Good for you. Unless you’re not making the exact same thing then it’s not healthier. Yours is healthier because it’s not the same. You couldn’t make it as well without a bunch of extra steps that most people have no idea about.
I make it at home too. I use davids tea single serving matcha powder, add almond milk, ice and stick it in my blendjet. Add whip cream and a little caramel sauce. Cheap and easy
Ex Starbucks Barista here: The matcha is full of sugar.... The creme base isn't sugary or sweet at all, it's literally chemicals to make the Frappuccino smoother. The classic syrup is what's even making it 10x more sugary. You want this healthier? Asks for less scoops of the matcha, in this case 2 to 3 scoops are fine. Instead of regular milk use a milk alternative. If you don't want that base ( which I would recommend due to it's chemical crap ) it won't make it smoother but you can have them add more milk and triple blend it! Also don't add any whip cream to it if you don't want a lot of sugar, AND tell them NO CLASSIC. You're welcome. 💚
Also, creme base isn't really "chemical crap". The ingredients are: Water, sugar, natural and artificial flavors, xanthan gum, potassium sorbate, and citric acid. Xanthan gum is just a thickener like corn starch. It's used in anything from sauces, soups, salad dressings, ice cream, and basically any bread labeled "gluten free". Potassium sorbate is a salt preservative that you'll find in like, 70% of foods/drinks on the shelf. It helps prevent mold, yeast, and microbes in food/drinks, and extend the shelf life. Citric acid is, again, very commonly used in foods, dressings, dips, juices and other drinks, and candy. Its used either as flavoring to make something taste more sour; or as a preservative by lower the pH so that bacteria doesn't grow. Xanthan gum is the main reason the syrup is used, so if you want to replicate the same concept at home to make things "creamier" just buy and use that. There isn't really any associated health concerns with it. Citric acid is bad for your teeth, but I mean, so is sugar... And seeing as it's the last ingredient listed too.
Cream base = Syrup used for frappes without coffee (strawberry cream, green tea frappe, etc) Frapp base = for frappes with coffee (dark mocha, caramel frappe, etc) Without it it'll be very icy. It won't blend well in the blender and won't get that frappucino consistency. This is sweet too, you can ask the barista for 1 pump at the minimum if you want it less sweet
