- Indian Village, a neighborhood on Detroit’s east side bordered to the south by the Detroit River, has a storied past.
Families including the Fords of Ford Motor Company and Scripps of the Detroit News owned homes in the historic neighborhood. Visitors to the neighborhood will likely find a lot of maintenance and repair work underway for the uniquely designed houses. In recent years, property values have surged.
One Detroit’s Bill Kubota toured the neighborhood and discussed the history of the national historic district with residents.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC Thanks for sharing!
I love Indian Village, been driving through it for years. I live not too far from it in another great area … Lafayette Park. Just love this area of Detroit.
It is indeed beautiful
