Bill Murray Gives Wes Anderson An ‘Automatic Yes’ When He Calls His 1-800 Number | Sunday TODAY

- Опубліковано 14 кві 2018
- Bill Murray is famously difficult to get a hold of, having a 1-800 number for people to call rather than using a manager. Yet, the elusive star was happy to sit down with Willie Geist on the second anniversary of Sunday TODAY to talk about his decades-long career on screen. In the Sunday Sitdown, Murray talks about how he always agrees to do projects with Wes Anderson, his recent return to “Saturday Night Live” portraying Steve Bannon and his latest film, the “Isle of Dogs.”

Bill Murray Gives Wes Anderson An ‘Automatic Yes’ When He Calls His 1-800 Number | Sunday TODAY
if Wes Anderson calls me i'll say yes before he even asks
Such a sweet man, and the most wonderful director.
I hope Wes always includes Bill in his movies. It’s always a treat to see him. You can see that Murray has taste for good film.
he's not allowed to die.
he is still fairly young 70, trump is older.... hope he live until 100 at least as much as the rockefellers... or the poor people of some small town that last until almost 120...
I was just thinking the same thing: how do we keep him around forever. Maybe he won't die, maybe he'll just become a zombie, and that was the joke? Maybe he's zen enough to never die?
of course not. don't worry. he can't die.
Collective will has kept the british queen alive, we can do this people!
@@RollOpeo1 either its collective will or the blood of babies. that one is not completely clear.
Bill Murray and Wes Anderson are the best.
We need dna samples before it is too late.
Bill Murray
Tom Hanks
Robin Williams
Legends.
Morgan Freeman
That's a very limited list. I mean surely you must have more than those 3 listed as legends?
@@peterick5418 he's not a comedian.
Cross off Tom Hanks
@@HarrySwanny29 Why?? Because of the stupid conspiracy theories?
LOST IN TRANSLATION was the movie that made me LOVE MOVIES.
*Rushmore* (1998) is so wonderful as well, honestly, it starts off kind of annoyingly hipsterish....
But then, *really surprisingly* it completely wins over your heart, we laughed a lot and left with a big smile - LOVE IT, one of Murrays best fo' sho! :D
Thought it was boring and weird
True
That's the movie that made me love Scarlet Johansson.
Lost in Translation is best Love Movie of all Time!!
I am really surprised that Bill hasn't worked with the Coen Brothers. His quirky style would suit their movies to no end.
He is just not that Hollywood
@@MakeSomeNoiseAgencyPlaylists i agree...he is too iconic for their movies. his fame would distract too much from the Coens special world.
Gavin says: I've just been slimed!!!
you ever notice that the Cohen like to find underappreciated actors with great chops instead of picking name brand actors that way the story speaks for itself. i never understood why they liked George Clooney. I mean he's not bad in there movies, but i dont like him because he's the same character in every single movie.
Jay Gasper ,their.
I love how after all these years, Murray still sounds like a working class Chicago boy.
That's because he kinda is. If you look him up on the internet, there are all kinds of strange stories about him. He's just a down to earth guy using his fame and money to do what he wants.
Here are some confirmed stories about him: ua-cam.com/video/THVrIonLi7g/v-deo.html
@@PalmDesertRock Listen here cupcake we're not canceling Bill Murray of all ppl, ok?
I know he gets inside himself pretty deep. I hope he’s feeling the light we give him. His family and friends and fans. Thank you Mr.Murray.
"What kind of cat was it?"
"Who gives a shit....I think it was a tabby."
Two words. Legend... childhood. This man IS my childhood and a true legend. Love him!
The life aquatic is my favorite movie! I love Wes Anderson’s movies and the fact he uses my favorite actor Bill Murray!
“Do you have any regrets?”
“Garfield, maybe.”
You know you're getting old when you see your childhood heroes looking like a granpa now.
Bill Murray will always be one of my favorite actors.
Groundhog Day is the greatest movie of all time
after ghostbusters
I'm thinking of a number between anything and two.
You've obviously never seen the Porkys 1, 2 and 3.
I said that yesterday
Yeah, well, y’know, that’s just like, uh ... your opinion man.
Wes is like the only director who can still get Bill Murray in roles, aside from Sofia Coppola.
Don't forget the Farrelly brothers and Jim Jarmusch.
Bill is such an underappreciated actor when you see how excellent he is serious just as much as comedy. He and Michael Keaton both don not get the respect they deserve.
Bill Murray in Lost in Translation was one of the best. Perfect movie.
He's not underrated at all dude... What have you been smoking? He's a legend - doesn't need to show up to stuff cuz he along with, Deniro, pacino, Nicholson etc will be remembered for their work and not their flamboyant lifestyles...
The Angry Dudeist Both Murray and Keaton received Best Actor nominations. One was a Ghostbuster and the other was the first Batman. Trust me, they'll stay beloved and respected forever.
John Kim
By our generation maybe, but i dont think they are appreciated by newer generations like they should be.
no, murray received a best actor nomination for lost in translation.
Wes and his wonderful use of yellow. :)
mykylc and reds. He uses warm colors. Love Wes!
U mean mustard? ;)
Even his urine is ochre.
Lost in Translation is by far my favorite Bill movie.
The thing about Bill doing Garfield is literally a full circle.
Back in the day, Lorenzo Music used to do Venkmen on the Real Ghostbusters, which was Bill's chara, because he sounded the same.
Later on, Lorenzo lent his voice to Garfield cartoons from the 90s on, up until his death.
Thus, Bill playing Garfield is the ultimate Tribute to Lorenzo, even if it wasn't intentional.
It would mean the world to spend the day in his presence! I can only imagine the wisdom!
Bill Murray is the best, ever!!!! and I feel lucky that I got to experience him within my lifetime, because he is truly one of them, you know what I'm talkin about, THE ONES who gave us laughter tears and beyond....and I still and will live by one of his famous lines from one of my favorite movies...." IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER!" 😘 For all you Meatballs out there!!!!
Don't let Bill get any older, we need him!!!
He is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS
Is there anybody like Bill?A truly unique and wonderful man!!❤❤❤❤
If only the members of "The Academy" would actually listen to he and other actors and actresses that have said comedy is harder to pull off than drama. So true.
Wes Anderson needs to direct Ghostbusters 3. That gets Bill Murray confirmed in the cast.
Sean Harmon the life aquatic with peter venkman
Uncle Bill Murray!! We love you!
(If I only I could leave him a message; one to add to our/my spirit family list)
I love Bill Murray. He’s got that cool vibe without even trying.
"so you were in that movie, how was that?". "so you were in that show, thats was cool, right?"... ech. Chris Farley called, he wants his interviewing skills back.
The idea you have to call the number for Bill Murray and give a good pitch, gives me a bit more insight into Willie Geist. It seems like he's living his childhood dreams talking to Murray
One of my all time favorite actors
This is a great interview!
Loved him in St. Vincent. Probably his best role.
The in depth interview with Howard stern I could listen to a million times over✌🌎
RUSHMORE WAS AND STILL IS MY FAVVV
When he slaps the basketball out of the kids hands lol
love it too was filmed in my city :)
Yea Beautiful Movie, in my top 5. I went to Prep school and it REALLY touches me withers humor and Humanity.
My favorite Bill Murray movies - Meatballs, Caddyshack, Stripes and What About Bob. Perfection.
These also have bill Murray starring life aquatic of steve zissou & rushmore (revolve around Bill Murray) , Fantastic Mr Fox, Isle of dogs (have Bill Murray in them)
Thanks for all the love❤ and support. Seriously blown away by the love from all of you.thank you
Less we forget Bill’s now forgotten 1984 “The Razors Edge” break out attempt to be considered as a serious actor… People don’t remember now, but critics and the likes who laughed at him didn’t let him live it down for at least 10 years… They always reminded us of it….Who’s laughing now? Great talent, Opportunity, luck= Legends!
You know you've made it if people call you to work for them rather than you calling others to hire you
kinda hard to see how time takes all these legends :/
Mister White he’s one of very few celebrities to not try to hide his age with plastic surgery.
Pathetic but it's sadder than me getting old!!
That voice though. Perfect Garfield.
Yup. He may hate it but he IS Garfield.
What a fascinating talent with such a down to earth senseibility✌🌎🌠
The life aquatic is my most fav movie, ever! And Wes Anderson is a genius! Both great... the best company to be in.
Great to see him just keep going. As A kid I watched groundhog day every day of my 6 week Christmas holiday. Thanks for making me smile.
Love everything attached to Wes Anderson.
Rushmore is my favorite movie of all time. I watch Wes Anderson movies because of Bill Murray.
i find it funny that the guy who did garfield's voice in the cartoons did murray's voice in the real ghostbusters and murray did garfield's voice in the live action garfield movie, but yet nobody ever talks about that
Bill Murray is one of my favorites actor he doesn't have to be funny the looks on his face is priceless 👌
Good interview 😎
This interviewer has a fully weaponized smile / face Yeesh! O~O
*SO... WHERE'S THE SECOND HALF??*
Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Lost in Translation are my faves.
wish Bill had given me an automatic yes.
When I sent CAA my Nick The Lounge Singer script.
Met Bill at the DGA circa the Nancy Littlefield era.
Was doing an internship for Nancy -
Bill's office being in the building (W. 57th).
The maintenance dude, Jimmy, said Bill's gonna be back soon (from shooting).
That he, that Jimmy would intro me.
That he and Bill were like-this.
Not so sure this was true - but sure enough Jimmy bought me up to meet Bill.
Who was unbelievably gracious to me.
...
My favorite. Anything with him is an automatic viewing, especially if it's a Wes Anderson movie.
"Requested an interview"? You mean right after you asked him for one?? That means Bill agreed to your request.
No need to make yourself look important, Willy.
They did it that way because he never called them back and randomly showed up some time later to request an interview. Context matters. Did you watch the video?
I'll see ANY movie by Wes Anderson with Bill Murray. Who am I kidding. I'll see anything with Bill in it. Love him.
Him talking about how he's never worked with the Coen Brothers made me think "why hasn't Bill Murray worked with the Coen Brothers?" He would be perfect in one.
We Love You Bill Murray!!!
