Hey, in case you haven't heard, on October 17 in Canada it's no longer illegal to ingest marijuana (in controlled amounts, safely and appropriately dressed for the occasion). So it seemed like a good moment to encourage you to try ceramics and make a bong...totally for ornamental reasons, of course.
And seriously, the bongs crafted in Montreal's High Art studio would be at home on a shelf with your most prized possessions - take a look at their Montreal Painters series, a set of collaborations with local artists (you can see a few examples below).
Of course, we wouldn't ask founders Kristian North and Richard Lawson to let us in on all of the secrets of creating one of their glazed and painted vessels. But in this video, they share the basic steps that you must follow to make your own bong.

I have been throwing my body as one piece and then throwing the bowl but handbuilding a slim down stem and then attaching everything. Interesting to see how you guys do it!
I love this! I want to make a bong!
Thanks CBC ❤️
Thank you!
I need one of those.
What type of coating are they using so it's safe to smoke?
How many pounds of clay is that? 5?

In the glazing process, how do you keep the downstem and bowl from closing up?
What do you use for glaze on them? Do you have a recommended brand?

There's no way youre gonna get away with making a pipe or bong without someone knowing that's what you're doing, my man.

Buy one online, make one out of clay with no kiln or throwing table, or make one with glass bottle from parts online...

Art is art, and this is therapeutic for others. Got a problem
Seriously ?
I’ve made a f***load of coffee cups, bottles, and jars; but making a nice bong seems a little intimidating. I appreciate the video, but I think I’ll improvise.
