Can we discuss how fitting it was to have Edie Falco cast as Hilary Clinton in “American Crime Story: Impeachment”?
Even in “The Sopranos” they made parallels to Mrs. Clinton and the mafia wives of that show.
Carmela/Edie Falco is truly the First Lady of modern day TV drama wife of anti-hero husband.

I think a sane person watching the show would realize pretty quickly that Walt is mostly wrong, his lying is obnoxious and not always necessary and his wife is a saint for tolerating him. However, someone who sees BB as a "omg so badass SAY MY NAME" and puts themselves in the shoes of the main character to their own ethical detriment would become religiously attached to Walt, bending to his narcissistic will and drinking in that power fantasy like a 5th grade english student about to get an F on their deconstruction of The Little Engine That Could.

Lady MacBeth is the quintessential example of "The Woman Behind the Man". It is her who initially urges a reluctant MacBeth to kill Duncan for their own gain, but once the murder occurs, she feels immense guilt, while MacBeth is mostly indifferent.

Sometimes people need to share the guilt - the one person says that they never actually did anything, while the other claims it wasn't their decision so it's not their fault. Some people say that slaughterhouse workers are psychopaths while having no guilt about buying or eating meat. Pure cognitive dissonance.

This is exactly what happens. When they put a character in the way of the hero and the plot we aim to watch that character becomes “troublesome”, “annoying” even “hateful” to us.
      It happends very often too.
Usually in action movies where the plot involves taking the female lead away for her safety. She will still be unaware of any danger or even the existence of the male lead yet (so from her perspective a random guy is kidnapping her therefore she struggles/ argues/complains/ sometimes tries to escape) all things we would expect from someone taken without consent.
But to us, that know what’s happening, that know she is safe and the lead is a “good guy” , she is being very annoying.

I don't think it's that simple. If you watch Better Call Saul, the love interest for our main character is beloved and she is a she. If it was sexism, wouldn't it stand to reason the fans would hate her? The character that is most like the Skyler character is Jimmy's brother, Chuck. He is hated by fans. I think people love to just use sexism or misogyny to explain something like this, but when fans hate a male character, it's not misogyny, but people don't ever seem to make the connection that it's for the same reasons that we might hate a female character.

The tableau of Walt Jr. shielding Skylar always makes me wanna cry. He's a young kid with a disability, but that doesn't stop him from stepping up. That is a diamond moment in an already diamond series 💖
And the premise for Kevin Can F*ck Himself is absolute genius. We see Kevin's perspective as a fun, whacky sitcom where everyone loves his goofy shenanigans, but Alison's perspective is very much an unappreciated, misunderstood, trapped woman by her husband's 'goofiness'.... brilliant stuff 👌

Villains and hero are not as easy as black and white. If the story it’s told from a certain perspective and have no moral judgement of the character, someone like Walter even tho in real life would be considered a villain, in the story and how everything evolves around him, he is the “hero” of the story. And we have seen than in many films recently: Cruella, joker, The suicide squad, etc.

Even before Walt cooked his first batch of meth, Skyler wanted the fruits of Walt´s labor from having two jobs and a miserable life. After Walt became evil, she still wanted to keep the money and benefits of Walt´s meth cooking.

I think Carmella is the only blonde character on the show, obviously dyed blonde as a choice.
