  • ANTIQUE VINTAGE PILES | RESELLER SHOP ALONG | TWO DIFFERENT MARKETS
    WOW! is the only word to describe the stack of stuff at this roadside antique/vintage hoard, recommended to us by a viewer we met at a new Monday morning flea market. The flea market has some fun vintage buys at thrifted prices, but this last place takes the cake!
    We start out early at a swap meet we've never been to before, suggested by a dealer friend of ours who sells at my usual Tuesday flea market haunt. It's a real deal flea market, with vintage and antique items sprinkled throughout and a lot of thrift store prices! We come away with cute WWII era ink blotters, see a table of old-school toys and pull out a perfectly rusted iron pulley someone will love in their greenhouse or boho palace.
    A lovely viewer and her friend (who we've also never met) are selling here today, and its their suggestion that takes us down the road to a salvage-estate liquidation-antique-vintage markets so full, it spills outside into a massive hoard of wayward home goods and salvage items! It's called 'Anything Goes', an aptly named emporium of all things old.
    Past the piles of Avon bottles, old glassware, windows and farm junk, we see the crowded entrance to this crazy world of vintage chaos! In we go, where every square inch from floor to ceiling is piled (or hung) with old tack, cookie jars, tin toys, 1960s glassware...in front of the bins and bins of little ephemera, records and books, signs and photos...oh, and then there's the other half of the shop!
    This place is endless, and the target of the day are the little white tags that denote 1/2-off items. The prices fall as old estates are liquidated and new ones come in to this place, so we search for overlooked bargains--a Fenton custard "uranium" glass candy dish, a musical decanter from the Mad Men days, a cool 1940s store sign--and gawk at all the amazing other stuff, from giant cranberry glass lamps and an enamel barber pole to arcade games and an all-brass 1920s vending machine! But will we ever find our way out again?
    Here's some more of what we see on this spelunking adventure:
    Railroadiana, Girl Scout knife, costume jewelry, Tupperware, Pyrex sets, Chein Ferris wheel, Pluto rollover dog, family scale, time clock, enameled cast iron cookware, Ford Mustang pedal car, Oyster and Pearl bowl, Steinbach nutcracker, leather postcard, Tom Thumb typewriter, tractor plow hood, hotel ashtrays, pedal car tractor, Gunk barrel, enameled wood stove, saddle, wood spoked wheels, well dipper, milk bottles, Carmen Miranda wall pocket, mini perfume bottles, California chip and dip, Art Deco nude dancer, Fenton Peachblow, Persian Medallion compote, Franciscan Duet Rose, radios, metal wall phone, Fire-King Tulip grease jar, horse lamp, microphone, jadeite, Kreiss beatnik, Lefton Holly, Moroccan Amethyst, Land-of-Lakes tray, McCoy Onyx planter, bowling pin lamp, etc.

    Great vid! What a fun and massive amount of stuff. I only wish I could visit there sometime. It’s now April 2022, not sure if this comment will ever be seen, but I do watch many of the older videos that come on my feed too. Anyhow, for ceramic items that have very tiny chips, on the paint surface or on the body, I will sometimes do a bit of camouflage with paint. As an artist, I’m very good with getting pretty precise color mixes. I usually use Testors enamel paints but sometimes acrylic is ok. I do disclose my touch-ups on items for sale so I’m not trying to fool anyone. No, the touch up never makes it perfect, but I think it really helps for a chip that’s minor, but that seems to stick out like a sore thumb, especially when you know it’s there. (Example: paint chip on a nose.)👍

    Hey George! Mother has that green Tupperware bowl you picked up there. My granddad had one of the old David Bradley walk-behind tractors. That cover brought back memories. Love the cast iron cookware. I'm looking for one of the 6-piece cornbread pans in the shape of corn-on-the-cob. I had one, but it went missing.
    Wow!, it would take a whole day to go through that flea market place! I like the old spin tops there. That well dipper was a nice one, and it looked to be in really good condition. I've used those a few times in my life. Do you know if there was ever a water set made in Jadite? I've looked for an old one, but never found one. I think Mosser makes one, but I want an old set, if one was made. Hey!, there was actually a Dr. Pepper sign there...WOW!!! I like to have that metal wall phone. Great places to shop! Thanks for taking us along!!!

      I did see one Dr. Pepper in all that, and the metal wall phone is the thing most likely to take me back there to see when it goes on sale! I don't know why I didn't get the well dipper! I do not think an old water set was made in Jadeite, I've seen a quart pitcher by McKee but I don't think they made a larger one. I had NOT seen a David Bradley walk-behind tractor before I looked up the hood of that one!

      @@TheAntiqueNomad It's not often to see a Dr. Pepper advertising sign floating about these days. I was surprised to see that one. That metal wall phone would be a good pick-up, if you can get it at a good price! Those type well dippers were made, mainly, to use in drilled wells - they fit in the drilled hole. Dug wells usually had the buckets for them, although the dippers worked just as well in both. I've also seen the McKee quart Jadeite pitchers. I think they were made for milk, and if there were some milk glasses that came with them, I'd like to have a set of it. Let me tell you - those David Bradley walk-behind tractors would beat the living crap out of you!!! They were like trying to turn Titanic around, when you got to the end of a row. My granddad had the attachments to the one he had, too. The cutting discs had a seat mounted on those. The tires were filled with water, instead of air, too.

    Just came across your channel and enjoyed the contents. Both at the flea market and the Anything Goes Trading Co. I would have a field day at both of these places, especially at the Anything Goes Trading Co. location. How do they handle all these items that are outside against Mother Nature? Oh, I also subscribed!

    • @TheAntiqueNomad
      @TheAntiqueNomad  3 роки тому

      Thank you for subscribing! I did enjoy both of those places a lot. The first one is a weekly flea market, so if the weather gets bad they just pack it and go home. Anything Goes just leaves it outside and takes their chances

    I never get to see the things I like on UA-cam: it's always about heavy stoneware or heavy glass pieces from the 60's and 70's... or rotten chunky pieces of rusty pipes! which can be beautiful per se, but enough is enough. How about showing those beautiful shelves where lovely objects are displayed, besides passing by quickly with a trembling image? I mean porcelain, gildings, figurines, paintings, refined glass, brass and silverware, toyish pretty things, and so on... Sadly, no one ever listens or hardly. Nice tour, though, but their prices are just absurd for flea markets. Salutes from snowy Mount-Lebanon.
