    After commenting "I'm going"... I went! The waiting line outside was long (~18 people) but the take-out service at the register inside was instant!👍 Back home it was very delicious, and due to the thick katsu there were left-overs that were still good after a light toasting to regain the crispiness. I will go back. Thank you for the video SugoUma, 凄くうまかった!!

      i am heading there in september. can you please help me understand with the takeout - does that mean once you were inside after waiting in the line the take out was able to be ordered, or can you head in past the line for takeout and order without waiting? thank you!

    • @nathanalgren5247
      @nathanalgren5247 Рік тому +10

      @@luke-xz1gb Yes, you can skip past the people waiting in line and go straight inside to the small register on the left and order your take-out. I went back (again!) the other day and also got the katsu 'sando' (sandwich) that was very tasty.

    神奈川県の新松田駅付近にもありますが「極厚」を頼んで食べましたが3切れ残してしまいました。持ち帰り用のタッパーも有りますしとても満足しました。サンドイッチも極旨でした。正式には焼きカツ丼です。
    There is one near Shin-Matsuda Station in Kanagawa Prefecture, but I ordered the "extreme thickness" and ate it, but I left 3 slices. I was very satisfied with the Tupperware for takeout. The sandwich was also excellent. It's officially a grilled cutlet bowl.

    I know everyone jokes about America always having the largest food portions, but today Japan decided that they needed some time in the spotlight too. That pork is HUGE.

      The difference as far as I'm aware is that in America, our "side dishes" are the size of the full meal of other nations, so this 300g pork cutlet is 10oz, served with a bowl of rice and 2-3 eggs, a hearty meal, but at an American steakhouse, you have a 12oz steak, a pile of mashed potatoes, pile of vegetables, and this is after a salad, some bread, and all before desert. Don't get me wrong I love katsu, I make a chicken katsu bowl that has half an onion per bowl that adds a nice sweetness to it.
      but Americans really do do things big and we do them often. In Japan people have to work hard to get to Sumo weight, in America we have to work hard to not be at Sumo weight :)
      you should totally learn to make katsu yourself, it's remarkably easy once you try it out ua-cam.com/video/ZfF7yTbc4fY/v-deo.html

      Living in Japan for an extended period as a foreigner kinda sucks.. Japan has great food and culture, but, their culture is just so much different and honestly the quality of life in Japan is bad. Probably why the birth rate is soo low. They all work themselves to death and everything is too strict. Its not all great like it appears to be online.. I lived in Japan for 6 years. It gets old fast. No lie, I responded to a crisis call in my complex, and a man had died in his chair drawing Manga with his pen still in his hand. Literally worked himself to death. His friends told me he was super stressed about an upcoming deadline, and had lost 20lbs in 3 weeks while working 18 hours a day.

      As you rightly pointed out, it is difficult to sustain living in Japan for a long period of time. The number of affluent individuals relocating abroad is increasing, and there are also many Japanese people being encouraged to leave the country. As it stands now, Japan is facing challenges. I hope that Japan becomes a more livable place.

      @@JonHop1very true, however, the culture? Many people might not get used to the culture, but its perfect for me atleast.
      and the quality of life? Its not that bad for me at the very least. It all depends on the person.
      And Yes it is overly strict, as quick tip don't work for black companies (which is very hard to know which one is a black company). You will overwork yourself..
