    I have a 2005 jeep grand cherokee limited with navigation and factory amplifier. I have a kicker zx1500.1 on 2 10in american bass xfl dvc ran to 2 ohm with all 0 gauge wireing and a kinetic 1400 in the back. It was hooked to factory radio had no issues for a year. Changed the factory put for a kenwood ddx719 and used a pac c2r-chy4 interface for wireing. Radio and gauges kept going in and out when I hit hard. Thought it was the radio so I changed it out for a kenwood ddx793 excelon. Same issue. So I figured it was the interface changed it out for the same one. Problem still there. Then I took the radio ignition wire off the interface and connected to my acc out let. Now I can hit hard as I want radio stays on and plays but my dash is going crazy. Pulled out the radio harness is going on and off and gauges are insink with the interface going on and off. Unplug the interface gauges go back to normal. Can anyone help me with this issue

    Hi, I'm trying to put a factory Nav in a 2009 Cadillac DTS. Got the Nav unit took out the old head unit and got one of these harnesses. I have yet to install it but before I did I took it to Cadillac to have them try to take the theft lock off the head unit (head unit was used). When they ran diagnostics they couldn't find the head unit. Do you think once this is installed they will be able to find it? I really want this nav unit to work because I travel constantly for work and I hate onstar. Thanks guys!

    Do PAC harnesses work with BOSS stereos? I got an RP4-VW11 for one, and I have two questions:
    1. The SWC connection from the harness has a blue/yellow wire and a 3.5mm jack. My stereo just has a couple of wires labelled SWC 1 and SWC 2. How do I make this work?
    2. Should I use channel 7(listed as Pioneer/Other) for the radio switch setting? It seems like the obvious choice, but I'd like some confirmation before I begin.

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  8 років тому

      What ford do you have? Did you have a steering wheel control installed? If not check out the Pac-audio swi-cp5 it will work all the buttons on the steering wheel. Thank you for the question.

    • @gabbatimestyle
      @gabbatimestyle 8 років тому

      +Five Star Car Stereo I have a 2008 Ford Edge. The only keys that work are the volume buttons. Sync and talk ones don't work. Also the USB and AUX ports in my center console don't work. And I now have to use a new speaker to speak out of for the new NEX 5100 is that normal?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  8 років тому

      So there are a few things you can do. The steering wheel controls can be made to work when installed properly. There are extras wires that need to be connected at the sync brain ( located in the armrest) to get those buttons to function. The USB can be made to work if you unplug the factory USB ( located at sync brain)and add a female micro USB to male standard USB. Then plug it into the back of the radio. The Aux is a little trickier, that you have to cut the factory Aux wires and wire it to an Aux cable. It sounds worse than it is, most good shops should be able to do this. If your installer needs help have them give us a call.

    What this be good to just install a pioneer Bluetooth to keep using the stock bose amp and keep using my features except the OnStar I really don't care for it cuz it don't work. Oh plus would my parking assistant keep working? How about my steering wheel controls if they don't work it's okay I just want to have the good bose sound stock sound with the Escalade just upgrade the radio with Bluetooth and make sure everything else is going to be working fine. I would so appreciate if you could reply back with a answer. you guys are one of the channels I watch for my radio information and I like that you and your partner are perfect partners because you guys look like good friends and hearing it in Spanish in English is a plus. Thank you will appreciate if I get an answer back thank you. On top of this I am ordering the antenna extension and single DIN radio kit do I have to buy the kit to run from the stock plugs to a aftermarket radio or does that come in the set with the pac setup

  • @LanceD188

    I have been everywhere including Pac customer support (ugh, they kinda suck) I installed a RP4.2-TY11 in my 2004 prius with JBL and nav, everything installed fine...except the JBL amp volume, when I first start the car will bounce between 33 all the way to max (60) up and down intermittently. (the jbl amp displays the volume going up and down on the Prius multi function display) if I make a call through the radio it will stop but, that just might be a coincidence, for the first 5 to 10 min it will do this and then just stop...until I turn off the car for a few min, then it will start all over again, just for the record, I already used the pac software to disable auto fade on the jbl amp. any help would be appreciated, One more thing, I reinstalled the OEM radio to test if it was something to do with my pioneer 3600bhs or the pac interface and the volume on the JBL amp does NOT do it with the oem radio. also, I updated the radiopro4 firmware prior to install.

      Personally when we beta tested this harness things did not always go as planned. I would return it and go with the TATO and the swirc, the old combo.

    • @LanceD188
      @LanceD188 8 років тому

      One more question, If I am not able to return the RadioPro4 (I no longer have the box and I bought it from crutchfield months before the install) could I still utilize the steering wheel control part and install either the TATO or Metra TYTO-1?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  8 років тому

      +Lance DiBitetto we use the pac but either will do. The wiring may be a little funny, but I don't see why not. Make sure the data wires are not connected on the rp4, they are not needed for the steering controls.

      Five Star Car Stereo Thanks for the reply. I decided to purchase the pac unit from amazon. It was around $100AUD ($86USD). Here its was around $250. Almost all swc units in Australia are over the $250 mark (for amp version). God do we get ripped off here lol.

      Will do. The only thing I'm a bit confused about is if a need a line output converter because of the bose amp.
      Yeah things in Australia are very expensive. I know of people who travel from Australia to the USA to purchase Christmas presents and save money then buying the same things here. Plus the lack of options is a killer.

    can these products improve the overall sound without the addition of a new radio. i have a 2014 challenger rt and i swapped the oem factory speakers with jl audio c2 6x9's in tje door and c2 6.5's in the rear. a local installer in my area suggest i add this product to "get a better signal to the speakers for improved full range sound". in short I want to know if this is true or if the installer is full of shit lol. There is not alot of information om the product on line.

      +Vincent Tooles these are just for replacing the radio. He may have been talking about the new Amp Pro. If you have the factory amplified system, it will let you add aftermarket amps. Otherwise these will not help you.

      Five Star Car Stereo thanks for replying to my comment. it was indeed the new amp pro and it was the best $254 I've even spent on car audio in my Challenger RT shaker. This product mimicked adding an afternarket radio to mu system and the difference in sound quality is night and day. With my stock radio when i turmed the volume above 32 the bass seemed to decrease due to the factory safegaurds. Now the bass increase coincides with the increase of volume. sounds phenomenl.
