How incredibly sad that the judge gets into this too. If he didn't make the mother whip out the beds picture and the refrigerator picture, he shouldn't make the father. Why does the father have to PROVE he's a good parent but the mother doesn't, unless the father is accusing her of not being.

    • @amygoldstein3771
      @amygoldstein3771 4 роки тому +52

There’s a much longer answer to this, but what it comes down to is assumptions about men and women.
You know how fathers of young children are praised for taking the kids grocery shopping with them, or just out to the park (and some people still call this babysitting)?
It’s the same attitude that makes people think men don’t know how to be good parents when they’re single/divorced.
The assumption is (I think) that divorced fathers will try to cut corners and have their kids sleep on a pullout couch, or just order takeout for dinner.
Also, the judge could be called out for not making him do the same things he’d have any other parent do.
He knows this is Chris Rock, so all the more reason he can’t give him a pass on proving his home is fine for his kids to visit.

I wanted to laugh but this shit hit way close to home. I divorced 7 years ago and my ex did everything she could to alienate my kids.
I showed evidence to the judge (texts, emails, pictures and even receipts) to prove that I was taking care of them, the judge was easily convinced, but that hindered me instead of helping me.
From that point on, my kids started to say that I was spying on them and try to make their mom look bad, which I definitely wasn't. She managed to create a narrative that they totally believe in.
Now they won't even talk to me, let alone see me. That shit can break you.
EDIT: I just realized that people sent me numerous replies over the past year. I'm sorry I didn't saw them before. I took the time to reply to each of you individually.

Let me tell you how awesome family court and the child support system is in America. I was on child support for one of my three children since the age of 18. I'm 41 going on 42 this year, my son just made 23 this year and I also got taken off child support this year. I have one felony on my record due to habitually driving while license suspended which left me without a license for a year back in 2013 because the child support office would suspend my license without my knowledge or notices prior. So to all you young guys out there that may come across my comment. Wear protection and don't for a second think that having a kid at a young age before you've fully established yourself in life is a good idea. Stop chasing chicks and chase your goals. Read as many books as you can and travel outside the country as much as you can. Always work on mentally evolving. Learn proper money management. Believe you me one wrong decision in life can sometimes be very costly.

My ex and I got divorced. No scrapping, one lawyer, no joint custody bs with a timetable. He moved 10 minutes from me so our kids could split their time between us at their own discretion. Neither of us paid the other child support, If the kids were with me, I p[aid the expenses. If they stayed with him, he paid their expenses. We didn't interfere in how we chose to raise the kids in each others homes. When parents divorce the children become clever in pitting parents up against one another, with tales of ' My Mom said this about you, and my Dad said that about you.' We addressed that early by saying ' I don't want to hear about it.' Parents need to understand that a father loves their kids as much as their mother, and deserves equal time. Our kids have grown up loving both of us equally. My ex and I are on very good terms still, even though our kids are adults now.

What men are forced to go through in family court is disgraceful and is against their human right. No one should have to fight to get it see their kids, they belong to you first and foremost .
Without you there could have been no them.
Cris rock is a wealthy man and was asked to prove he is a responsible father by some stupid judge who simply wanted to find any reason to deny him or limit his custody and time with his children, simply because divorce is a money grab fir lawyers, women and the state .
Who has the kids as sole custodial parents , collects the money from the other and here’s a rich man that they wanna place into their collection system.
Simply as that ,they care absolutely nothing about anyone’s kids , children should have access to both parents equally , that isn’t something that should be negotiated .
It’s a system of modern day slavery , where your kids can be taken away from you fir little to nothing and your hand cuffed to the state . You don’t comply , you are made into a pseudo criminal .
Simply because you got married , had kids and things didn’t work out.
In today’s world you get married and have kids at your own risk .
Wether he cheats , she cheats the man loses . Unless he has money to spend . He went and bought another house close to the one he knew he was going to loose. Just to get custody of his kids , the average man doesn’t have those means , a divorce will cause him to have to go live with patents or live with room mates .

It's because our family courts (and really courts in general these days) are heavily biased towards women unfortunately. Because of feminism (of which the first and even second waves actually made meaningful progress towards equality, which the third wave has ruined and continues to ruin) courts have come to favor women in almost any affair. I have heard horror stories of men who have lost their children or worse. I think the worst one I heard was that a man who was a good father who adored his children, with an evil wife who did not. She initiated the divorce, and he got screwed out of his children and most of his possessions after his wife made a claim of SA and the "R word" that rhymes with grape. He lost most of his money, and was barred from meeting his children and still had to pay child support that he couldn't afford since nobody wanted to work with him after his subsequent firing following the case. He eventually met up with his daughter after she had turned 18 and left her wench of a mother, but the damage had been done and he suffered from severe depression. He killed himself not one year later out of sadness that even his daughter couldn't save him from. It's pretty horrible. It's part of why I don't want to marry. From what I understand the problem plagues Western Europe too.
