Rainbow Crochet Slippers ~ Super quick and easy!

- These adorable rainbow crochet slippers are super quick and easy to work up! All you need is a little bit of cotton yarn, some squishy plain sandals, and a little bit of hot glue and you can have some super cute crochet shoes to wear to the beach, or simply to lounge around and run errands in.
This design is actually very easy to adjust to your personal size. I have written out the entire concept with photos for those of you who would like to read about it before starting your project. You can find the entire pattern for free on my blog here: daysck.com/crochet-for-days/c...
And I of course explain how to adjust it to your size in the video. But if you are like me, I like to have a full grasp of how it all works before diving into the project. I feel it's quite simple to understand once you get the hang of it.
Since this project is based on a concept and is adjustable per shoe size, I do not list a gauge or a finished product measurement. Don't stress about this! Gauge is not imperative in this project. I do, however, recommend that you use the suggested yarn size. If you use any thicker yarn, it will look disproportionate.

Supplies Needed
-Approx. 100-115 yds of lightweight or sport weight cotton (size 2 or 3 will work). I used Yarn Bee Mini Cotton Sugarwheel for mine and separated the colors out. I also used Knitpicks Shine sportweight cotton in the color black. You shouldn’t need more than 15-20 yards of any one color.
This yarn assortment from Amazon is a good choice: amzn.to/3O9chA7
-Size 3.75 mm hook
-Slide-on thick-cushioned sandals in the size of your choice. I got mine from Hobby Lobby in the Spring Shop, but Temu also carries this same sandal here: share.temu.com/HgsW65vmzyA
-2 stitch markers
-Hot glue gun and glue sticks
-Tape measure, tapestry needle, scissors

Temu carries the same exact shoe I used. I've linked them on my blog post where the written pattern is. You can find the blog link in the description box.
Cute. How well is the hot glue holding up on the rubber over time?
I just made them the first time last week, so as far as time goes, I've not had enough to tell. There doesn't appear to be any weakness in the attachment anywhere. And for $7 total cost in my project, I'm not going to be terribly upset if it doesn't hold for years on these slides.
@@DaysCrochet good point about the $7. Or maybe try a gorilla glue if it comes loose? The reason I ask about the glue is I'd like to do this too, I don't like the kind that go between the toes.
@@georgiacorey954 I worry about some glues eating or chemically melting the yarn, so I tend to stick to hot glue when possible
Cute use of God’s rainbow & Hobby Lobby slides! 🥰🥰
