I love that Sevika starts off annoyed but then starts to really get that gambler's high. People are saying it's Jinx being Jinx, but keep in mind both times Vi clashes with Sevika she finds her gambling. This isn't just Jinx being Jinx. This is Jinx *creating a weapon that perfectly matches Sevika's personality.* Her regular arm is her serious side and the mechanical arm is her reckless gambler.
Love that you can tell how Sevika is both amazed and annoyed by her new arm. Like "Holy shit, this thing is powerful" and "Really? Did you need to make it this flashy and noisy?"

Well she does use her fist, but that's extremely dangerous to do against someone with bladed body modifications like Smeech. One wrong and he could mince her into her paste, or skewer her with his drills. She's better off using mid to long rang attacks in this case, just on strategy alone.

Smeech was an AMAZING character for the one episode he got to shine. I really wish we could see more of him, but if he had to go out I think this was a fairly dignified (badass) way for such an amazing character design and personality. The casting choice for his voice actor also really did wonders, love the voice they gave him!!
I think he is the first truly bad Yordle we have seen. He augmented everything but his head and is a drugged up, violent menace. His design is great, making himself taller with augments and his hat, and loves to loom over people to menace them.
That new arm Jinx made really shows how well the two work together, Jinx is creative and unpredictable, whereas Sevika is highly adaptable and skilled and is able to roll with the random abilities and integrate them really well in her fighting style. Amazing job Fortiche and team!
I was so scared for this season since, with how amazing (dare I say perfect) the first season was it would be easy to mess up the writing or visuals…But nah, seeing these 3 episodes confirmed to me that this season will also be peak 🎉.

Not only that. There's that 02:49 moment. She clearly enjoys violence = her eyes get violet, but when she remembers Isha is here, she calms down, and they turn back. They put so, so much effort into the smallest details that aren't even noticed, it's admirable.
One thing I seriously love about Arcane is how they really paid justice to Jinx's genius intellect. I mean It was such a great and creative fight! Fortiche didn't have to do that hard with that animation but I'm so glad they did!

Sevika is essentially a parallel for Vi. Taking apart the machine used by the sister jinx used to admire and turning it into a weapon for her mirror enemy is really poetic in a tragic way.
These two... I never knew i would love the dynamic between them so much😂 it was wholesome how Jinx actually gave her an arm and Sevika actually takes it. Sevikaaa you really have been underappreciated for so long.

Jinx says it aloud right before this fight, she knew Sevika was there and Sevika probably saw the body which would've had a very distinct pattern that Sevika knows very well as the work of "Pow-Pow" (the machine gun) and probably realized it was during an episode since Jinx fires differently when she's knowingly doing something or when she's having a moment.
Please note that this new arm is a perfect amalgamation of Sevika and Jinx. Sevika is known as a strong arm enforcer who likes gambling (see her first fight with Vi in season 1). Then you add the childlike yet psychotic and unpredictable character that is Jinx with all the colors sounds and random events. This is the tying together of both their characters around 1 invention and its brilliantly done. Simple yet with loads of depth.
2:48 Their reactions to Smeech getting absolutely CHOMPED are hilarious. Jinx is like "Ouch, damn! I designed that well!" While Isha doesn't know whether she should be enjoying this or not and just keeps looking back at Jinx and the scene lmao
Yes! That was probably my favorite part. Sevika isn't a terrible shot (she nearly got all three of Smeech's goons), but her strong suit is definitely hand to hand. Meanwhile, Jinx was being pinned to the wall because she's not physically strong enough to compete with chemtech enhanced guys like that (at least, when's she's not pumped up with shimmer in the moment). So Jinx and Sevika simultaneously tossing eachother their weapons is such a cool way of building their comradery, and showing how well they compliment eachother as a team.
I love how Sevika is probably pissed at her new arm being based on luck, but she's just so damn good that she rolls with it and manages to kick ass regardless.
Like someone else mentioned in these comments, Sevika is an avid gambler. We see her playing cards several times. I think she’s more annoyed with the flash and the noise, but the gambling aspect is kind of perfect for her…
i agree with the subcomment above mine, i wanna add that right before the Vi vs Sevika fight in s1 she was playing a gambling game before Vi troubles her.
it's also a failed gadget bomb but also did something different in season 1 a good distraction. so Jinx focused more into the idea of whiskers as a distraction gadget now.
I love the subtle detail at 1:35 which showed navori flickerblade and ionian boots of lucidity which are both CDR items in League, hence why the arm didn't work because it was on "cooldown"

Just kidn of like in the Vi vs Jinx fight when Jinx has no more weapons she literally leaps on Vi and starts punching clawing at her fast as she can It's a blink and you miss it but it's amazing how despite Vi having these weapons designed to mine the planet ans crush buildings, Jinx is not giving up and taking them head on but fighting as close as possible to try and stop Vi from being able to use them That's also very good writing

I also noticed it earlier in the episode I think, when jinx went “pow” or something like that pointing her gun at her head when she met the little girl. By accepting Jinx’s new arm, it’s as if Sevika is accepting her help and the role of becoming Jinx’s second-in-command. The former Sevika was cold and calculating, but the new one will be a bit more unpredictable, making her even more dangerous. You can also see that she learns from her encounters, as she wins her fight in the same way that Vi previously defeated her. The writing in this series is just incredible.
I thought Sevika in the first season was pretty cool. But OMG I love her so much now and how her relationship is evolving with Jinx now. It's like their a family now.
That, and Jinx wanted to see how her new arm would work in action. The end where Sevika got the jackpot is a sort of mirror to when Powder first tried to use Mouser in Act 1 last season (hence why mouser makes a brief return here).
With this being its second appearance in the series, Id like to point out that "Get Jinxed" is a song that exists and was more than likely Jinx begging Silco to help produce a single.
Gotta admit, that’s a big improvement from her other arm. Plus, some people in the comments pointed out that Jinx made it to compliment Sevika’s gambling personality and after looking back at the past season I totally see it. That arm is perfect for her
I love how Smeech’s death is so brutal, that a show that is not afraid of showing dark imagery chose not to show it, but instead show the outcome of his death ending with Sevika covered in blood, and Smeech’s prosthetics in pieces and everywhere
Sevika using the same move Vi used to disarm her is one of my favorite parts of this fight. Really cool way to show her growth mentally as well as physically.
This may be my most favourite fight scene of the whole show so far together with the Vi and Jayce scene from Season 1. It's just so unserious yet absolutely epic at the same time, love it.

The arm is so Jinx! erratic, loud and all fireworks while efficient in its ways. It's especially fun seeing it paired with Sevika's no nonsense demeanour. I can't wait to see more of her and Jinx's dynamic this season!
I know this is Sevika’s fight but man I love how they did Jinx. She flows seamlessly from ruthlessly cold and flowing to enjoying the randomness she causes. There’s that short part where Jinx is fighting that goon and I love the choreography there. She’s awkward and stumbling, trying to regain her balance up until her little spotter friend lets Mouser rip. Then it’s just a slow and methodical reload as she coldly blows his head off. Man I love this character.
Jinx doesn't like Sevika still, and gave her the most irritating weapon thinkable, that's so flipping funny!!! Edit:I just personally like the idea that jinx is merely making peace with Sevika, it shows how lonely she is. That's what lonely people do, they socialize with anyone available, even if they don't really like them. It doesn't mean she's forgotten her grudges against her. Putting that radio right by her head out of a bit of petty revenge sounds about right for Jinx. Why do y'all insist that these two are nothing but besties? Sevika literally grabbed a wine bottle in self defense when she saw Jinx, and Jinx was calling Sevika an ogre, threatening to cut her other arm off, and hanging her from the ceiling only a few days ago in S1!!! They're coworkers who just have nothing but each other now, they're probably gonna be friends in the future, just not immediately after they did nothing but fight for years!
She risked her life to deliver that arm. You're reading Jinx all wrong. Jinx can be expressive when she shouldn't but she doesn't cut corners when making weapons. Jinx probably still thinks Sevika should loosen up.

Watched multiple times to try and figure out how the arm works 😂 i think I got it that the icon that appears in the middle of the slot machine is the effect that will happen but if you get all three you get an enhanced "jackpot" version of the effect. The more the counter goes up each time you use an effect, it increases your chances of getting a jackpot like in how some progressive slots the more money you put in the more slot rows you get access to for big bonuses.
I fucking love this shit. It’s liked “yeah, of COURSE Jinx isn’t just gonna make an arm to help someone. She’s gonna do it her way.” And of COURSE she repurposed a machine built for skill, and associated with her sister, into something built for chance, so that it replaces that memory of her. And it just so happens she gives it to the person closest to a lifeline for her. Kinda like what Vi was, hmmmm…

Jinx says it aloud right before this fight, she knew Sevika was there and Sevika probably saw the body which would've had a very distinct pattern that Sevika knows very well as the work of "Pow-Pow" (the machine gun) and probably realized it was during an episode since Jinx fires differently when she's knowingly doing something or when she's having a moment.

Please note that this new arm is a perfect amalgamation of Sevika and Jinx. Sevika is known as a strong arm enforcer who likes gambling (see her first fight with Vi in season 1). Then you add the childlike yet psychotic and unpredictable character that is Jinx with all the colors sounds and random events. This is the tying together of both their characters around 1 invention and its brilliantly done. Simple yet with loads of depth.
This part was so satisfying to watch. 00:28 Got me chills.

Yes! That was probably my favorite part. Sevika isn't a terrible shot (she nearly got all three of Smeech's goons), but her strong suit is definitely hand to hand. Meanwhile, Jinx was being pinned to the wall because she's not physically strong enough to compete with chemtech enhanced guys like that (at least, when's she's not pumped up with shimmer in the moment).
So Jinx and Sevika simultaneously tossing eachother their weapons is such a cool way of building their comradery, and showing how well they compliment eachother as a team.

I love how Sevika is probably pissed at her new arm being based on luck, but she's just so damn good that she rolls with it and manages to kick ass regardless.
Like someone else mentioned in these comments, Sevika is an avid gambler. We see her playing cards several times.
I think she’s more annoyed with the flash and the noise, but the gambling aspect is kind of perfect for her…

I love that the paint bomb Isha throws at 0:46 is the bomb powder was making and called whiskers in season 1
it's also a failed gadget bomb but also did something different in season 1 a good distraction. so Jinx focused more into the idea of whiskers as a distraction gadget now.

I saw that they were doing it and they ended up canceling Sevika because it refers to gambling.
I love the subtle detail at 1:35 which showed navori flickerblade and ionian boots of lucidity which are both CDR items in League, hence why the arm didn't work because it was on "cooldown"

Just kidn of like in the Vi vs Jinx fight when Jinx has no more weapons she literally leaps on Vi and starts punching clawing at her fast as she can
It's a blink and you miss it but it's amazing how despite Vi having these weapons designed to mine the planet ans crush buildings, Jinx is not giving up and taking them head on but fighting as close as possible to try and stop Vi from being able to use them

By accepting Jinx’s new arm, it’s as if Sevika is accepting her help and the role of becoming Jinx’s second-in-command. The former Sevika was cold and calculating, but the new one will be a bit more unpredictable, making her even more dangerous.
You can also see that she learns from her encounters, as she wins her fight in the same way that Vi previously defeated her.
The writing in this series is just incredible.
You don’t know what her new arm can do, neither dose she but by the time you know she’s already adapted and striking
I thought Sevika in the first season was pretty cool. But OMG I love her so much now and how her relationship is evolving with Jinx now. It's like their a family now.
Love how both Jinx and Isha don't step in for the fight. They know Sevika is going to absolutely solo him.
That, and Jinx wanted to see how her new arm would work in action. The end where Sevika got the jackpot is a sort of mirror to when Powder first tried to use Mouser in Act 1 last season (hence why mouser makes a brief return here).

I love how Smeech’s death is so brutal, that a show that is not afraid of showing dark imagery chose not to show it, but instead show the outcome of his death ending with Sevika covered in blood, and Smeech’s prosthetics in pieces and everywhere

Sevika using the same move Vi used to disarm her is one of my favorite parts of this fight. Really cool way to show her growth mentally as well as physically.
This may be my most favourite fight scene of the whole show so far together with the Vi and Jayce scene from Season 1. It's just so unserious yet absolutely epic at the same time, love it.
Sevika is really underrated character from season 1. Props for writer and animator for giving her a moment to shine in this episode.

Arcane is so real with its expressions portrayal.
The arm is so Jinx! erratic, loud and all fireworks while efficient in its ways. It's especially fun seeing it paired with Sevika's no nonsense demeanour. I can't wait to see more of her and Jinx's dynamic this season!

I know this is Sevika’s fight but man I love how they did Jinx. She flows seamlessly from ruthlessly cold and flowing to enjoying the randomness she causes.
There’s that short part where Jinx is fighting that goon and I love the choreography there. She’s awkward and stumbling, trying to regain her balance up until her little spotter friend lets Mouser rip.
Then it’s just a slow and methodical reload as she coldly blows his head off.
Man I love this character.
Jinx doesn't like Sevika still, and gave her the most irritating weapon thinkable, that's so flipping funny!!!
Edit:I just personally like the idea that jinx is merely making peace with Sevika, it shows how lonely she is. That's what lonely people do, they socialize with anyone available, even if they don't really like them. It doesn't mean she's forgotten her grudges against her. Putting that radio right by her head out of a bit of petty revenge sounds about right for Jinx. Why do y'all insist that these two are nothing but besties? Sevika literally grabbed a wine bottle in self defense when she saw Jinx, and Jinx was calling Sevika an ogre, threatening to cut her other arm off, and hanging her from the ceiling only a few days ago in S1!!! They're coworkers who just have nothing but each other now, they're probably gonna be friends in the future, just not immediately after they did nothing but fight for years!

Watched multiple times to try and figure out how the arm works 😂 i think I got it that the icon that appears in the middle of the slot machine is the effect that will happen but if you get all three you get an enhanced "jackpot" version of the effect. The more the counter goes up each time you use an effect, it increases your chances of getting a jackpot like in how some progressive slots the more money you put in the more slot rows you get access to for big bonuses.

She’s gonna do it her way.” And of COURSE she repurposed a machine built for skill, and associated with her sister, into something built for chance, so that it replaces that memory of her. And it just so happens she gives it to the person closest to a lifeline for her. Kinda like what Vi was, hmmmm…
