- UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer started his tour of the UK nations in Scotland on Sunday.
He'll first meet Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar and is then due to hold talks with Scotland's First Minister and SNP leader John Swinney, whose party had a disappointing election.
Speaking in an interview with the BBC, Sam White, Starmer's former chief of staff, believes the new PM took the "narrow path" to lead Labour to victory in the general election.

If someone was born in the last 3 years of the previous labour government, they would still not be old enough to vote until 2025 at the earliest. 14 years and 5 Conservative PM's sounds like a lot (and it is) but I genuinely feel that it will be seen as a turbulant blip between periods of stability.

The BBC is disrespected because it doesn't offer a fair reflection of society. I have noticed it places a lot of emphasis on replacing white presenters with black or brown skinned presenters. However, according to the BBC there are many other ethnic groups that haven't been thrust into the top jobs. If we are to believe the BBC lead the way in race, gender and equality, when are we to see some of the other groups represented that make up our nation. I am particularly interested in seeing a person who identifies as a cat reading the news in Cat language, accompanied by English subtitles. The BBC done this to themselves.

I agree about creating a shared purpose and working together to solve problems. Maybe the population should muck in and work together to fix their own problems, rather than arguing about who's philosophy is best and expecting government to solve them. There are so many people in the country. How to get them all on a social (not war) footing and actually help each other.

Where my standard of living is much better there is less government interference in your life and every thing is less stressful. The uk needs to make workers better paid for productive jobs and skills .being in high executive positions should only be rewarded when everyone in a company benefits ..and wealth needs to be more fairly distributed ..all able bodied people receiving benefits should do so kind of local work to benefit the communities and reduce costs ...
