    2019 SR+ M3 here. Just had the retrofit done, and it's worked great. I sometimes need to travel to areas that don't have a Supercharger available within 50mi, but a CCS fast charger in under 20mi. The peace of mind was worth the price!

      Definitely! Glad it’s working well with you

    There is no *new* CCS retrofit for Model 3 and Y... It's been available for a few years. 2022 I believe for Model 3 and Y.

      Not quite,
      Most models after some point in 2021 shipped with the proper chip but older models didn’t and the retrofit was only previously available for Model S and X. Although, it was announced quite a while back. Just not launched until recently:

    it i funny how, in the UK and Europe NACS does not exists and most cars, including Tesla and their superchargers, have CCS ports and a great many (now) chargers with the numbers still increasing for DC and AC destination chargers.

      You guys definitely got it together sooner across the pond. Wish all these companies over here could’ve played a bit nicer together sooner🫡😂

      @@ClipPlayTV CCS 2 in Europe is horrible and clunky. I'll stick with NACS.

      Don’t get me wrong I’m not by any means advocating for CCS over NACS. There have been instances in which certain implementations of CCS are less safe due to a number of factors around crappy build quality with connectors making consumers vulnerable to exposure to electric current. I’m alllllllll for NACS. This is more or less a peace of mind thing in the mean time while adoption and infrastructure are occurring/in development.
      Better to have access to both if you need it

      @@ClipPlayTV That may be the case in the US, it's all CCS here and in Europe (apart from the occasional Chademo) including Teslas which come with ccs as standard and I guess ours must be better built.

    Please no... CCS DC charging stations are sometimes cheaper than Tesla charger stations and there are only 2-4 chargers on average.. You know what they don't need? More Teslas trying to charge on them to save a few bucks instead of the MANY Tesla stations available. CCS should never have been made available to Tesla till Tesla finished making Tesla Stations open to all 3rd parties.

      You don't have to worry. Most Teslas would prefer to use their superior supercharger stations.

    why would i want to use CCs >>>>EA is not reliable and some of the other brands are not as well.

    • @ClipPlayTV
      @ClipPlayTV  Місяць тому +3

      It’s more about having the option to fast charge where there aren’t Tesla superchargers…I’ll absolutely go for a Tesla Supercharger all day but if a ChargePoint or EA charger is the only option then I’ll definitely take it vs nothing

      @@ClipPlayTV you are better off driving to the closet SC then waiting in line at at EA....Most EA station have only 4-6 stations and 1 or 2 of the are out of order

      EA often offers free charging weekends.
