I think we sometimes forget that our parents, grandparents, great grandparents, and so on were young once. They have their stories and passions, even secrets, of their own.
There’s a fair distance between Sandringham and Windsor where they each lived, respectively, and the Countess of Mountbatten (Penny Knatchbull) lived at Sandringham too, and attended his funeral, even tho’ it was in lockdown and only the closest were allowed. That was at his request of course. So I think separation came a bit earlier than death. The Windsors are very good at this illusion. People believe it.
I have always believed that Prince Philip and the queen had a loving and fun relationship and that it only grew as they got older. They were madly in love from day one they were madly in love up until his end. And the Queen will on love him.
@@noone-bp1eu That’s how the English aristocracy do it. They have affairs but keep the marriage story going. Philip was unfaithful in the first decade or so with lots of women, but in the last few decades he had one woman who drove carriages with him and lived at Sandringham, whereas HM the Queen is always at Windsor. His mistress was at his funeral when very few people could be because of COVID. She is Penelope Knatchbull Countess of Mountbatten. Couples that are close and loving don’t live apart.
Their story is remarkable. The first season was so sumptuous and beautiful, like mini portraits, so classy, one of its kind at the time, Tommy Lascelles, Edward, deliciously Machiavellian !
The scene at 5.07 captures their relationship perfectly. The Queen was a naturally shy person who would have found all of the attention difficult to cope with if it hadn’t been for Philip’s calm strength and support.
Royal couples in history have always fascinated me. They’re seen as fairytale. They have this ‘properness’ about them, yet obvious love and have normalcy that any relationship goes through, yet is often hidden coz monarchy are to be mysterious and above the messiness of healthy or toxic human interaction. Of course behind closed doors as normal, they row, they are passionate, they are ugly and beautiful, have humour, have children not just for heirs, go through rough patches, and especially in situations where the woman is higher in power, compromise and acceptance/rebellion of one’s place. God rest Prince Philip.
Hm, not really. They keep the “beautiful fairy tale love story” to the public, but privately they’re mostly unfaithful. It was normal for the king to have multiple women and for the couple to live apart for years. The marriage is for show and to have children with a “bloodline blessed by god”, but other than that... nope it’s not a fairy tale.
He challenged her all the time, even before they got married, and that was one of the reasons she chose him even that Queen Mary, King George VI, and The Queen Mother did not like him and prefered a richier man for the future Queen. One of the ways he challenged her was everytime he kissed her around other people: even that there were only the employs around then she prefered that he kissed her when they were totally alone, but he kissed her when he wanted no matter how many people were around then. All the other rich men her family wanted for her would never kiss her around other people and for sure they made her feel bored and that is why she married him.
And now, as of today, they are finally reunited in heaven Bless you Queen Elizabeth, may you rest in peace And good luck to King Charles on a good and happy reign
Different circumstances. Elizabeth picked Philip herself, having known him since she was 13 and Philip was exposed to the royal life so he knew what to expect. There was also only a five year age gap. Diana was picked by advisors, was a totally different person to Charles, had a huge age gap, had no experience with the royal life and married after a quick courtship. William and Kate also knew each other for a very long time, allowing them to determine they are compatible and for Kate to understand what she was getting into. Plus they have common interests. Something like 1 in 3 marriages in the West ends in divorce so it would be really unusual if none of the royals got divorced.

lol she despised Diana and vice versa
They literally conducted Diana’s death, you’re a bit…delusional.
@@analynn8110 Know what I mean is she’s been on the throne for a very long time she serves as head of state she’s just a wonderful person keeping her word despite everything that people have said and everything has done you had to admit a woman like her becoming queen at the age of 25 having to do all of this rolls that nobody can ever do and she was still doing it up until her death so she did her part she did her role she did what she was supposed to do and the job is done I’m not trying to be delusional
@@alicezsa That's not true. Diana was close to her in-laws and they cared about her, but ultimately they didn't know how to help her with her depression except by letting her go.
@Bela D dont worry, i dont :-*
I’m going to be crying next time I re watch the crown.
6:02, i just know what Phillip (Matt Smith) meant when he touch the jacket off🤭🤫
what i feel is that something is crackling down, when we don't meet a perfect match, there exist right ones, nearby, always...
RIP. The world wont forget you.
Rest In Peace Your Majesty.
OMG I just realized he plays as Damon Targaryen
I just realized that she still had that camera and now her son will have to look at it for memories of charles’ mother and father
The first answer is what comes from the heart. " that's certainly what they think "
Watching this after their death, wondering life is just like a movie which ends always
When I first searched up to see young him... I fell!!! No shit but prince Philip was actually the most handsome royal I've seen . No wonder she fell for him. (Tho he's not royal blood still)
He was royalty. He was Prince Philip of Greece - only he didn’t have his dominion because they’ve been dismantled.
He was more royal than Queen.
This video is glitching a lot, unfortunately. 😣
Can't believe Daemon Targaryen marrying Queen Elizabeth 😂😂😂
Seems like this guy is always a Queen’s consort. 😂😂

This was adorable. 🥹
why is young elizabeth so much more loving than older elizabeth
because she was young, more free-spirited and a bit naive
Keep in mind that everybody thought that King George VI was expected to live a long life, which was supposed to give Elizabeth plenty of time to be just a Princess, Wife, and mother.
A lot of things changed when her father died.
She had 4 kids. She was tired!
@@RazzleDazzle405wouldn’t make her less loving though just veins tired!
There are the best couple like a fairytale they proves till death do us part😭
She did everything possible and appropriate for the crown to accommodate the love of her life. We don’t k ow what really went on between Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip but we must admit, they were worth watching, god bless the queen and her prince.
Wow, they couldn't have made the marriage ceremony more terrifying. The arts are truly lost.
Even though this is fictional based on historical facts, you could always tell how much they truly each other.
Who’s here from the tragic news of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd who has died today
RIP QUEEN Elizabeth II 😔💔👑
4:17 I REMEMBER SEEING THIS ONE MORE TIME LAST TIME AGAIN , 😭✋✋✋ .. -
