Jim Carrey made the 1990's enjoyable with his amazing comedy in Ace Ventura Pet Detective, Ace Ventura When Nature Calls, Dumb and Dumber, The Mask, The Cable Guy, and The Truman Show. They were all original movies unlike today with remake after remake. GOD Bless all of you my brothers and sisters. Much Love.
I NEVER allowed critics to judge my opinion of a movie. People go for the experience of watching something great or shite, I sat with my son and laughed at the hilarity of Ace Ventura, it’s the time you have, knowing/not knowing if it’s going to be great or shite. A true thrill, people take time for granted! Thanks, Oog for laughing with me a second time as we watched it again! (Yes we bought 2 more tickets) ❤
Ace Ventura is one of my all time favorite comedies, just behind a couple Monty Python and Mel Brooks flicks.
I saw Ace Ventura in the theatre 4 times, on the same day. I laughed so hard, I had to have that experience again.
Didn't see it 4 times, but all my money went to the movie thearter. Then I wore our the VHS when it came out.
Lolll wow 😂
No you didn't
Legend
That's extremely weird
Jim carrey defined my childhood and humor, i still remember when i was introduced to billy Madison, and chrid Farley but jim carrey was that age where my mind was becoming memorable.
Adam sandler is the biggest unfunny loser to ever make it in Hollywood, Chris Farley had moments when he was funny that was it. Neither one of them compare to the amazing talent of Jim Carrey
So sweet. How was it to live with juvenile dementia?
Adam sandler and Chris Farley are NOT anything special… Chris Farley was funny but he only had his moments, His one shtick was only funny for so long. No one comes to the talent of Jim Carrey
@@nsasupporter7557wo, wo, easy there dragon...they never said Farley or Sandler were at Jim Carrie's level, but I will say Chris Farley was great
@@larrykinsella8282 ooooh! I’m a dragon? Cool 😎
Chris Farley was not great… a guy who could only be an “overweight buffoon” to get a laugh is not great, tiger 😉 if you think that that is great then you need to expand your horizons a little
I’ve grown up quoting Ace Ventura. Been watching it what feels like my whole life. I’m in my mid 20’s and it’s still one of my favorite characters ever” ALLLLLRIGHTY THEN!”
When nature calls is HILARIOUS!!
I don't remember ever seeing that episode but unfortunately I'm old enough to have seen a lot of Siskel & Ebert and they were certainly the kind of critics that would have admitted they were wrong and like Sasha said they had just never seen anything like his performance before and for critics to admit that they were wrong and didn't know what they were seeing is absolutely awesome and of course just reiterates how awesome Jim Carrey is and that he was a true original.
I remember seeing “Once Bitten” and knowing that he’d be a star.
Man I loved that pic!
That was a good one
When he drank the blood from the meat instead of the OJ
I've watched "Ace Ventura" countless times and it still makes me lose it!! One of my favorite lines is landlord "Ventura" he says "yes Satan" lol
Was my favorite movie as a kid. I wanted to be Jim Carry when I grew up. He was my hero
Imagine if people had the class to admit when they were wrong? And the heart to realize empathy is soulful in many ways. What a wonderful world this would be😮
For me he's transcended his art and become a great human being.
This movie when it came out, I was a child and I was going through a lot of abuse and stuff like that. He pulled me through most of the shit that I went through. I love Jim Carrey he’s great.
When I was 9 years old I used to go to the video rental store because they had a computer there in 1999 and you could search what movies they had, I used to search Jim Carrey. He was my favourite actor and because of him I had a good sense of humour at school. Now I’m 33. The Mask is in my top 3 favourite movies.
The Genius of Jim Carry is beyond normal thought processes. I have busted a gut and shed so many tears of laughter watching his many comedies for years... Bravo Jim!!
That is absolutely amazing what a guy and what an actor Jim Carey is 👌🏼 top class
Jim Carrey is 1 in a billion..thats why i loved being a kid in the 90s...I had Jim Carrey, Will Smith, Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, Martin Lawrence, Chris Tucker, Jackie Chan, Ben Stiller, Jet Li...so many great entertainers.
Robin Williams!
Of all his movies, Ace is still my all time favorite. What an awesome guy!
He’s my hero. Always has been. The main reason I love making people laugh and smile. I really hope I get to meet him one day!
Seeing both of the Ace films in theaters was such an experience, and I miss that collective enjoyment that a comedy film can do to a theater full of people. Nothing but nonstop laughter, and the hype after the first movie came out was undeniable and everyone was quoting it. I was in middle school at the time and this movie dominated our daily conversations.
This guy deserves everything he has Great movies Jim
That movie made me a fan to the point that I watched every movie with Jim Carrey in it. Heck, I watched the Sonic live action movies just to see Jim Carrey as Egg Man...And it was incredible to see him in action again.
Jim Carrey is my favorite actor, the true man, mask, Ventura I loved em all. Thank you.
I think you meant The Truman Show
@@Stardust_7273 yeah, I loved that movie, we should watch it together
Yeah! The best comedian ever!
I like how the actors were all shaking their heads at the negative comments about Ace Ventura. They all realized it was great
God bless him. Hes a phenomenal actor and I can watch every movie he's every made over and over and laugh just as hard as I did the first time. Im a huge Jim Carrey fan, he made the 90s awesome
Brother Jim , You're absolutely one of the best ,funniest, classiest genius comics in the history of this world brother. I think you're just amazing brother and I'm glad I grew up with you making me laugh more than anyone else ever could !!!!!!
Siskel and Ebert are the best in the business and this story proves it. No other critics are so honest they recognize when they are wrong
Nah, they only said that when the numbers came back and didn't want their credibility to be tossed out the window, making them irrelevant.. they also said that pulp fiction was the worst movie ever made, but they never took that one back.. they were irrelevant by that point. They've always had terrible taste. Pandering more towards Hollywood executives rather than the art. Never listen to movie critics or reviews. You never know if you share similar tastes with those individuals.
Moron. Their initial review of Pulp Fiction is right here on UA-cam. You don't even have to watch it for 30 seconds before Ebert calls it "amazingly entertaining" and then Siskel goes on to praise the movie as well.@@zombywoof864
They didn't say they about pulp fiction.
@@zombywoof864Yep. Admitting they were wrong is a nice gesture but that's all it is. What matters is that were wrong and, worse, they were horribly wrong. I can understand when someone says "I don't like this, it's not for me" but critics like them say "this is horrible, this is bad for everybody, worst ever, etc.".
@@chriscornelius2518 yea, they did. lol even the dvd of pulp fiction has a special feature based on just that, and tarantino has talked about it in many interviews 😆 look up their review of pulp fiction here on youtube if you dont believe me..
Carrey is like Adam Sandler, they have one comedy shtick that gets old. When they do serious stuff they are amazing. I like that
It is so refreshing to see comments like yours in places like this. You are correct. And I still need to see Uncut Gems.
Adam was never funny though
"The majestic" doesn't get enough love
I was so happy they cast him as Dr. Robotnik. It was a perfect casting! Jim Carrey is an ultra legend.
That was an incredible year. He did Ace Ventura, The Mask and Dumb and Dumber all in the same year.
Ace ventura was in 93, mask in 94 , and dumb and dumber came out in 95 i believe not the same year
@@Dazed.Donuts but could have worked with multiple ones simultaneously?
@alanmoton8148 most likely not id say they were filmed back to back as he wasnt picked to do mask or dumb and dumber until after they saw what kind of box office numbers he could bring in
The worst movie ever made? Clearly they've hadn't seen Cabin Boy.
Nope. Putney Swope.
It's a guilty pleasure. It's so bad but I do enjoy it 😂
@@-_Vegeta_- You will never be a Cabin Man. 😂
@@FloridaManMatty I apparently missed this one. Sounds like a contender.
@@-_Vegeta_-it was a very bizarre movie
Jim Carrey, is at least 70% of my childhood happiness & even to this day as an adult, Jim Carreys humor, still makes me laugh no matter how bad things are.
Legend.
I would just be stunned to meet this man. One of the best actors to ever live and an amazingly beautiful human being. God bless you Jim. ❤
CAN YOU RE-UPLOAD THIS WITHOUT THE BACKGROUND MUSIC
When i see these guys, my first thought is Trump 2024!!!!
Trump 20-24 years in prison.
@@richardvinsen2385 Trump is the cleanest man to ever be involved in politics. The Dems have been trying to get him for 6 years. Trump is like Daniel before they threw him in the lion's den. Maybe try making prayer illegal.
The last time I ever wet myself was as a child watching this.
Definitely my favourite childhood comedy movie. Absolute genius
Absolutely epic movies, I Memorized both movies by heart when I was younger lol.
I couldn't believe how hilarious this movie was when it first came out. We rewound and watched it many times in a row!
i'm a movie critic, a movie buff, i always rate movies very precisely and write reviews. i bought the Truman Show on DVD so i own it. Ace Ventura 2 (Natures Call) i saw that in the theater. You can even rewind to young Jim Carrey in The Cable Guy, and I'm still giving strong ratings. This man is a hero. a legend. a master class for comedy. And I'm grateful he was born and launched his career which has blessed this entire planet. (beyond what we can comprehend. His impact is probably greater than anybody realizes.)
Spent a good few hours of my childhood mimicking Ace’s walk. Jim brought that character to life like nobody else could at the time. What a match; what an actor.
"Clown With Class."
...I love it.
Man one of my favorite movies of all time I was 7 when I saw it
still to this day lol
Jim Carey and his movies were the theme tune to my childhood
💯
That movie was absolute genius. Great memories as a kid
I saw Ace Ventura opening night in a packed theater. The crowd loved it.
Classic comedy he still got some lines that hit hard today. I still watch this movie
