    I had my first course today, 1,5h and i learned the c2c, so that now I can do it every time pretty easily.
    I alsoways thought that I was gonna struggle so much, but its actually rally nice if you can just stay calm under water.
    The trainer also said that me getting my first roll less then one hour into the course was incredibly fast.

      That's awesome, well done. Yeah, I would agree. Building a consistent roll takes time, so having it pretty consistent after only an hour is amazing! Good work.

    Great video! This is going to be great reference for beginner and intermediate paddlers. Now I know which roll tutorials to search for by name and I will be able to more easily identify rolls. I didn't know there was a differece between a back deck hand roll and a c to c hand roll. I've watch several hand roll tutorial videos and they never differentiated the two. Thanks a lot

      Well, thank you for the suggestion! I've hugely appreciated your encouragement over the past months; definitely helped to keep me motivated to make videos.
      Bear in mind that some of these names probably aren't exactly what other people might call them. But there are definitely tutorials for some of these out there. And by the look of some of these other comments, I might be putting together a tutorial or two on some of the variants myself, so look out for that!

    I love your videos but PLEASE get a mic to get rid of the wind noise.

      Thanks. Fair comment. I'll endeavour to capture better sound in future.

    Can you do a tutorial for the back deck and reverse variant because i swear i have looked at every video and still cant end up forward. I can do the back deck sort of but seem to end up backwards still. You seem to categorise them so clearly compared to others.

      Thanks for the comment and suggestion, Tom. I'll see what I can do. It'll have to wait until I can do some filming in the pool, but I'm happy to try if you're willing to bear with me!

    I love going on the water in my full slice and I wanted to ask you are you able to do a flatwater front loop with a full slice like the delerious?

    • @MatthewBrookKayaking
      @MatthewBrookKayaking  11 місяців тому +2

      Glad to hear it! Full-slice is twice as nice! Haha. It's certainly doable, but the results will vary wildly between boats and people, and they're never going to be as visually impressive as loops in a modern playboat.

      @@MatthewBrookKayakingbut are there any points which are slightly different to a modern playboat Or is it just the perfect technique that is important?

    • @MatthewBrookKayaking
      @MatthewBrookKayaking  11 місяців тому +2

      Yeah, there are differences. First off, you'll need to be way more confident in your stability in the bounce. You also shouldn't expect to get air, so it's more of a shallow loop style. And you will need to kick out your feet a lot more forcefully, combined with feathering out the overhead sweep to end it.

    no hands roll ahaha??

    • @MatthewBrookKayaking
      @MatthewBrookKayaking  11 місяців тому +1

      Haha, missed a trick there too. But I suppose that's the point. Rolling with no hands (which I have seen some, usually younger and more flexible, folks achieve) is a party trick, not a roll for regular use in a whitewater paddler's arsenal.

    Have you got tutorials on all these?

      Not yet, but based on the comments here, I expect I'll be putting together a few!
