The better show
This theme is so comforting, I always come back here once in a while. Takes me back to a simpler time 💖
Yeah, kinda makes me sad tho
same here. miss simpler times

I miss this show. It brings back the good old days, late 90s/early 2000s. Only people between the ages of 27-42 can relate the nostalgia of the intro.
Lol im 41 I barely fit in.
I was gonna dispute you, but I see you posted this 3 years ago. I was gonna say 31-45 but if we add 3 years to your years it's about the same lol.
I was born in 1984 and now I'm 38. So I'm one of them!
Born in 1988. I wanted to be Chris and go with Cassidy. Saved By The Bell East Coast!!!
True I'm 36 and I didn't realize how good we had it back then. No cellphones, barely any internet.going to the mall and the park was so much better than instagram, tiktok or Facebook.. I'm about to shed a tear 😂😂😂
THATS MY DAD WHO RECORDED THIS VERSE! HE GETS A HUGE CHECK EVERYTIME THE SHOW IS AIRED BRING BACK CITY GUYS
Micah Wall what's your dads name? And prove it!
@IG:OMDYNAZTY I agree that peter rabbit is lying and he knows it!!
Well
That dope.
I doubt it. Only show creators make money on repeats. The actors get less and less money as the years go by.
Haven't heard this song in a long time
On UA-cam City Guys was my
Favorite show growing up in the
90s.
Time 7:38AM Tues 7/21/20
If you was a kid during this time you either late 20s or early 30s great times and crazy how life breezes by I would have appreciated those times if I knew what I know now.
Im 29 the late 90s was the best♥
Facts I'm 28

Wrong a lot of teenagers watched this show too. That means people between the ages of 35-42.
Btw, I'm 38
I so miss the 90s/early 2000s. I woke up every Saturday morning watching this show in the late 90s. Brings back memories
Lowkey one of the best theme songs for any show, and definitely the most underrated.
FYI…This show is on the TNBC channel for a week on the Roku channel or Freevee app starting tmrw for a week and it rotates every 6 weeks
This brings back so much memories, I swear the world was a whole different place before smartphones & social media
I totally agree!
@@meowkris same!!
I'd say life was more simple back then.
I was just saying how us meeting friends at the park or the mall was so much better than being on social media
When life was simple. Miss those young days of Saturday morning and breakfast already cooked. Family was more close and people still alive.
Nailed it bro.
@@TheForeignNationalBornNatural Indeed bro.

@@HereForTheComments yes indeed. If I only knew back then what I know now.

@@jordanbyrd9821 Yup
I used to love this show
I see this and think about my dad he died when I was nine. We use watch this shit everyday after school. I love you pops
I loved TNBC Saturday mornings back in the late 90s when I was 8-10 years old. Can't believe it's been 20 years now. There were some great shows with City Guys, One World, Hang Time, Saved by the Bell: The New Class. And I for one thought it was a perfect flow to ABC's TGIF Friday night line-up. Spend Friday evenings after school watching TGIF, and then wake up Saturday morning watching TNBC. Good times.
The late 90s was worth watching tv ....compared to streaming of today. And to be honest I really miss That.
Perfect weekend. I had to screenshot this.👌👌
Dude I loved this show as a kid I’m 30 now rip 90s childhood
Omg pete n peteeee
Thanks pete
Same here!
Even early 2000s were good kinda holding on to the 90s.
Saved by the Bell in the inner city.
Omg Saturday mornings brings back memories
Facts
When tv shows had meaning. When Saturday morning were great. This is a classic show miss shows like this. This was in 1999-2000 I'm old lol. Still a great show.
Cable has a lot of great stuff. Saturday morning programming has depleted over the years because of FCC regulations to make programs more educational.
True
Yeah I was a 90's kid too who loved this show also!
@gibbs 615 great times.
@NeoGeo12 very true. Guess nothing last forever.
City Guys used to be on NBC back in the 90s on Saturday mornings
Late 90s early 2000s such a nostalgic era
Facts
Everything about this show was great. The diversity of characters being played and storyline of each episodes miss the old tv days.
Plus it was the most edgy show on TNBC....

Amen to all that😉
@@gibbs615 💯💯
The show was great, it was actually my favorite Peter Angel show, it probably would've lasted longer mabey into college but Peter Angel retired.
When BET put this back on tv i was like YES! BET might turn it around....2 weeks later it wasnt coming back on and i got sad....

Classic
My god this show popped into my head I remember the theme almost totally forgot about this show. I watched it when I was like 11-12 years old man I miss the 90s and 2000s..
I remember this show very well when it was apart of the TNBC program on Saturday Mornings, how it was simple back then in the day.
True words. Hope this helped to bring you back for a minute!
Josiah Merola Didn't take long, I was starting my 7th Grade year in Middle School when it first aired in the Fall of 1997. That term Middle School seems to not exist anymore.
+Miller2h41 bruh!! Me too...I was in 7th grade when the show started and watched it All the way to 2000 my freshman year. I never used the word middle school..I always said Junior High lol
+Nick Lee Well the school I attended had the Middle School name to it
+Miller2h41 YEA DUDE IT WAS SIMPLE IN THOSE DAYS MAN I MISS THOSE DAYS!!!
Loved City Guys. Used to watch it every morning before school. Love from the UK
Hey, thanks from USA! I didn’t know City Guys aired in the UK, that’s very cool. Glad you found the video!
Yaas! T4 lineup, with Mikita Oliver and Simin Amstell. Great times
City Guys from the Producer of Saved By the Bell, California Dreams and USA High
Jamal Grant & Chris Anderson are the City Guys, Jamal was the cool dude from Harlem and Chris was the preppy dude from Park Avenue that would usually act like a mess, plus I use to call them the Starsky & Hutch of the show
Dawn Tartikoff was the environmentalist and she was beautiful as well
Alberto "Al Rocket" Ramos was the cool dude, in the 1st season and Lionel "El Train" Johnson was the bully in the 1st season as well, but when those 2 got together since Season 2, they became 2 big messes that made me laugh for entertainment
Cassidy Giuliani was not only beautiful, but she was HOT and her voice was also beautiful as well, I was so happy to see her and Chris make an item, plus Dawn & Cassidy were sort of like the Thelma & Louise of City Guys
Principal Karen Coretta Noble aka Francine Tibideaux from The Cosby Show and Grandma Cece Jenkins on Ghostwriter was not only a tough/no nonsense principal, but she became like the mentor and the mom to the City Guys as well as to their friends Dawn & Cassidy & Al & El-Train
God Bless Everyone who made City Guys an AWESOME 90's Teen Show, God Bless Peter Engel and Director Frank Bonner aka Herb Tarlek from WKRP in Cincinnati for a job well done
Personally, I like this show, USA High and California Dreams WAY better than Saved By the Bell
T-Bone Hubbard I like your description, I watched Saved by the Bell from the beginning but California Dreams and City Guys was it for me, that was the last thing to watch on Saturday’s mornings before getting kicked out the house til 5 unless it was raining.
T-Bone Hubbard loves saved by the bell, but agree this was so much better. More diverse, honestly more relatable.
The good old days baby my my my
L Train was my favorite cause his character was from my hood
I agree with this wholeheartedly, don't get me wrong saved by the bell became a classic and still enjoyable, but when california dreams and city guys came around it was basically game over there because those two don't get enough credit or much rotation nowadays. wish these two was on streaming services frfr
Man if this theme tune was a single I'd buy it yesterday
For real! I felt the same way about the "All That Theme Song."

Song is dope.
I remember watching this when I was a kid in elementary school in the mid to late 90s.
this was always on my list of things to watch during my days off "sick" from school
Once you look past the fact it's another Peter Engel show, you could easily forget it because City Guys had a refreshing beat, different from his other high school setting shows like Saved by the Bell and Hang Time. Whether it's the setting, the cast, or the storylines, they all made for a good Saturday morning show growing up with memories to look back on, good enough for us to wish to go back in time.
great show. cast had great chemistry.
trucvylucky852 Yes they did. Highly underrated sitcom.
Definitely
Especially the main two city guys.
I had the BIGGEST crush on Wesley Jonathan back then.
_yeah he’s really handsome now and especially back then too_

This is probably the best tv theme ever..low key
When TV show intros had 30 second to a minute and a half theme songs, and always showed the city or town they were filmed in...Now, TV intros are faster than a blink and nonmemorable. This intro tune was always catchy.
New York Undercover did it best.
Me at work in 2024 for no reason at all: C-I-T-Y …
I wish they would release this and hang time on dvd
You can stream City Guys on Tubi!
I was bummed, too. You can find a lot of episodes on UA-cam or around the Internet, though.
Remember all the special features that were in certain episodes?? ... This brings back some great memories
Watched this every Saturday... I miss the 90's... :-(
This program was always one I loved....On Saturday mornings,we would go through so many cartoons and shows, because there were a variety on network television at the time.City Guys was a show that you loved even as the intro came on...I wish today's era, would go back and see our era in the 80s and 90s,and see how great television was back then...Today's stuff is a bunch of garbage...
Well put, friend.
+birdcantfly15 those shows have season and half ofhtose shows are gonna end
I totally agree.
there's still good stuff today, but I do miss the more realistic teen sitcoms.
I watched the whole tv series on youtube!!!
i think im going to do the same and see if i still like it
where you got a link please?
Was my favorite sitcom in the late 90s,damn time flies, I was 15 when this sitcom aired its 1st episode in 1997
This was a great show but I don't know any high school principals that always stay in the kids business in and outside of school the way Ms noble did lol
I remember watching this as a kid..underrated
I Remember Watching Saturday Morning Kids Shows When I Was 4 Back in 1997 I Remember Watching Disney's 1 Saturday Morning On ABC (WLOX) Fox Kid's (WXXV) CBS Kids (WHLT) & Teen-NBC (WDAM) All My Life
When IU was in Manhattan this weekend riding the L train I had this theme song in my head.
every now and then i get it stuck in mine too and i finally decided to see if it was on youtube
Only one 90s show had a better Intro theme. That was “New York Undercover”.
Dang this brought back memories of coming home from school turning on the WB (Now the CW) and watching this I miss my childhood 😢
god this show represents such a specific era and time in my life for me. i think it was either the wb or upn that would play these episodes- i gotta see if its on youtube and rewatch it
I don't know if it was an issue of being 'black enough'... I would assume it was just too juvenile for their liking. Maybe the rights to the show ended up costing more than BET liked, or maybe the ratings were just terribly low. Any way it worked out, it was a real shame it came and went so fast. But it makes me think another network may buy rights and show it again in the future. Have hope, friend. :)
Juvenile? Well, it *WAS* a Saturday morning TNBC show, yo! 😎🏛️
“ SO HIP HOP HOORAY HEY ! HO ! HEY ! HO ! “
THERE’S NO DENYING THAT. 🤣
This is the shit, totally 90's.
I remember WGN Superstation showed this in the mornings in 2002-03!!!!!!!
Yessss
This theme song just popped in my head and i didn’t even remember what it was from🤦🏾♀️
This came on before I was dropped off at school. I was in the 8th grade and the year was 2001.
Omg I missed these shows on Saturday mornings straight life.
Used to be on tnbc and syndication too like Monroe Louisiana Aired at 1:30 p.m on the wb in the early 2000s!
This was my Show.
Man, I really remember how much I liked this tune as a kid.
Back in the day I thought I was so cool watching this 🤩 The theme tune would kick in and I’d be jumping out of my seat 😁
I went to Bowie High school in Maryland with Caitlin Mowrey. She was cute.
Saved by the bell, hang time, city guys,California dreams favorite Saturday morning shows
This just made my Saturday ❤
This theme song definitely captures NYC in the late 90s. I was about 16 or 17 when this show came out and I thought it was a little cheesy, but cute
I used to love this intro, love it still. Gives me good memories seeing this after ages. Just thought about this show n it was deep, covered everything n funny as hell. Every actor portraying their character was on point n the show gave good vibes
One of the most underrated 90s sitcoms.
Admit it: You searched for this. But what made you do it? 🤔😄
I knew this show was real!
CITY GUYS IS NOW STREAMING ON TUBI. All 5 seasons free
It sure is! What a treat for City Guys fans
One World is on there as well.
This theme song gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling of being free from school. The pilot episode premiered just two and a half months after I graduated high school, which was actually the Saturday before school reopened. Just knowing there was no such thing as 13th grade, made that weekend all the more merrier. Keep in mind I was not the most studious, and therefore went to summer school all throughout high school, excluding my senior year when I finally buckled down. Therefore, I didn't have any goals or dreams, and still lived with my mother until I was 27. But I would gladly rewind the hands of time, to be living with my her while young and carefree. Damn you, Father Time.
I just thought of this now 😂🤣
NBC Saturday mornings 🙌🙌
One of the hardest intros. And a genuinely underrated sitcom.
That show was the ish, I wish TEENick would rerun old episodes of it.
Angelo Laporte Should be on TV One weekdays 12 & 12:30pm
TV One is owned by NBC
Why? (B4 your answer: ↑)
Yeah they should do that.
Scott was in 2 of the mighty duck movies
I pretty much blinked and missed "City Guys" brief stint on BET, and kicked myself for it. I liked the show a lot as a teen (+1 for being set in NYC, my lifelong home!). Perhaps it wasn't "black enough" for BET dare I say, and they pulled it off after just two weeks?
i think it ran as reruns on bet, from other comments im gathering this was originally a tnbc show
i could not agree more!
The nostalgia is real
I can hear wesley jonathan singing 😮😍😍😍
Lol this show was definitely underatted.
Use to love this show. This theme song was the official start to my Saturdays as a kid.

This was my all time favorite show in elementary school to this day. Shows like this definitely molded me to be street smart, and encouraging me to be book smart. The lessons, and hidden messages. My heart breaks for the upcoming generation, cause what they have to look up to can't compare to what a 90's kid grew up with.
