I’ve been living in China for 6 years, firstly I want to point out You don’t need a TEFl If you have a a bachelors degree in education A police clearance needs to be valid within 6 months No health check is needed to enter China You’re visa is a 1 year work residence permit, so you’re passport should be valid for a minimum of a year. All of you’re documents need to be notarized
Hi, do you think I stand a chance of being accepted to teach in China if I have a bachelor's degree (in Humanities) and a TEFL certification, but no work experience?

hi please advise if you foud your visa , i amm interested on teaching in china im speaking to few agencies but thats my worry ive got diploma +pgce+tefl+8years teaching expirience
Please tell about scope for non native English speakers for getting teacher job in China. I'm a non native speaker but I have master's in English Literature and also pursuing 120 hours TEFL certificate course for getting job there. Please talk about this in your vlog.
I called the chinese embassy and visa service center from my home country in Australia, and I didnt actually need a bachelors degree, my cert 4 in screen and media from TAFE was eligible for the Z Visa.
Hi Nothando, thank you for the informative vids. I'm interested in knowing how you went about notarizing and authenticating your TEFL certificate if it was acquired online? I'm currently in SA and planning to teach that side.
Hey 🙃, I printed out my e copy certificate on hard/board paper (don't know the exact name of the paper), and I took that colour printed copy to get notarized
Thank you for the information! I have a BA in Geography, but my work experience is not Geography-related. Do you think I have any chance to work as a Geography teacher in China?
I think subject teaching is pretty well covered by locals who can after all teach in Chinese. Exception may be international schools who have expat students following the International Baccalaureate.
@@___Sarah___ Thanks Sarah. Much better pay than regular Chinese schools. My understanding is that int schools require teacher registration in approved countries and several years classroom experience.
Good information with attention to important details but the audio isn't very clear. Also, there's way too much background and it's a little distracting.
You explained the "legal" requirements very well. If I do not meet all the requirements you mentioned ie no degree, can you still get work teaching English privately, say one on one? Do the authorities classify this as "illegal" and is not advised? Do the Chinese people use the "under the table" system?
it's illegal, and if you're caught you will have to pay a fine and leave China immediately. there has been some cases where some have been jailed until they can pay the fee, then afterwards having to leave the country. also, unless you have been living in China for awhile, it would be difficult for you to find students.
@@markmcdonald8985 no problem, let me know if you have any further questions. there are still ways to teach there, but depends on other factors of your situation.
@@markmcdonald8985 if you are a native English speaker from the US, Canada, England, etc. but have no degree, there are still ways. they need you, there is a huge shortage. but you would need to do a few things, and still need a 120 TEFL certificate, clean police certificate, and have confidence to teach.
I'm a Nigerian and basically i speak English since birth 😢 fluently. And im studying English Education. So please make the non English one And I'M EVEN STUDYING CHINESE HSK😂 so They should consider me omg
The Chinese are smart enough to be the industrial hub, technological innovation hub and the fastest developing nation industrially, infrastructurally and technologically. However, they couldn't figure out that South Africa is actually not a native English speaking country but a country with its own native languages but retains English as both its official and educational language. Because if you consider only South Africa among all other nations whose official and educational language is English, then you might as well consider Ghana, Nigeria, the Bahamas, India, Jamaica, Liberia, Sierra Leon and all other countries whose official language is English native English speaking nations as well. I guess they chose South Africa because there's this Asian stereotype about the White Man where they expect or believe the White Man is English. So they get surprised if a White Man can't speak English in Asia. Since South Africa was once an Apartheid state ruled and clolonised by White Dutch descendants and White People still reside in South Africa, I'm guessing this is why they only picked South Africa in all of Africa as Native English speaking nation. Damn!!! How lucky South Africa! You have more opportunities overseas than the rest of us English speaking countries 😢. I love and respect South Africa more than my own country though, particularly its leaders, beacause of their stance against US backed genocide and Apartheid against the Palestinians or against injustice elsewhere around the world

Hello, does a Saqa verified certificate expire or once verified that's it?
Once verified that's it

Hey do you have to certify a copy of your degree before you send it to SAQA or can I just send a copy as it is for verification
I didn't certify mine and they went through just fine
