Great post! I’ve had mine for a couple weeks now, added on to my Mini 4 Pro. Had planned to learn FOV type flying with my Mini 4 first, but went straight out and used Avata 2 indoors first to break my apprehensions. Turns out no biggie, and have been loving the goggles-motion flying. As a 68 year old getting into something new, I’m awestruck at the fun I’m having, something younger guys can’t touch me on. It’s the fun of flight. A retired C-5 Flight Engineer, it’s a different aviation, but it FLIES! Blessing Lil Bro on the reviews, keep on teachin and learnin! The Best!🇺🇸
Awesome!
RC 2 is the remote controller for camera drones for aerial photography, while Avata is FPV. I guess that's why RC2 and G3 don't work together.
I crashed my avata 2 yesterday, 34 mph and caught a branch it then slammed into the dirt from about 15 ft up after traveling quite a distance. The gimbal holders were stretched and I initially thought it was toast because it looked like the gimbal was broken. However, once I realized the rubber holders were stretched and it was bound in the frame it just snapped back with a little push and it is fine! I’m impressed!
Great video 📹
I bought into DJI OcuSync 4.0 Ecosystem
Bought my first FPV DJI Avata 2 Fly More Combo pack and worth every dollar 💵
Compatible with my DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone.
Glad I started with DJI O4 Transmitter right off the get go avoid compatibility issues....
I'm more worried about DJI getting banned... ☹️
Keep up the Avata 2 videos Cheers 🥂 🍻
The ban is only in America I think, but I could be wrong. I live in New Zealand and our Govt gets everything from China. Chinese shit is great stuff and it works well normally and it's cheap
I believe the firmware notes specify that the controller 2 support only works in combination with the goggles 2 or integra only. Thank you for a preference video! Great stuff as always
I talked to Dji and they still don’t have the software finished that will bind the number two transmitter to the Avada two
Excellent video! I think this video sealed the deal. I'm getting one as soon as i can get the combo with the three batteries
I had mine for over a month now fly it almost every day! I got a bunch of videos on my channel, take a look see what you getting into with just a little bit of practice.
Cool, thanks for sharing.
Know what be REALLY good? I bought the RC3 because I only want sticks too. Extra £200! What would be REALLY good, is if I could get reimbursed for the price of the motion controller 3. Hardly used it, gathering dust...that would be fair!!
I agree
Sell it. Ebay works
Nice flight Justin
Bro, if you could do a wind test in the next couple days that would be awesome 😂. I only have a few more days to return my Avata 2. I live on the coast so if it can't handle wind I'm going to return it.
Wow didn’t realize that the avata 2 was capable of flying like that with the RC two controller. I recently purchased my avata 2 with the fly more kit with just the motion controller. This is my first FPV drone upgraded from the DJI mini three. So I am just getting used to flying around with the motion controller and I am actually getting pretty good with it. I would love to learn how to use it with the real controller. But I don’t know if I have the skills lol to actually fly like you guys. But I should take the time and learn because it would open up so much more potential of the drone than just using the motion controller. Thanks for sharing. I didn’t know they had a new update for it.
Practice on simulator first.
@@LingLing-ou6nt Thanks Jaon,great information.Thas was a great flight.
Great video . I bought rc2 hoping it would work with googles 3 but NO. I had many drones from DJI and always value their solid performance but I’m disappointed with Dji that they wont make goggles 3 compatible with O3 or controller 2 . I believe it’s all about money . They want us to buy controller 3 if you want to use goggles 3 , simple. I don’t believe it’s hardware limitations but I might be wrong. Thanks and best wishes from UK.
Yeah, right. Unfortunately, we probably won't see the 03 air unit compatibility with goggles 3, in time for DJI getting banned in the UK. Sad times, mate!
I agree with your premise but there is actually a hardware limitation in this case. The Goggles 3 handle both the video signal and the control link, which is highly unusual for FPV. As a result, the Motion 3 and Controller 3 do away with the long-range transmission equipment entirely and just link to the Goggles 3 which then pass the signal on to the quad. This is why the Motion 3 is so much smaller and lighter than the 2, and why the Controller 3 lacks the external antenna and is quite a bit lighter than its predecessor as well.
I think what's happening and why you can't do Goggles 3 and Controller 2 at the same time is that the 2.4ghz control link from the Controller 2/Motion 2 to the drone is stepping on/getting stepped on by the 2.4ghz link from the goggles to the drone because they likely use the same frequency. This is a safety concern and likely why DJI doesn't allow it, similar to how you can't link the Goggles 2/Integra and the RC2/RC-N2 to a Mini 4 Pro or Air 3 at the same time (well you can but it's a glitch).
Good video man! So is the tumble because of the esc at this point or was it a manual mode error where the quad isnt tuned properly? also i have a spare frame for the avata if your original doesnt fly well i can make a quick video on how to fix it or ill buy it from you because i burnt up my first avata to where it wont take off (power level error in goggles) and could use the guts of it for that one
Tumble is from multiple factors. Wind, 3G, power system, props, motor placement, and aircraft flight controller.
Id be worried about breaking the frame, should make the frame replaceable
The rc3 connects to the goggles3 and controls the avata2 from the goggles3. It doesn't connect to the quad directly. Turn off the goggles3 and you failsafe. The rc2 and goggles 2 works more like traditional system. So the rc2 and Rc3 systems are not cross compatible.
Curious why you don't like the RC3? Isn't the same as the RC2 just without the physical antenna?
Many times I think people don’t pay attention to what’s said in a video on UA-cam.
I never said I didn’t like the RC3.
Only that I didn’t want to spend another $199 to have 3 controllers laying around. I want 1 controller.
moi j'ai un drone je l'ai payé 40 euros franchement sa me fait oublier mon smartphone la journée est ses bien ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️👍👍👍👍👍👍☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
I think your review is fair regarding the Avata 2. If we wanted the Avata 2 to fly more like the Acro FPV you do, than wouldn't it seem reasonable that they'd be forced to drop a good chunk of flight time and some functionality as well. Making the battery lighter by taking hits on flight time. I sure would love to see DJI break down just a little bit and use some freaking carbon fiber! Imagine that as prop guards!
On the OG Avata I really like the ability to buy some common parts and be able to replacement ourselves. I don't know why they took that away from the Avata 2? Ever since DJI made us hook up our phones to get the OG Avata in the air that really made it a 2nd class drone! I didn't like the way it flew and boy like others I crashed it a ton.
Sorry for the long comment! I enjoyed your video. I do hope at some point I will really take the move into a true Acro drone.
