The atmosphere of the two episodes with the blonde witch and her undead right hand felt great to me. Easy to forget these two aren’t the protagonists, lol.

Well in this case they are a zombie of a sort that used to be human. But Witches are massively more powerful than most but not all other magic casters. The guy he's about to slice up just normal human necromancer who was taking shortcuts the type of undead a witch necromancer can make are vastly superior what to what normal humans can do.
gore in anime doesn't usually get me cuz i can separate it from real life, but that last shot of the old man... my stomach legit turned, dear lord :(
That guy totally sucks so don't feel bad. The show doesn't hold back though. Some scenes have been pretty gruesome so far
