"Medtner is the greatest composer of our generation" - Sergei Rachmaninoff
I learned this piece op 26 ma y years ago when i was in my teens. After graduating from H.S. i attended our local conservatory and got a B.A. in Piano Performance. I actually worked all my career life as a software programmer retiring from IBM. I truly loved the INTERMEZZO portion immensely. Schumann was such a unique composer!!
This rare recording is such a treasure. I've been listening to this for several years now. Every time I hear Pletnev play Schumann I always want to him play more of Schumann's music.
Благодарю, вас!
А каждой встрече с
Михаилом Васильевичем
радуюсь.
Всего,Вам, доброго!

This Version makes Beautiful Musical Sense !! Mmmmm..Great Cantilena, and Phrasing with Rubato...Stacatto...kinda Chopin-esque in the Romanze Love the Passionate Tension Intermezzo...Such Perfect Use of the Sustain pedal in the Finale...what a very nice Pianoforte..BRAVO Perfprmance !!!

I started studying this last summer but I wasn't able to finish it (my teacher gave me different pieces and kind of left out this). I'm planning on studying ot again this summer because this piece is just so beautiful. I think this version is the best I've ever heard, or at least on the top 3, thank you for sharing
I am learning it now

@@brianbixler5665 Thank you! Great thought!
Never too early to play a piece, apart if your hands are still too small for some!
Strong desire to play will haste your tecnical and artistic skills!
Besides, if you listen to pianists such as Maestro Pletnev you will improve your imagination, courage!
Best wishes, Misha!
@@micaelabonetti949 Thank you! Listening to him all the time!
Good attitude. Happiest new year to you Misha. 1-3-2022
At some point you forget you listen to smb. playing the piano - it becomes like Pygmalion who sculpted his Galatea and you feel damn lucky guy, seeing that.

Good, but Michelangeli is unsurpassable in this piece. (London 1957)
No, Michelangeli is a bit mechanical in the entry.
