Never felt like 3 different actors have played the role of queen. The transition was very smooth. I’ve always felt like the natural progression of Queen Elizabeth while watching the actors. The casting team of this show is amazing.
The actresses picked for the queens role were phenomenal. Could not have picked better. Even the littlest queen Viola Prettejohn looks remarkably like Claire Foy. Even the brief eye colour change didn’t bother me. Olivia Coleman nailed it despite that.

I love seeing Imelda Staunton and imagining her as one of the best villains in movie history -- Delores Umbridge. There are so many amazing old school English actors.
She is amazing...and honestly, she was truly unsettling as Umbridge. However, it made me aware of her as an actress and discovering the rest of her work was a delight. Love that she's married to the actor who plays Carson.
She was great in the movie "Peter's Friends". A wonderful scene where she is singing "Just the Way You Look Tonight" before the others gradually join in. One of the best versions of that song I've heard.
I would love to see Olivia Colman as well as Claire Foy star together in a film in the foreseeable future, possibly directed by either Chris Nolan or Sam Mendes!

They started a series on Queen Victoria with Jenna Coleman and then it was abandoned. I was enjoying it. I wondered if it lost momentum over COVID, but they never returned to it.
I wonder whether it was the instructions that they gave to Coleman that she wasn't to show any emotion. It made her portrayal of the Queen somewhat dry.
Norton is such a crawler round his guests , never was like this on 4, but BBC requirements and the lure of the dollar, sell your instincts and abilities for woke enforced acceptance of everything is wonderful, and the first 2 queens were watchable, the last 1 struggled
I have never watched the entire crown show, but seen clips on UA-cam. The lady who played the queen in the end also played in Harry potter. In Harry potter i despised her character. Then after watching UA-cam clips i have become convinced she was the finest actor/actress of the HP series and the finest in a generation. She evoked emotions most actors only dream of.
