I had the same issue!!! It looked like Herman Munster's Bootie! I halved the number of stochastic in the original circle and then made the number of rows before the heel based on trying it on my foot. Hope that helps.

In the video the hooksize seems too small for the yarn. I would either use a smaller hook or decrease the number of Stiches.

Something I found helpful for those with smaller feet is to decrease the amount of rounds before getting to the heel (i used 12 rounds excluding the first 3 starting rounds), as well as slightly decreasing the stitch count for those rounds from 27 to say 25. I would put the sock on my foot to gauge how big it was

Mine also came out very large. If you stop increasing at the round with 16 SC and follow the pattern that way it fits better. For the heel part do 5 SC back and forth if you use this size.

Thanks for a great pattern! I love these booties!!! Super easy and fast and so comfy! I have small feet so used a 5.5 mm hook for bottom portion in all single crochet. I used Big Twist Hush (bulky 5) which works up a bit stiffer than the Bernat so I switched to a 6.0 mm for top part and did all double crochet on top. Great instructions and easy to follow. I was confused about this as well but theres a comment she made that you just keep going till 27sts, it's a bit more than 1 round!
What I found was a little easier was for my brain to comprehend:
Round 1: 6 sc in first loop of chain (6 st)
Round 2: 2 sc in each st (12 st)
      Round 3: 2 sc than 1 sc (18 st)
      Round 4: 2 sc than 1 sc (27 st)

I had to measure! Because when I did 18 rounds the slipper could fit a giant. Lol. My ladies size was 6 inches before the heel, so 13-14 rounds. Then I followed the pattern in the video for the heel (10 rows and closing the heel). My mens size I had to increase the toe size to 30 instead of 27, as 27 was too narrow for the man's wider foot. Then I measured the lenth to 7-8 inches, i forget how many rows i ended up with, but the heel i followed the pattern in the video. They turned out fantastic! I used a 6.0mm hook.

Madam I have to turn around and tell you what a wonderful job you did on explaining I haven't had one person yet on UA-cam explaining detailed by detail and being slow about it and have us beginners understand what you're doing I thank you very much for this and I have subscribed to you but there is one question I need to ask you and that is I wear a size 6 how do you determine what size slipper to make or it doesn't matter I'm a beginner at crocheting thank you again for teaching us how to do slippers

How does the sock not get wider, while you do it? I’m a beginner and I failed my 11th attempt to make those😢
They just get progressively wider after the 2sc 1sc crocheting😭😭
