I called VPA one morning to have them add some thumper heads to my order. The guy that answered the phone said he had no idea how to do that. Then he said I'm going to just throw them in your package and not charge you. 👍

I am going with a similar setup. Easton Axis, 100 grain HIT insert, 2 different Broadheads, Bearpaw Yeagers 200 grain Double bevel or Crimson Talon 200 grain Single bevel. Oh and Nocturnal Nocks.
Nice. I'm actually starting my archery course today. Us in uk can't hunt big stock. And tbh I'm not against it if you're eating it, and 99.9 of hunters i watch fill up their freezer with good meat. I used to sharpen knives but i used stone, abit of oil. And yep i could shave with them. Just takes patience with knives. And there's a few ways that people do it. But that's buy the buy. Great video. I use the VPA 3 blade heads and yes I too sharpen them with sandpaper and they are scalpel sharp. Awesome heads.
At 42 lb I think sharp is better than a semi sharp wider broad head .it's all about penetration. Thanks 😊for heads up.
For $113 for 3 they should sharpen themselves, I’ll stick with my ACE that’s easy to sharpen and for $39 for 6
I dont know what the '''Sticker Shock $$''' is for just a clam pac of 3, but can only imagine that Id be thankfull I stocked up on what I consider to be the No.1 perfect BroadHead of all time that doesnt need improved several years ago. That would be the '''''not the stainless steel''' but rather the older green Bear RazorHead without that useless insert, & of course a chisel point. They fly like a field point & just work'''period''' As Fred said concerning penetration..''''Quote''' shooting a BroadHead is the same as throwing a knife.... As to the single bevel concept I just dont see the deal breaker there & heres an example why. If your arrow strikes a solid bone going in at even a slight angle, that extra cutting surfice is going to be nice to have while it perhaps glances off bone & into flesh unknown. Not my intent to start a debate about this folks, simply the opinion from someone whos lived traditional archery for 50 plus years.... Why shoot traditional''''' been asked this far too many times & I allways look forward to respond. When I was much younger I went to see Fred Bear at Henderson Archery in Phoenix Az, someone there asked him basically why he chose to shoot off the shelf without aids on his Bow like the target archers use,,'''sites,,clickers etc''''' Freds responce was'''''Quote''' Its not about hitting little dots & point rings on a target... I'm using the vpa 200 grain single bevel 1 1/8th" cut s7 tool steel rh bevel there absolutely wicked and fly great so far out to 65 yards. Using them on a 200 spine easton axis 5mm arrow with 75 grain brass insert complete arrow is 650 grains shooting them out of a 81# hoyt vtm 28" draw moving at 260 fps.

Can you do a video on wooden arrows. I have an Osage Orange self bow at 48lbs with my 28” draw length. I’m having a hard time with wooden arrows. But that’s what I want to shoot.
Have you ever tried one of Abowyers broadheads in the left bevels?
VPA shop is just north of me in Ft Wayne, Indiana. Ive shot their single bevels and they did just like all other broadheads. Its the person pulling the bow that determines how well that broadhead works. A gut shot is a gut shot. I dont think they're the holy grail of broadheads but if youre getting them for free I'd speak highly of them too. Prices are getting ridiculous. Im guessing soft steel to get a sharp cutting edge that fast.
I thought that too about the speed of sharpening.
The people at VPA broad heads must be using high quality steel a computer numeric cutting machine and a laser sharpening system because Phillips doesn’t brag like this about ANYTHING!

Yes and premium tool grade steel isn’t cheap to use not to mention they’re not outsourced in China made right here with pride and that’s why they have to charge more.
I'm in California the required bow pull weight is 40 pounds or more and the broadhead must not pass through a 7/8 hole how wide is that broadhead at its widest part?
I will be hunting next year with a 50+ pound bow your videos have helped me in my journey of learning traditional archery thank you.

So do you choose the vpa single bevel over the Simmons sharks
The omega is 100% the most penetrating and easiest to sharpen head I’ve ever used just don’t leave a lot of blood on the ground like the Simmons however they’ll put them down quick and bone is not an issue!
I’m more worried about blood trail plus I don’t want to pay over a hundred dollars for them I love the penetration but not that much thanks for responding

@@MichaelHatten-ev1fj one other very good choice from VPA is the 3-1 design 3 blade because they’re easy to sharpen as well and offer everything you’d want in a broadhead at a much lower price point 👍🏻
I think I’ll stick with Simmons I have zero complaints and shoot through everything I shoot with amazing blood trails if I actually don’t see them fall again thanks for the response I appreciate your UA-cam channel and all the informative information you supply

I definitely understand that but personally I’d rather buy cheaper arrows like warriors or something that still perform great and go with premium broadheads 💯
