What's so mesmerizing about this recording in particular is those very visible contrasts, especially for the first movement, it gives off the feeling that you are in a carnival, and perhaps what Schumann did intend, where he had some time in Vienna. He brings out that four eighth-note motif so well. I love that middle part, with that bit of La Marseillaise, the way he plays that fits that particular theme so well, it sounds so witty.

Currently learning the whole thing. I certainly prefer Cziffra's lower than average tempo, especially in the Finale.
The Intermezzo... That's the Schumann I know and love
Intermezzo was one of my earliest Schumann pieces to learn.

I love Cziffra's Schumann which was also admired by Cortot.
I totally agree with you.
His Schumann is actually my favourite of his performances.
Schumann. His Fantasie Opus 17 is also a remarkable piece of musical artistry..I just love Robert Schumann, especially his Toccata Opus 7
His live accounts of these are even more exhilarating to listen to !
Bellisima interpretacion plena de matices y colores
Nice to hear how Cziffra sounds in some easy music 😂
Beautiful version!!!
Finally !

Who cannot LOVE this Intermezzo?
Nice
