book Cobalt Squadron, it teaches you more about the bombers and how they are capable of manuevering away from asteroids. They could also match the speed of a BTL-A4 Y-Wing Starfighter.

I’m sure this one is probably a really difficult one to do, and is I guess in a way EXTREMELY opinionated, but which factions had the best strategy, strategizers, and tactics, in terms of getting the job done. Specifically on the ground but Air is ok too. Ie: CIS Swarm and tactical droids, republic and Jedi commanders and skill, empire and tactical masters like thrawn with overwhelming force, and and rebels and hit and run tactics. I don’t know, it’s kinda hard to do and I understand that, and it’s really opinionated, but I think it’d be really cool to hear YOUR opinion.

If it's Galactic Civil War period, it's the Empire with Palpatine. If it's just stronger in general, then it's the Rebel Alliance with Luke.

OP Physics During Episode 6, yes he was. So was Vader. Luke didn't become the most powerful until much later. Heck in Dark Empire, Luke only defeated reborn Palpatine because Leia was with him. Once Luke reaches Grandmaster status though, he is the best of the 4 factions. But that is years after Episode 6.

The CIS, it was well hidden, and was never destroyed. The Rebellion didn't really have a headquarters, so they wouldn't count.
I love your videos they are very well thought out and it sounds like you really dig into canon and non-canon sources. Simply being able to make daily videos shows not only your dedication to your channel but also to your subscribers. Keeping them entertained and informed at the same time, making videos on their suggestions and taking all the information wether its canon or not you consider all the variables and even if you don't use a section of it you make sure you tell your viewers that wether it is in that video or the next.

Albedo to me one of the most important leadership qualities is the ability to delegate intelligently. Troop management is essential to victory. Grevious HATED his soldiers, often smashed them himself. Thrawn took what he had and was 15 minutes from defeating the new republic. He knew who to put where and I think that makes him superior.
Fun facts about the Y wing, most had their armor removed and the ion turret with the bubble top got replaced with a normal ion turret to prevent explosive decompression!

2 years late but I think the Spartans would win handedly against Power Armored troops. The latter are, yes, stronger than the average soldier because of the armor but much less mobile and under the armor, they're still normal, unaltered people while Spartans have not only also very strong armor, but are also fast, strong, and altered in a way that gives quite an advantage, not to mention also having the possibility of having an AI assist them.
The b-wing isn’t really a bomber more like a prototype fighter like the tie defender from rebels since it has its own like abilities

I'd say your rankings are spot on. The reason the alliance used the outdated y-wing is because it is so good. Note that the rebel y-wing kept the ion cannons, but automated the turret so the gunner could sit in the main cockpit with the pilot

CIS would win immediately, as the Borg would have very little to assimilate. Only organic commanders would have much, and even then, they were very few, and very difficult to reach.
How easily can the Borg adapt? One Borg cube might be sufficient. Also behind the CIS are planets with lots of... assimilatable people.

Hmmm, look at what the Yuuzan Vong did to the New Republic in Legends... they are kinda the Zerg using mainly organic tech, resistant to the Force. The only difference is that they operate in clans, not in a Hive mind. The Zerg are a combination of Yuuzan Vong and Borg. So I guessCoruscant wouldn't resist a full scale Zerg invasion.
You should make videos about the individual ships of the different factions of the Star Wars EU Legends. Like the fighters of the Rebel Alliance, New Republic, Empire, and Imperial Remnants. Same with the various capitol ships, cruisers, ect.
Just a thought but have you thought of doing one about armored vehicles/walkers? You could do the CIS, Galactic Republic, Empire, and the First Order or even other factions?! Loved the video btw :)

I assume they fire bombs as opposed to just dropping them. Apply some force to the payload and it'll just carry on going in whatever direction it's shot in, at whatever speed it's shot at, forever or until another force acts upon it.

Hyenas are my absolute favorite starfighters in star wars! They can go wicked fast and have powerful payloads. Maybe not as versatile as the republic/rebel fighters, but still awesome
I don’t agree with the B wing being on the list. It doesn’t even have a dedicated bomb bay and I feel it’s in the same category of ship as the ARC-170.
for that matter you could include the x wing, it has proton torpedo's as well. the b-wing is more of an heavy fighter class like the arc-170. the diffrences between the republic y-wing and the rebellion y-wing do include a change in crew requirements, armor, and weapons set up but other than that the fire power and pay load is the same between them. i would give the republic y-wing the edge due to armor and the fact that they had an independent gunner to cover for the pilot and as a second pair of eyes. how ever the rebellion y-wing is still better than the tie bomber but could be challenged by the hyena droid.

@@prithvirajmukherjee6030 they have two artificial gravity generators, one at the cockpit that is constant and one down where the payload is that when you "drop the bombs" turns the gravity generator field around making them all fly out :)
