Crochet, like knitting, is the knotting of yarn or thread into fabric. Don't worry about tying knots. Man, do I need a pair or ten of these. Looks like I need to hit up Target. Thanks so much for posting this!
You're channel popped up when I was watching another crochet channel. I'm so glad it did. I love your projects and the way you give direction. You explain it with so much detail. Anyone who can't crochet with your videos, shouldn't be crocheting, lol. I can't wait to check out more of your projects.
I think I'm going to try this, but I may gorilla glue another sole onto the bottom, once I'm done, for double thick cushion, and then put some hotglue into the holes to keep my feet dry if I have some rain or some such. But I love the idea and how you've made it look so casual, but extra pretty. Well done~!
These would make amazing personal gifts. My sisters and mom are gonna love it. And it will be an homage to my late grandmother. She made all of her children and grandchildren blankets before she passed.
Those are beautiful. May I suggest using a drop of shoe glue inserted into each hole after the yarn is crocheted in to help hold the stitching in place, or to keep the rubber soles from cracking since making the holes might weaken the soles? Just a thought for extra durability. Anyway, your sandals are quite beautiful! Yes more designs! :D
I haven't done this yet but I was thinking that instead of piercing thru the side, how about straight down and then glueing a whole 'nother sole to the bottom. Thus reinforcing and protecting the stitching And making for a nice cushy shoe. Maybe?
Love the sandal. I'm starting a trial pair now with a dollar store flip flop and some scrap cotton yarn. The only thing I'm going to do differently and I mention this so others might think also a nice addition is to do the base stitch that goes through the holes all the way around. Then you have a nice decoration and you can attach the toes part to it with no ends to weave in. Also maybe a contrasting yarn just to make it stand out instead of hiding it. I like a bit of bling.
I absolutely loved these. I made a pair with white flip flops and white red heart yarn. Because my sole and my yarn were the same color, I didn't change colors. They look great and I've been wearing them since I've finished them.
If you want to save a step, use rows 12 and 13 as your rows for the ties. So you do row 12 of the heal, and instead of going back to do row 13 of the heal, you start on the first row of the right tie, then after the extra 71 chains, you slip stitch back, and then start on row 13 of the heel, then do your 71 chains for the left tie, then do your slip stitches, and attach the bottom of the left tie to row 12. The ties won't be perfectly symmetrical with each other when untied, but you will have continuously used your ecru without slip stitching over row 13, and when the ties are tied together, the bow should look fairly symmetrical.
i did slippers with flip flops. one thing that i did was use my taperstry needle to feed the yarn through instead of going through twice. love the design will be making lots my girls love sandles!
I have planters so the cute sandals hurt my feet. I made my own comfortable sandals because it was hard to find cute affordable ones. I used old navy as the bottom and then used another material for 5he middle and top layers. I crocheted my straps then blinged it out with gems. I like your sandals.
Lol!! " A Stabber" lol! It actually called an hole punch or awl( sp) used in shoe and belt making also most leather work 😊 loved this pattern and have made so many pairs in an array of colors and textures. Love them and thanks 😊
Made in Michigan 67 thank you so much for the name. I just went in Home Depot looking for a “stabbing tool “ laughing 😆 under my breath the whole time, for lack of a better word.
@@lisaharris7629 awe! Just trying to help out a fellow crafter. I'm in love with these sandals and I've already made a few pairs for family and friends so thank you 😊 They've made great handmade gifts 💖
I thank you so much because all the projects that you make are great and I love them, and they are so easy for me. you take your time and that is so good for me.
Well made my first pair they are pink, going to make in other colors and styles...not bad for first time .., can't wait until the weather gets warmer so I can wear them....Thank u again....
I love the way you take your time, make sure we can see what you are doing. I haven't made these yet, but definitely my next project. thanks for sharing
Thank you!!!I Love this tut sooooo much!!!!Can hardly wait to try this pattern.Would love to see more .Thanks again and you are a wonderful teacher.I don't know how to read patterns but can easily follow tutorials.
I am getting married March 27th to my High School sweetheart after 30 yrs, and I think I have finally found my wedding shoes!!!! I am making wrist corsages and boutonnieres for my bridal party based on your roses video! I know you are a busy lady or I would ask you to allow me to pay you to make me a pair of these that would be sooooooo special to me on my wedding day, but alas I know its a pipe dream :-) I know your time is valuable and would cause you too many issues with others! Thank you for the great tutorial!
I love this pattern. I ran across it while looking for something different to crochet. I started with an orange pair that someone gave me. They are my least favorite pair, so I'm calling them my trial and error pair. One thing; don't pull stitches too tight, I'm working on the sole stitches and some of mine are already threatening to pull through the top. If they hold until I finish the pattern, I believe I'll use a little dab of glue. Hopefully my trial and error pair will help me work out all the kinks for doing a second pair.
I like ur tutorial... I like the way u explained... very easy and fun way to make that this project...I am learner of chrochet and still manage to make this shoes...and its came out so beautiful... thanks for sharing...
Absolutely LOVE these! Except for the hole making, these were really fun to make! Would love to see more. Maybe closed toe. Thanks for sharing your design!
Thanks for the tutorial! I have been planning to make these all summer, so today I finally just sat down and got it done! They turned out great! Thanks again for the inspiration! :)
Hi I really loved this tutorial. Definitely going to try these at some point. Although it's getting a but cold here in dublin. I made my very first cardigan from a garter stitch sweater tutorial of yours. I just split the front into two. Was very proud of myself. Thank you.
Youve given me lots of ideas thanks alot. I do have a question though. You said for the top it's multiples of 4 + 2. You had 19 stitches. Did I miss something is the extra stitch a chain 1 for turning? Thanks again. Great idea!
Sewrella...great video. Great directions. Great looking sandals. How would I make a pair with closed toe? I wear a leg brace and don't want it to slide out toe area. I wear size 6 shoe. Sometimes 5 in flips. Thank you.
Love these! I was looking for something like this, thank you! Allready made a pair like these, with some minor adjustments for the strings as I don't like to tie them around my ancle.
I totally LOVE this! ❤ I plan to try it one day. May I make a suggestion? Is there any way you can find reinforcements, perhaps metal or plastic tubes for the holes? My fear is that the crochet will tear out of the rubber with walking.
IMO the quality of the flip flops makes a huge difference. If I may suggest, don't use the dollar tree flip flops. Old Navy has more durable flip flops.
Thank u for sharing , I love crocheted projects and will be attempting to make a pair very soon. I love pink and red so if my first pair is successful I will be making more..
Really lovely sandals… would’ve loved for you to walk on them… (or a model) why do they have to be smaller than your regular size? Do they feel very lose? Are they really comfy? Great video tho… thanks! 🧶🧶🧶
I have a small foot too. Size 4. So guess I will need a 2-3 flip flop. Oh boy, I hope they don't have Hello Kitty on them or something embarrassing like that. LOL
just a reminder. Those holes in middle of soles there is a safety issue. Any pebbles, small rocks, or little tree branches or whatever can stab bitten of ur feet tho as u are walking in then outside. other then that it's a nice idea. beautiful. Just think of filling those holes with some show glue or something before u make the tope of sandal. No one even thought of that in comments.
Perfect! Thank you so much for the instructions, I just can't stand flip flops as they hurt and I can never find some good plain sandals that fit my narrow feet
I was terrified the entire time you were stabbing the flip flops because of your left hand position in relation to the stabbing tool ... eeek! Awesome project, thank you!

I know this comment is old, I used clear E6000 to hold mine and one year later still no issues.

seriously dear you are our-some really this shoes are really beautiful and hope and wish that i will be able to make then myself
