@@Mikiciko ive lived here 25 years so far which has been my entire life and know someone who was friends with the dude that made the tribute song to jordy lmao. It was pretty common to hear him be called white lightning around here. Just look up Jordy nelson white lightning and it should be the first video that pops up
I grew up outside of Manhattan. I watched Jordy run all over my brother's HS football team at Riley County, walk on at K-State and come up in the NFL. The dude makes us Kansans proud.
Jordys family had a fantastic cafe in his town. Its very common to see him at local gas stations and even the occasional local softball tournament. Hes a legend in our area
As a k-stater and a fan of your work, I had to click this one. As I have now watched it, all I have to say is that I freaking love your work, man! I loved jordy as a cat and loved your review of his career and take of the country life
I was always amazed at just how smooth Jordy looked on the field. Graceful. Whether he was running routes, blocking or running after a catch. No wasted motion in his game. His ability to position himself to create windows for ball placement was elite as well. He really reminded me of Wes Chandler in the 80's, one of my favorite players as a boy. I'm glad I got to watch the career of Jordy Nelson. He was a unique talent at the position.
I played tee ball against Jordy and his older brother Mike (shown in the last picture). Great memories, especially now. Fantastic video, a trip down memory lane.
Jordy Neslson is just a great guy. I grew up on a farm about 30 miles from his dad's farm, remember him in high school, remember him getting a chance to walk on at K-State, watched him become an All-American, get drafted by Green Bay, win a Super Bowl. He tore his knee up with Green Bay and he substitute taught at his kids' school, after retiring from the NFL, He could of been a coach or an announcer somewhere, but chose to move home and run the family farm. Also, when he was in the NFL, he'd bring other Packer players home to throw bales and work on the farm. Just a down to earth guy that his dream came true and got to play in the NFL.
I remember watching some preseason football in 2008 and saw Nelson looking really good in those games. I was never surprised about his eventual great play over the years. Super reliable guy that most teams dream of having. And man, that WR corps of Nelson, Driver, Jennings and Jones was one of the best. I actually grew up on a cattle ranch in Colorado. My dad worked incredibly hard year round. Fortunately he allowed me to choose my own path in life (mostly because he knew early on I was not rancher material at all). But that draw to nature is real. When I go on vacation, it's not to some bustling city, but finding spots in nature where I'll hopefully by myself.
Not a packers fan but Jordy was a fun player to watch and he had a knack for making plays when his team needed something. Looking forward to watching this
Jordy was fast and tough. CB's in both college and NFL would say, "that farm boy is fast". And if Jordy couldn't out run someone, he'd just run through them. Jordy's the poster child for "What Hard Work Can Do!" Jordy host a charity softball game in The Little Apple each summer with previous Kansas State and NFL players. He's a great softball player, big surprise! Great video, Thank You!
Love Jordy Nelson - forever a hero for stepping up in the Superbowl when Donald Driver went down with an injury. I drafted Jordy and Aaron for my PPR league in 2017 (I guess it was?), and then watched him go down with a non-contact in a pre-season game like 2 days later - and still haven't really spoken about it. Maybe some day, today it still hurts.
I did the dame thing (in my family Fantasy league) and left him on my team and had him active every game. I won that season. Jordy is the nicest, most wholesome man I've known of (except for my hubby). NFL and his fans are blessed to have been able to enjoy watching him! And in our memories forever.
That Rodgers-Jordy connection was so special to watch; it was like they shared the same set of eyes or something cause Jordy always knew where to be for Rodgers to get him the ball.
Man I missed Jordy Nelson when he was playing for the Packers with Aaron Rodgers. He was a great #2 and #3 WR throughout his career and he would make big plays when the team needed it
He was the number 1# until leg injuries caught up to him. He was the number #1 receiver on a team with Davante Adams. Jordy was one of my favorite packers of all time.

My dad coached against Jordie in hs, he said he was one of the best athletes he had seen in person, threw a streak ran down the field to still make a TD ensuring block on the ten
Enjoyed watching? Football is about admiring talent. You’re implying green bay has had untalented players. they’re not the bears lol.
