I actually really like Alex as a complicated antagonist. Benedict Wong gets the balance so right, striking that sort of caring but dismissive older brother tone.
Just wanna put this out there even if this is an old video. I can agree with your opinion in regards to the Alex being a tragic figure here who just wants his old sibling back. Perhaps the nullwave ending was the canon. Here, due to Morgan installing a pretty significant amount of typhon mods into himself, the nullwave may have also "lobotomised" Morgan along with all the Typhons within Talos 1 space. So he's dead. Perhaps the use of Morgan's cells is a way for Alex to try to bring back his lost sibling again other than the main agenda. Alex went as far as risking his own life to shake a typhon's hand. What happens next is another story.
Damn, i had the same thought about the nullwave killing me as well, because i installed a lot of typhon neuromods. So before activating the nullwave, i put on the nullwave shield chipset, dont know if it affects the ending or not
I don't think that the nullwave device can kill a Typhon-empowered Morgan. For a simple reason: the device attacks specifically the Coral, which is pretty much an external neural network for the entire Typhon race. Morgan is not dependent by it to exist, because he is still a human with its own brain.
@@mattmark94 I wouldn't be so sure. In mooncrash we learn that they had been developing kill towers that eliminate every Typhon in a certain range, which also kills anyone with a significant amount of Typhon Neuromods. Maybe the Nullwave works differently but I wouldn't be so sure
@@mattmark94 funny. Remember when we used "phoning it in" as an expression of low effort? I know the audio team always wants crystal clear master recordings if they're professionals. They add the filters over lines the player will hear in game, like the static, artifacts, to make it feel immersive. With today's technology you can get really good recording quality over remote sessions. Good enough for the final product like the setting of Prey. A few compression artifacts wouldn't hurt the immersion, lol.

Watching the Martian right now and I immediately recognized Alex's actor in it... it's kinda odd since I've never seen him before, played through Prey only once, and the guy was on screen for about 6 seconds as far as I know. He's got a very distinctive voice

9:06 The funny thing is in the Mooncrash DLC you find its an absolute sintch to destroy a Typhon if you have enough ammo. Security should have been able to handle things.

You find it in a Mitsuko Tokaji's office in psychotronics, you can get it from outside the room through the window. And to unlock the door you have to shoot the terminal with the huntress boltcaster.
