Hellish Quart - 38 Kill Survival Streak with Marta

- This time I tried survival mode for the first time in 3 months!
I made a video because I was able to break my own record after the first try after a long time👍
I think that no matter how many times I try Survival Mode in Marta in the future, I will not be able to break my record any more😓
Thank you for watching♪
I will continue to make videos of various genres of games on this channel, so please watch again if you like😄

Just passing by to remember that Miyamoto Musashi survived more than 60 real duels against the strongest swordmans of this age and live to tell about it.
Strongest swordsmen in Japan not Europe, China, Mongolia, Middle East JAPAN!!!
_Pretty_ [citation needed] given the amount of outright legend around the guy and the usual embellishments over the centuries. The timeline on Wikipedia lists some 13 and that's _incuding_ the ones where the actual historical existence of the opponent is a matter of some contention like Sasaki Kojirō and Shishido...
Also for the record not all fought with swords, nor were all the duels mortal - the _musha shugyō_ would not have been a terribly viable tradition in general had that been the rule.
He was crafty though. He used to intentionally turn up late so his opponents would be frustrated and tired.
@@2gunzup07 Of course, at the time no swordsman travels the world in a Boeing to prove itself like an Street Fighter franchise. Even the Europeans, Chinese, Mongolian and the middle easterns don´t do that either.
@@mindoftheswarm7 My boss uses the same tactics with me.
I was going to say this feels very The Witcher 3 esque, turns out the guy leading the dev team was the senior animator on The Witcher 3
Is not the soundtrack the same as in The Witcher 3?
The scimitar slashes remind me of Hearts of Stone a lot! Nice catch
@@hkruso not the same composers as TW3 but definitely inspired by it
@@athmaidits just from slavic folklore and a lot of Polish regional music. It dosent sound like Witcher. Its simply Polish sounding
Oh wow that actually explains a lot. I remember all the medival combat nerd youtubers were talking about how everyone but Geralt fights super realistically.
All I want to say is, her snaps make this so much more enjoyable.
Bro, worth it.
Least enjoyable part for me
It's like she's saying, "I'm done with this chump. Bring in another, Jeeves." LOL!
Snap and head roll!!!lol hilarious!!
Snap and then hair flip
I love the realism of one stab wins instead of health meters.
Edit: I'm not sure why you misinterpret the word "win" with "kill." I didn't say that 1 stab will kill. I said in this game it could end a fight.
This and the fact you can finish a fight with a good hit in the hand that holds the sword...
Not exactly realistic. Most people can survive multiple stabs and live to tell the tale.
@@therambler3713in real life once you were stabbed and injured you would be stabbed again
Did you use a controller for this game?
@flygirlsonly in an unorganized fight, yeah, you would get stabbed into oblivion. However, duels had strict codes of conduct, similar to modern Olympic style competitions. Most duels weren't to the death, although many combatants died, even "winners." That's another thing I liked. Even if you win, you're in danger of opponents that are willing to go for double kills.
It took another Marta to finally break the streak. Love the snap. Her stance alone is intimidating enough to force a mistake in engagement.
You don't practice anything close to hema or weapons combat, stop trying to act tough online
The dress also makes it hard to see her footwork
*Snap* "Attendant! Clean up this mess."
Also longer weapon does a lot here
@@daanstrik4293like the chinese girl in Tekken and her chinese dress that hides her legs
The animation in this game is crazy. All the procedural animation when the swords are clashing really makes it look like I’m watching two people fight. This is probably one of the most unique fighting games I’ve ever seen. Also, Marta’s snap is so fierce I love it.
Except the awkward win animations
idk why i got recommended this, i've never heard of this game before but this was fun to watch
Maya Habee Thanks for the video😄
Sometimes you come across videos on UA-cam that you don't know why they were recommended to you😓
Still, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Me neither
Same 😂
I haven’t but I know why it was…
It got recommended because UA-cam knew you’d like it
The fact that this game was inspired by Bushido Blade is a selling point for me. Considering i played that game and its sequel a lot back in the day gives me a clear understanding that one good hit is all it takes to end a fight. Almost as fatal, as making the wrong move at the wrong time leaving you open for an followup attack by an enemy.
I stayed for the *Fingersnaps*
I stayed for the musketeer chick losing an eye every time!
6:08 the best one, she briefly looks to the camera.
In Japanese swordsmanship, kendo, they have this concept called as direct line alignment, basically means the shortest and fastest to strike is a straight line (direct straight hit).
This character truly demonstrates the concept of direct line alignment and distance control, amazing.
Well, rapier styles in general tended to keep the weapon towards the enemy to make full use of its length and control the engagement distance. The particular variety she uses is the Spanish _La Verdadera Destreza,_ "the true skill/art" so named because its creator wanted to draw a distinction to what he called the "common" or "vulgar" styles being taught at the time, which REALLY leaned hard into that aspect. Also had the interesting quirk that its creator drew heavily on Classical geometry and Humanist learning for philosophy and inspiration and tried to apply a fair bit of mathematics to optimise the stances and movements.
Which was bluntly put a bit of a pretentious affectation only too typical of the era with its raging hard-in for Antiquity but eh, it worked well enough. 🤷
Rapier fencing is alllllll about controlling that direct line
you would know about pretentious
@@kidkique Oh look, a rando 13 yo. drive-by troll with absolutely nothing meaningful to say
@kidkique Thought you did something, huh lil boy?
Brodie didn't say the word pretentious and you used that weak roast set-up 😂😂
8:00 That sequence was beautiful
he took multiple stabs that fight

Gotta love the snap. Started playing this game a couple of days ago and she's my favorite character because of that sass.
5:32 She legit killed her opponent as well as took her sword as a trophy. Lmao
I was thinking the same thing, flicked that sword into orbit. XD
Love that stiff-arm guard. Intimidating.
Fitting, or poetic, that you lost against your doppelganger. Not in a negative way, of course. Awesome run you had.
Just discovered this game. Super fun to watch.
is an Spanish guard, also called as "La verdadera destreza"

2:35 My girl gets her blade past his guard and is a centimeter from his chest, but backs off and goes for a hand strike win. Marta! Stop being such a show off!
**Snaps**
The algorithm knew I like Bushido Blade, and this just so happens to turn up in my feed.
I am wanting to know more about this game.
I know enough.
Bushido blade was an amazing game!
Bushido blade 1&2
This game is very similar to Bushido Blade, relying on the physics of the player model and the blade. Basically a spiritual successor of Bushido Blade with a European setting.
I found a Rock Paper Shotgun article of this game where they say the developer outright states they were inspired to make this game by Bushido Blade.
Fight 7 was amazing! Up until then marta had coasted on the reach advantage, but that dude did well to get on the inside using his curved blade. Very close for sure
As a beginner fencer, the footwork animations are incredibly accurate!
This game is incredibly stylish and atmospheric
Thank you Magical Chemistry for your comment!
By the way, this game is currently on sale and can be purchased at a discount♪

IN ORDER TO DEFEAT MARTA or ONE MUST BECOME MARTA LMFAOOOO
The streak never ended, Martha won in the end
The snaps are everything.
Nice run. Hopefully Kubold will add a couple more rapier style fencers to the game before he's done. Probably won't be with as much sass as Marta though. That finger-snap is on point.
Love the finger snap like , take this chump before he bleeds out on my carpet
She really said 🤌✨️🙋♀️🥰
That second kill with the thrust to the eye was brutal 😅
i like how you fight a drunken monk with a sword and birkenstocks and it's just a normal Wednesday
Friday nights in Krakow hood _circa_ 1640 be like:
It might be only me but I think that the weight of the swords is not playing a part here, like how easily she blocks and counters heavier swords 😂
I'll be positive and think that she has just enough strength to do so :3
yea pretty unrealistic in that regard
Finally someone noticed.
@@FullRevive7why cause she’s a woman? 🙄
Ever heard deflect or parry? Also you can't block like fighting the force, it's about to use opponent's force into your advantage. And you can't make contact with blade too.
I think had the PlayStation not had such limitations, this is what Bushido blade was trying to be. So awesome to see this.
Edit: medieval version of two snaps and a circle.
first I've heard of this game, but I'm getting some Bushido Blade vibes, and I'm all for it
Very impressive, I remember when I used to play For Honor I was playing brawls with my friend who was a master rank player like me. We went on a 36 game win streak and only stopped cuz my buddy had to get off. I’m still amazed by it. We went 15 games without even losing a round
Who else is waiting for the „noice“ after every snap?
I have no interest in playing this whatsoever and probably never will but it makes me happy that it exists
Feels like she's the only one whose stance is using the full length of the blade to lead. Every other one uses half-blade length at best. For the one-strike mortality, she has an obvious advantage.
I did't know this game. As a fan of spanish Destreza, I have to say thar this character Marta, is using it quite accurately. The developers must have been very well advised about it.
Fun fact: Spanish Destreza, or Verdadera Destreza, ruled Europe as sword figthing style by 200 years, from 1500 to 1700 aprox. It used a dagguer as well, called Vizcaina. The sword was called Ropera, knows as Rapier in France and UK
That's the advantage of the rapier man. Long and built for thrusting so if you can't smack it out the way before you make a move then your screwed. And even then it's built to feel weightless so the weirder can quickly return to guard even after you smack it away.
I feel like she has the reach advantage over a lot of her opponents and then the fact that she uses a thrusting sword means she doesn't need to slice to deliver a mortal wound, just a stab which is generally quicker and can take advantage of her weapon's full length.
Game is brutal, I mean, this is exactly what can happen in real life, one hit kill
Not really
@@JediMindG In single combat the distinction between "no longer able to fight" and "stone dead" was pretty much in the hands of the victor ya know.
No not really. A lot of those kill wouldn’t have killed and rapiers barely slice. They are long pokey and wouldn’t be able to do most of the blocks seen here
This gamr reminds me of "Bushido Blade". I've been waiting 25 years for them to recreate that.
That sassy as hell snap is everything.
the fingersnap after each kill is very much earned
Not sure why the algorithm brought me here but I am not disappointed at all.
Gunter X hunter, thanks for watching the video😄
If you ripped Marta's sleeve, that's actually her bicep & arms size.
I really want this game in VR. I know there's stuff like Blade and Sorcery, but the AI in those games is pretty terrible. I'd love to see something that uses realistic techniques and presents a real challenge.
Ouch! Her opponents really got the point.
The *proper* lightsaber technique
11:33 Also, sick dodge and counter.
Blew the guy’s hat clean off
As much as i love Destreza rapier in real life, i cannot make Marta works for me in game lol. Her thrust attacks compare to Marie is just...lacking alot of weight behind them
Jake The Asian Guy Thanks for watching the video😄
I can relate so much!
I tried Survival Mode with Malta this time and happened to win 38 straight games, but I still felt that Marie was easier to handle and fight the way I intended
I will have to try Survival Mode with all the swordsmen, but I think Marie will have the best results!
I suggest a more defense and counter attack oriented mentality when fighting with Marta. Really embody the idea of getting your opponent to walk themselves onto your blade.
You gotta move on diagonals and use sidestep attacks constantly. If they are too focused on defending from your attacks that’s when to use her slow cuts which in my opinion are meant to be cancelled and rolled into more side step attacks and combos. As if when you finally have someone afraid of her long reach diagonals she’s saying, “is the what you expecting? No? Perhaps this? No? Or maybe this?”
Move on diagonal
Sidestep attack
Cancel exaggerated cut attacks
Sidestep attack!
Use straight attack combos once you have them afraid to push buttons
La verdadera Destreza is just, make the opponent dance with his death, there is no much about trhust in the destreza, just atajos and counter attacks
marta always look like she gotta hurry home coz she has some baking to do for her kids.
Are the opponents all other players, or enemy AI? Ibe heard of this game but never seen it in action, wow what a thrill. So much personal mastery of real tecnique, no crazy powers or abilities, just real movements and strikes im the right spaces at the right moments. Incredible. I may have to try this game. Subbing as thanks! 200k views, you should have earned tens of thousands of subs. YT can be so frustrating lol. GG!
5:31 okay I like that part, while not intended, Marta looked like she flipped blade out of her opponent's hand just to flex. XD
La verdadera destreza
bro when I first played this I thought it was broken cause I went on a streak like this 30+ and then I lost on purpose and could barely get back to 10 lol. One of the best fighting games ever
Only a true master could lose to themselves ❤
this game it looks so cool give me hope for bushido blade remake or something! Go 1P go, i love the snaps and the dress style, the music seems very good and the sounds!! Animation looks great! If its not done please keep working on it and do your best! ❤😊 please dont forget to release it for consoles! ❤😊
"thats just like snap of fingers" - Thanos
I really like the games motion except for the rapier of her not being pushed around so easily. I think with the weight so front and her welding the sword only on one hand, when sword like saber or longsword throws jab, it should be pushing the rapier around a bit more which would make it more realistic.
Rlly cool to see, im definitely downloading this game now, i remember seeing footage for it a while back and was already very interested
13:21 was super intense.
Made the AI pic stand still as the safest option love it.
Красиво!
Всегда считал что рапира и кинжал в другой руке сильнее любого другого оружия. Быстро, легко смертельно.

Martha: "So, my final enemy is a puppet version of myself. ...Not bad."
If you recognize the quote, the treasure is yours.
That snap of the fingers is diabolical 😂
Rapier was a mence - long range, slim body to penetrate and light weight to increase agility and rapid attacks - that is as long as the opponent wasn't armored
They weren't particularly light tho. Which is one reason it was common to have something in the off-hand for defence.
This just goes to show how advantageous reach is.
The rapier (Ropera) is the weapon she is using, not to confuse with the stiletto, the ropera was invented and used in Spain during the golden age of Spanish Empire and duels for honor took place in the streets, all of them, to death.
Bushido Blade remembers
Its like modern day bushido blade. Nice
I don't know how I ended up here, but when the kid took the scar maker to the face I couldn't leave after that😮
This game reminds me of the Deadliest Warrior games
this game remember me "bushido Blade" from PSX. Its good game.

That sword style is very powerfull, u know what u doing player.
I think I'm in love.
Her twirling of the rapier is really cool

i dont wanna talk up marta too much bc i dont want other players to main her. however, she is maybe best counter striker in game. she is super defensive and distancey. geometric. v contained movement.

Thanks Jake The Asian Guy!
@@DarNori_Gaming i appreciate the info!
turns out holding a long stick straight out is a great way to defeat a llllot of engagement methods! haha
By opponent #32, the AI has already adapted to your strategy against rapier. It pretty much executed your same style: pointing the rapier straight out front to maximize distance. From there, I had a feeling that the opponent that would end your win streak would be a rapier wielder, and my hunch was correct. I guess if you could improve on your timing of the quick thrust from a slightly relaxed front guard, you would first get a mutual strike on a rapier wielding opponent and then, as you improve, get a hit in first.
The AI for the saber guys was slowly catching up as well: it baited you in for a thrust and hoped for a reverse cut. The only problem with that strategy is that the reverse cut is a bit too slow in this game. In a real sword fight, the saber wielder would surely have some sort of move with his off hand to grab or deflect your blade and finish you off with his cut.
5:30 I almost expected her to catch the sword!
XD
Is never wise to catch the balde of a sword cuz if the guy you fighting pulls it from yo hand it would cut your hand and fingers rendering your arm completely useless
I want to play this. This looks amazing.
Completely forgot about this game. That's snap tho😂
This realistic until u realize stronger ppl can wear armor and outright ignore 90% of the game ending hits in this game.
The finger snap 🤏
SNAP!
I love/hate the poshness of the rapier swordplay. Her poise is pointier than her blade.
Her having a skirt that long is busted you cant see her footwork
Opponent: fancy swings
Chick in the dress: k. *stab
I'll play this game when Julie d'Aubigny is available.
She lived in the last quarter of the century while this is explicitly in the early part, tho. I'd imagine Marie is loosely based on her anyway.
omg a game where sword fights actually look like sword fights
