very nice, good to know the secrets to save time and $$$ - please do continue to make UA-cam videos like this to help struggling owner Operators - Thank you
it seems dry ,how often do they grease the damn truck ?lack of grease is the problem. that throw out bearing on the clutch will be the next video hell make lol
Shaking could also be the load leveler out of adjustment. Especially on the 2018-on cascadia. If you noticed the headlight beams getting higher and higher and shaking more, the leveler needs adjusted.
I got hella shaking in my drives when I get up to about 55 mph. I just checked my driveshaft and it's moving back and forth when the forklift hits the trailer so it's not stuck. It doesn't seem like it's busted anywhere either. Maybe it's just an alignment problem, bc the tires are all good. Heck I only got 95,400 miles on her she's not even broke in yet.
But you had to fix plastic surface on drive shaft where it slides in there is seal goes around plastic surface and hold grease in the place and prevents dirt getting inside. They fix plastic surface at drive line shops or you have to buy another drive shaft
My truck vibrates and make loud grinding like noise when slowing down I figured it was the drive shaft seems like that’s where it’s coming from and my mechanic said it may be needing balancing
single axle day cab 2012 cascadia. all 6 new wheels and tires, all new shocks, alignment good, no play in front end, at the proper ride height. bad shake at 65mph but not at 55mph or 75mph. do you think this could be the issue.
check your steer tires some times they are out of round, lift the truck from the front, and spin the wheels with your hands, and look on the bottom of the tires and the ground, if they spin up and down from the ground, the tires are the problem
@@TRUCKINGTIPSDIY ive done that, dont see any out of round issues. they are michelin tires. changed from steel to aluminum on the front of the truck, no change, added all brand new drives, with new steel wheels, no change. all new shocks, no change, alignment, no change.
It's called a slip joint..it's supposed to slide up and down...while airbags are beung dumped..or when loading or unloading freight..etc..it should also have a zierk fitting for grease...that slip joint should have grease all the time...so no grease slips out .of the cap..it's for water seeping in...
Mine is 32 years old and still shiny. It never had a plastic sleeve. Must be a MB thing. I'd see if there's a no-plastic replacement if I were you. Unless you plan on ditching the entire truck once the dirt and moisture get into that shaft and ruin it. Taking that plastic off lets the piston slide in beyond the seal and that makes space for corruption. Hopefully it doesn't catch.
Ralph Stenic I have mine balance and have centrimatics and have tru balance centering on all wheels and drums still have shake but I’m now confident it’s in the rear end can twist driveshaft a whole inch when parked
@@hankssoftwash3713 I have the centramatics but I do know those are only good for 8 ozs. Haven't dont the tru balance or anything balance wise yet. I have moved 5th wheel around so king pin was centered between the drive axles. That helped a little. Made sure my leveling valve was set right that has been the most helpful. What gets me is it comes and goes. Some days it does it other days it doesn't. And doesn't seem to do it when i am bobtail. If it does its not as noticeable

Great video brother Thank you
Thanks for watching sir
What's the purpose of the sleeve? To keep water out?
Yes, also this ones don't require grease

Same here would love how to fix it i have thrown a lot of money at it
@@hankssoftwash3713 I am gonna try getting my drive tires balanced. Mine seems to be a high speed vibration like tires out of balance.
