Jamie, we want more of this guy! He's really chilled & skilled compared to most of the new ones we saw on the channel recently. I prefer similar videos to this one rather than Food Busker yelling 24/7 in my ears
Amazing veggie burrito. I have a 19-year-old daughter that has recently become veggie. She will love this recipe and we will have a try. Congrats and thanks for sharing a delicious and superb meal!
+Hari Roshan i just made it with one chilli, I thought I could have kept some of the seeds in but the combination of the smokey pepper and sweet tomatoes works so nicely together. If you can, add the pomegranate seeds, it adds an extra fresh kick and crunch
I made this tonight minus the pomegranate and Chilis (neither were available in 2 of my local markets) but it was so delicious and filling! I had 2 and my hubby had 3. Yummmm!
Loved this video - the way you explained what to look for in the lesser used (by me) ingredients is really helpful. Never really been sure how to use plantain - see them in the supermarket and walk past them - same with pomegranates - will definitely try this.
He's amazing! More! Please! Love his presentation. He explains a lot and I love it when the shopping bit is included. Especially with exotic ingredients.
This is amazing!! Jamie, what a great find! You have wonderful people on your FoodTube channel. I love the title of his cook book. What a way to go, death by Burrito.
I made a plantain burrito for brunch a few weeks back and it tasted amazing! Will try this recipe out as the pomegranates and ancho chillis seem like such a good addition! Thanks for sharing xoxo
First off, I LIKE this guy! Beyond that, it's exciting to see someone using Caribbean ingredients in Mexican dishes. Here in Brooklyn, where we've had a variety of Caribbean populations (Nuyoricans, Yardies, Dominicans, Haitians, etc.) for generations, and have recently seen a huge growth in the Mexican population, we rarely see that kind of fusion. I'm not saying that we should water down any individual cuisine, but if maduros taste great in a burrito, why not go for it? Nobody here minds Korean tacos, why not make Jamaican burritos?! I'm looking forward to seeing more from this fellow.
Shay you are a legend for this great burrito. This combines so many of my favorite ingredients and flavors into one quick and easy tasty Mexican, Caribbean meal. I am surprised that I have not thought of this myself lol. Nice one brother.
Great recipe, more of Shay please. Really liked when he explained how to shop or ingredients and what to look out for in ripeness and how to prepare the chillies.
What a wonderful show! I'm digging how humble his kitchen is. I'm not a very good/creative cook (yet) and sometimes I'll watch tv cooking and wonder how to replicate a technique without a fancy gadget. The shopping segement was a great help. And not only is the food is beautiful, but the chef isn't bad on the eye, either. Keep up the good work, Brother!
loved this! He sounds so interesting and I like his relaxing voice more than the squeaky yelling guests who often appear. Recipe also seems very enjoyable :) greetings from Croatia!
I know sometimes when people cook Mexican food they don't mean it to be really Mexican but their own version. I was expecting that from this, but I was truly surprised to see this is actual food we eat in Mexico regularly. I just never thought to put it all together like this. I gotta try it now.

+soldierofwar666 Oh man , that plaintain look really delicious feel like it have texture to it .
+Jamie Oliver you can't eat raw plantain? is it poisonous or something raw?
aj weiss Starchy, not sweet- like a potato.
You will be sick if you do some people can eat it and be ok..
This guy is great. More of him please!
"I wanted to make food that was so good, it would kill you. Or you'd die"
That's probably the best sentence I've heard all week
Right?!
HAHA I LOVE his straight faced humor.
+Toby K. my cooking is the best, I always for cyanide in it. It's so good it kills people. sometime i mix it up and put in e.coli
Haha his restaurant is called Death by Burrito so I'm guessing he was going for that vibe in his lingo.
This guy looks cool,I hope we will see him a lot on food tube
+Littlemanz Jordan Couldn't agree more - cool dude, nice presentation and it made me hungry even though I've just had lunch :)
Going to have to try making this, even though I am not Vegan. The fusion of sweet and hot always tastes great.
You dont have to be vegan to eat vegan stuff ;-)
Dacr0n
Absolutely.
+Dacr0n No shit
+Dacr0n Hey Sherlock!
RyuFan1999 Its just like many people act like vegan stuff is toxic for non vegans.
This looks AMAZING. Shay needs his own channel. Top man!
OMG this guy is calm and relaxed and his voice is so relaxing.
Amazing veggie burrito. I have a 19-year-old daughter that has recently become veggie. She will love this recipe and we will have a try. Congrats and thanks for sharing a delicious and superb meal!
Have you tried it? What's the outcome
+Hari Roshan i just made it with one chilli, I thought I could have kept some of the seeds in but the combination of the smokey pepper and sweet tomatoes works so nicely together. If you can, add the pomegranate seeds, it adds an extra fresh kick and crunch
+Mary-Jo Zilveti is she in a coma? (please get the joke)
i got the joke
I made this tonight minus the pomegranate and Chilis (neither were available in 2 of my local markets) but it was so delicious and filling! I had 2 and my hubby had 3. Yummmm!

I didn't even know you could eat pomegranate seeds so this video is pretty awesome
You mean you'd just eat the small amount of fruit on the outside of the seeds? Sounds extremely time consuming
I like this guy, hope to see more of him
