  • This 40 minute 5000 steps walking workout will help you to lose weight and burn fat while having fun walking and dancing to upbeat music. If you're used to working out with 'Improved Health', this is considered an intermediate level workout. Total step count today is 5140 steps (including the stretching exercises at the end).

    love this. just perfect for me this rainy afternoon. First time doing a workout this long but totally enjoyed it. been following you since August last year, and with a healthy diet and your workouts I've manage to lose 2 and half stone, I'm so happy. thank you for your amazing videos don't know what I would have done without you ❤🥰

    I love the way you add short messages of encouragement on screen. I'm not sure how it works but they give me a little energy boost.

    I was gone from here for about 3 weeks with a stomach flu and ended up in ER because doc said I was low on potassium from dehydration so that's why it's important to stay hydrated even when you don't feel thirsty. I kept working out a little anyway and I just finished this workout and it was great. Glad to be back! Thanks for keeping me motivated!

      Oh wow! I'm glad to read that you're better now and also understand the importance of staying hydrated (especially when doing these workouts). I find it's best to keep a reusable water bottle beside me in the day to ensure I drink enough. It's so easy to forget to drink enough if the water isn't beside us. By having the bottle, it also allows you to see how much (or how little) you're drinking.

    I did it! Wasn’t going to - just 10 minutes I said to myself. Couldn’t stop, lovely moves and music and lots of happy vibes coming through the screen. Jules, you really are a star.

      Oh, AMAZING!!! I love that you started with the plan for 10 min, yet finished it! I often suggest to people to promise yourself to do 10 minutes, because it's enough to get energized...and then people usually do more.

    I am loving this!!! I am so happy that you move to the beat of the music so it's easy to follow. I can hardly tolerate ones who are way off beat. This is really working my entire body. Thank you.

      Thanks Tina! I think most of us actually do move to the beat...it's during the editing process that sometimes throws it off (it's really difficult to match the music perfectly to the steps since the music gets added in while editing). I can't tell you how much time I've spent listening over and over to the music while watching my feet to match it up. Anyway, just a bit of side info of how the process works:) I'm glad that you enjoyed this one!

    I just wanted to say thank you for creating this 40 minute video. I used to do the 10,000 steps one and stop it at 40 - 45 mins because that's all the timeI have before work in the mornings, and I also struggle to go on longer than that. This video is the perfect length and has similar music to the 10,000 steps one. Really grateful for this.

    I wanted to quit but I didn’t. I slowed down a bit the second half and was able to complete the whole workout. I am extremely proud of myself lately for sticking with my daily workouts and choosing longer ones as well. There is such a variety! Thank you Jules, for making it possible for seniors especially. I wouldn’t feel this good without you!😊💛

      I'm so glad to read that you're committed to taking care of your health, and not allowing excuses. When I see a lot of frail seniors, I always wish they would have worked out and not given excuses, either. Getting older doesn't mean getting weak. We can absolutely be strong as we age if we just keep at it.

    5,000 felt like 500! You are the deejay of walking the way you mix up the moves and add just the right music. The one legged double side kicks were great as were the jumping jack double front kicks. Also always appreciate the written motivation and water breaks.     Oh yess Cynthia we did it 🎉 and I feel sooooo good! Every minute was perfect julie!❤ even if this morning at 7h I did a 30 min 😮 I cood not wait tomorrow to do this one.     Love it! For the better part of a month, I got out of my routine of exercising to your videos. It's easy to come up with excuses, and then one day leads to another. I did not think I would make it through the entire video since it is longer, but I did. I barely looked at the count down clock, because the routine and your motivational sayings (which always speak to me) kept me so engaged. You are inspirational!     Thanks, Jules! My health is improving! After a couple of months of doing your workouts, I actually WANT to workout daily. I would never have desired to attempt a 40 minute workout a few months ago, but now I love the positive mood I’m gaining by moving my body. I’m stronger, have more stamina, losing weight, dropped a clothing size, and I really look forward to exercising after at least 35 years of neglecting my body.     🎉Thank you so much for making these videos. I made an agreement with myself this year to move my body more than last year. You are helping me immensely. I am 66 and giving my body and especially my lungs a good workout 5-6 days per week. COPD is not getting in the way of my enjoyment of living. Thanks for the great energy you bring!     We've had contractors in all week so this is the first day I've had more than 1/2 hour to exercise-- I really didn't feel the time pass, it was really fun and I love the older music--"you always thought that you were weak but babe, you're wrong" is exactly right.     Excellent workout Jules! I’ve been doing your 20 minute, 140 bpm workout X 2 every morning 6 days a week (Sundays off). I wanted to change things up every third one but thought this might not be intense enough (I approximate this one to be about 128 bpm) but I was wrong! My sweatometer (back of neck) told me it worked just fine (running in spot for 30 seconds straight instead of 5/5 helped). Thanks Jules, your work is appreciated!😅

      I'm so glad that this one passed the test!😉If you ever want more out of a workout, just add in some jogging/running intervals into them from time to time, and it'll make a big difference with getting a sweat-on:)

    The motivation of the beautiful music of different types including the fun song of skipping, your kind words with wisdom and encouragement is strong enough to keep me moving,moving to finish!     love the calendar I dont have to waste time looking for the workout i want to do and ill cover all bases when i do the weeks workouts
    i like the 30 sec intervals and the upbeat music and you always look like you are having a good time
