I try to source @ the salvation army & gw, but also go to the St Vincent DePaul. Just 30 miles down the road in Central City (our claim to fame are the Everly Bros) are a few good places, such as Attic Heirlooms, a huge vendor's mall, Coal Co Vendor's mall, Picker's Vendor's mall & even a pretty good GW! Bonus...flea mkt on every Tuesday!
I love the Greenville flea market! I've done a couple of Greenville videos. I am sorry I missed your booth, I don't know how that happened, which one is yours? I have gone to St Vincent's three times and they were closed each one (even during their posted hours), so I couldn't include them. The Central City vendor's mall is good too! I hope I get to meet you some time, please come to my Estate Sale in Earlington during the Hwy. 41 Yard Sale June 25-26 if you're able, there'll be lots of deals

Geez!, you'd need an archeological team to find anything in that indoor flea market! My favourite thing you got is the deck chair. I really like that! Thanks for the take-along!!!
I'd rather enjoy that teapot as a whole set too! The figural lamps are a personal favorite as well. So happy about the deck chair. I do like a few Jim Beam bottles myself...the birds, the cars and the World's Fair varieties do have an aftermarket. I'm just glad that there wasn't a cascading collapse at the indoor flea market, I'd never be seen again!
@@TheAntiqueNomad That would, indeed, make a really nice set, if the other pieces were with the tea pot. As you know, I like the beverage pieces in sets. I don't know if I'd be able to part with that deck chair. I don't know what it is about that, but I really like it. The Jim Beam birds have always been my favourites, of the bottles/decanters they made. I used to have the five, but sold them when I moved here with Mother. There is one made by Ski Country that I like, too. It's the Ivory-billed woodpecker. I've never owned it, though. LOL!!! That indoor flea market definitely has the potential to become a vintage-encrusted tomb!!! 😮😂😂
Thanks for taking me along in your travels from shop to shop. I love the digging part lol. I'd have been there for hours just doing it to it. Having fun finding good stuff. Have a wonderful day

What are those white flowered trees @ the court house? Nice little store, cool metal teapot, interesting items worth looking thru. Love the English cabinet w/marble top. Thank you George for another nice video💠
Schaefer Beer is the one beer to have when you are having more than one First produced in NYC in 1842. It is now produced by the FX Matt Brewing in Utica NY. FYI.
I paid about that price in the 1990's for a Jim Beam Manitowoc bottle at a garage sale and that was with haggling. I had wanted it because I was on vacation and that was the best souvenir that I found with Manitowoc on it at the time. No idea what ever happened to it....lost it in a move. :(
Agreed! I do actually own a Jim Beam bottle from the Seattle World's Fair because it fits my collection. I do like their cars and some of their birds as well. It's just that they made SOOOOO many of each that there's only a few worth money now, especially because they pretended they were worth a lot as collectibles when they were practically still new so that no one threw any away.
Some people live where thrift stores are more fruitful (e.g. where people move around a lot, like military towns). The ones here are nice but just don't get a lot
I think shopping is not work for most and I can't understand why some buy the stuff on the live sales. Just get off your butt it's more fun to go out and find something you like at a thrift store. I used to thrift a lot when I was in Washington state, it was better there honestly. Goodwill can be really good or really not, it all depends on the region

Is any Pfaltzgraff spectacular? I admit I just pass over them now because I’ve never found any worth flipping. Is there a pattern or piece I should be looking for? Love the videos! It amazes me how knowledgeable you are!
Oh, thank you! As for Pfaltzgraff, I think the ringed mixing bowls from the 1930s-40s are their most salable line, but I do sell serving pieces in Villager and Yorktowne if I keep the prices down. They made some nice things but very traditional and mid-market stuff usually, they were not ever into trendy.
@@TheAntiqueNomad thank you! I’ll research into all of that and try to get a feel for them. I agree, trendy is definitely not what I would call Pfaltzgraff! I consider everything they make very muted and soft (which is not my cup of tea!), though I do think their pure white line is lovely.
It just depends where I am! In Seattle and even rural Washington, thrifting can be good. In Kentucky, it's not. In urban Florida, some thrifts are good but Goodwill is essentially a dollar store with nothing old. It really varies, Goodwill is awesome in some places!
I’m sure you’ve been to the Greenville/ Central City area to pick? I haven’t seen a video yet but I’ll keep watching. Loved seeing what you found in Madisonville.
Hi there! If you look back there's a video I did about a year ago "Backroads" with a pink elephant in the thumbnail, it shows a lot of what's in Greenville. I also did a second Greenville video about the flea market. Love shopping there. BTW if you're around June 25-26, I'm having a vintage sale in Earlington as part of the Hwy. 41 150-mile yard sale
Hi there! Vaseline glass was the original name people gave it (due to the color) around the time Vaseline came out, circa 1900. Vaseline glass always has uranium in it, whereas custard glass and green depression glass may have a lot, a trace amount or none (and the amount it will glow under a black light varies accordingly). People online are fond of calling it "Uranium Glass" so that's become a shell category to encompass any that glows in black light
Hi George - I love touring the country with you and learning the history behind the items that you encounter. In this video at the 12:19/36:47 time stamp, you're showing the exact coffee grinder I have in my home. I love this piece and know nothing about it. The only piece that's missing is the screw top finial which I would love to search and find but have no idea how to do this. Any suggestions would be so appreciated.
There's nothing I hate more than walking into a Goodwill I've never been to before and finding it's one of those they have basically turned into a dollar store with mostly new items. I immediately lose all interest. Give me one that's messy with tons of items to dig through. If I wanted a superstore with new items all neatly arranged I could just go to the mall. With that being said, I haven't been to a mall in years.
Do you sell them? I'm new to your videos. I will buy any tapes...betamax, vhs, cassettes reel to reels 8 tracks... I like the thrill of seeing whats on them.. I find old radio broadcasts i just got a reel of 1971 california radio stations.. And 8 beta tapes of Mtv from the 80s.. But my finds are few and far between. My thriftstores quit selling used tapes people donate. They throw them away...pisses me off. I don't drive so i don't get to go junking anymore. I'll buy any used blank tapes if you find any for me.
Hi there! A lot did, there was a peak in pottery collecting around 1990 and then eBay came out...we all learned more about what was truly scarce (versus what we could see in our own little corner of the market). Now prices have hit bottom and are turning around, I'm selling more pottery now than I have in ages as long as I price for today
4 commercials in 17 minutes. So annoying!!!! People with 100k don’t even have that many. It’s my 2nd time complaining. I looked it up. You determine how many commercials you want. Can’t do ya anymore!
Kelli, I agree that the commercials are annoying; however, there are ways to watch UA-cam without them! One of them is UA-cam Premium. It confers other benefits besides simply not seeing ads, and creators still get a cut of the subscription you pay for it. Another is to watch the video premieres. There are no ads in those, and you get to chat live with George.
Well it's nice they think highly enough of the content to put them in, although I wish I had more control over it. I'm reluctant to remove any they add for fear that they'll stop promoting my videos
You earn every dollar you make George. My patience for digging gets shorter as I get older. Thanks for your great videos.
You and me both! I've become better at spotting the good stuff so now I want to be able to see it on the surface

My brother just moved to Kentucky.
It's different than people imagine
I want to be George.
It's fun a lot of the time! I'm glad you get to be with me at least. I bet you do fun things I'd like to do too
There's nothing I hate more than walking into a Goodwill I've never been to before and finding it's one of those they have basically turned into a dollar store with mostly new items. I immediately lose all interest. Give me one that's messy with tons of items to dig through. If I wanted a superstore with new items all neatly arranged I could just go to the mall. With that being said, I haven't been to a mall in years.
Me either! I go to thrifts and estate sales so I can avoid the mall. Fully agree with you
no more Elvis impersonations lol
That seemed to be the universal feeling lol
Did you not get the Grand Ole Opry dog?
I didn't, I have a similar one in stock already and that one had gone yellow from being left in a sunny window
@@TheAntiqueNomad Ah, okay 👌
I go after used blank tapes of any kind.. Video audio etc..any format..
easy to ship and usually super cheap
Do you sell them? I'm new to your videos. I will buy any tapes...betamax, vhs, cassettes reel to reels 8 tracks... I like the thrill of seeing whats on them.. I find old radio broadcasts i just got a reel of 1971 california radio stations.. And 8 beta tapes of Mtv from the 80s.. But my finds are few and far between. My thriftstores quit selling used tapes people donate. They throw them away...pisses me off. I don't drive so i don't get to go junking anymore. I'll buy any used blank tapes if you find any for me.
Didnt all these ceramic pieces cost more yrs ago. Cheap
Hi there! A lot did, there was a peak in pottery collecting around 1990 and then eBay came out...we all learned more about what was truly scarce (versus what we could see in our own little corner of the market). Now prices have hit bottom and are turning around, I'm selling more pottery now than I have in ages as long as I price for today
I always donate to the Salvation Army, they don't get as many donations as they should....
I agree, they rescued my sister when she hit bottom so I favor them greatly
The indoor flea market was disgusting!
It's hard to spend a lot of time there! Occasionally they get something worthwhile but it's a chore to find it
Where do you sleep? 🤨
I have shared housing in two of my main destinations and a condo in the third one
I'll give you forty for yellow swing glass?
If you like it, I'd get it for you and charge less than $40, but shipping to AZ would be costly
4 commercials in 17 minutes. So annoying!!!! People with 100k don’t even have that many. It’s my 2nd time complaining. I looked it up. You determine how many commercials you want. Can’t do ya anymore!
I had 0 commercials when I watched it maybe I have UA-cam prime or something
Kelli, I agree that the commercials are annoying; however, there are ways to watch UA-cam without them! One of them is UA-cam Premium. It confers other benefits besides simply not seeing ads, and creators still get a cut of the subscription you pay for it. Another is to watch the video premieres. There are no ads in those, and you get to chat live with George.
Sounds like a blessing for George! 😂
Well it's nice they think highly enough of the content to put them in, although I wish I had more control over it. I'm reluctant to remove any they add for fear that they'll stop promoting my videos
