ZSS is so hard man. I also struggle with Sheik, Fox, and Greninja.
I was also cursed with having Pit as my best character. Something about his movement just clicks. Wish his hitboxes were bigger and setups more forgiving
If Pit were a stronger character, Zakray would be the champion
I think pits hitboxes are big enough...
It’s not all bad pit did get significantly buffed and his buffs matter

Not a pit main, but I do play the character sometimes. I think Pit was very underrated for a long time, and Zackray coming out with his Pit helped correct a lot of that.
I think Pit is solid and not as honest as people think. My only real gripe with his moveset is ftilt. It comes out on frame 10, the same as his Fsmash. It is 39 total frames, which is worse than even some Smash attacks. Forget Steve's gold fsmash, Pit's own down smash is 40 total frames. Can't be angled for some reason, and the hitbox doesn't hit low enough to 2-frame. It kills decently, but only if it tips.
If they allowed it to be angled, it would be excellent for 2-frames because its active for 5 frames, and the endlag would be justified.
Or, they could have just given it 5 or so frames less endlag, then it would be a somewhat safe poke similar to other swordie ftilts. Given all the other good tools he has, I imagine that the move was intended to be a poking tool, but it unfortunately isn't safe enough to be a good one. Compare that to Lucas ftilt (arguably the best one) to see how outclassed it is.
If Pit ftilt was safe, I think Pit would go up a few spots on a tier list just for that.
Oh, yeah, air speed. He needs that too. A LOT. but if he actually had better air speed, he'd quickly become broken, so I understand that one LOL.
Pit's ftilt is def not the move to complain about imo. It lingers for a while which makes it nice for spacing and ledgetrapping. Personally I hate his nair because it's insanely inconsistent, doesn't have nearly as good dragdowns as it feels like it should, and it's hitbox is one of the most disgusting things I've seen in smash
When I first tried Pit, ngl, his nair was the thing that got me to say, "dude, Pit doesn't work, trash character" and forget about him for a while lol. Looking at the hitboxes, the dev team put in tons of manual labor to produce a held-together-by-duct-tape move, when they could have easily just made it one hitbox with an auto link angle. But nah.
That being said, it's still really good at what it does when it works. It's frame 4, has a lot of active frames, and can even set up combos at low percent. Also the finisher always sends in front of him which is good for edgeguards.
I definitely do hate the inconsistency on dragdowns. Move would be cracked if nair upsmash was real, but alas.
This is one of those times you just gotta accept there are certain things the move can't do, put on the copium mask, and only use it in situations where it works lol.

Honestly, and it's accurate canonically too, he shouldn't have multiple jumps, and then his air speed can be improved.
