    ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
    How to Stop Diarrhea in Dogs Naturally: Occasional Diarrhea
    So what can you do for your dog to stop occasional diarrhea?
    How to treat a dog with chronic diarrhea means using the most powerful healing method known, and that's fasting.
    So avoid giving food and fast your dog for 24 hours on water only. This will give the digestive tract a well deserved rest.
    If you have a very small dog that may be prone to hypoglycemia, give her a few licks of some raw honey every hour or as needed if she's a little trembly and feeling weak.
    Always have filtered or spring water available to drink.
    I also recommend giving your dog this homeopathic blend Dr Goodpet Diar-Relief or try Lambert Kay Pet Pectillin for Diarrhea. Both come as liquids and a good idea to have in the pet first aid cupboard for the first signs of upset. Links above.
    Introducing Food Again:
    After a 24 hour fast and the diarrhea has stopped, you can begin to introduce your dog to some meat or vegetable broth with a pinch of Himalayan Mountain salt. This will quickly bring your dog back up and lift their spirits.
    If your dog now seems fine having sipped on the broth several times over the next 6 hours, you can begin to introduce food again.
    Before reintroducing your dogs regular diet, make up your own pumpkin mash or buy in some Firm Up, add some of the broth you previously made to it along with some of your dogs regular food and serve.
    • 1/2 regular dog food
    • 1/4 Firm Up Pumpkin 4oz Add amount as directed on the packet but mix with water
    • 1/4 broth
    A meal or two of this should see your dog return to normal.
    How to Stop Diarrhea in Dogs Naturally: Persistent Diarrhea
    For dogs that suffer diarrhea all too often, I highly recommend Firm Up. It's a dried apple and pumpkin fiber digestive that's proven very effective with dogs and cats and they generally love the taste.
    In combination with the firm up, I highly recommend you help line your dogs entire digestive tract with slippery elm bark powder to help protect their digestive system.
    Acute Dog Diarrhea - Directions For How to Treat Dog Diarrhea:
    How to treat a dog with severe diarrhea when your dog gets diarrhea all too often, follow the directions for occasional diarrhea, fast your dog for 24hrs and then for large dogs, mix a 1 rounded Tbsp. of Slippery Elm with eight oz of cold water and bring to a boil on medium high heat. You then reduce heat to low and simmer for 3 minutes.
    Remove from heat and add 1 Tbsp. of raw honey. Give from 2 to 4 tsp. every 4 hrs. It works like a charm.
    For medium dogs, half the amount and for small dogs a quarter of the amounts given.

    Could dogs be allergic to slippery elm? I have food allergies and horrible year round environmental allergies and slippery elm made me itch so BAD all over.
    Our Greyhound has food allergies which we’re trying to figure out-but I’m almost paranoid to try her on anything now….

      This all comes down to gut health for you both. There needs to be fresh foods in the diet, probiotics and other supplements too. Fix the gut health and allergies fade away over time. This is a bigger issue than I can comment on here with no history. There is my One to One Dog Health Email Consultation and Support Service: healthydogforlife.com/one-to-one-total-dog-health-service/ which may be of great help to you both.

    Hi, I wonder is there a remedy for my pup's digestion. He'd been having diarrhea for weeks. It started with firm poop followed by a softer and even softer ones. Now his poop is somewhat good, as it started out with a good consistency, firm but not dry. However, at the very last of his business, came a small amount of watery diarrhea. I'm not sure what causes this. He's on a raw diet now and I just start giving him Firm Up, Mushroom complex, soil base probiotics, and Four Leaf Rover- Safe Sea.
    Should I wait for these supplements to work, as it might take some time for his guts to flourish from these nutrients, or is there anything else I should do?
    ((He doesn't have urgency to defacate and he is still very much active as we have a long walk with snaffari plus play time like fetch or tug everyday. Recently there were dayss when he skipped his first meal, so I just took the opportunity to fast him for 24 hrs and fed him again at night.))

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Рік тому +1

      Yes, if they skip, then fast. That's good.
      It takes time to build gut health. Always start new supplements/food slowly to get used to it.
      He'll get better. The protect is good here.

    Hey Dan I've been following up from my past questions if you remember my dog with a leaky gut issue and continuous diarrhea did blood tests and kept the going with probiotics but it still won't stop she puked today again and the stool is way too much more than she eats, I'm based in India yes I do have mint (pudhina leaves at home) what is the other homeopathy remedy you are recommending that should be best as I'm tired of going to each and every other vet in the city and this chronic diarrhoea won't stop from last 4 months she has lost a lot of weight since then and became very weak her rib cage can be seen now

      Difficult to determine from a YT perspective with limited information. However, fast to clear out the system, then begin with a broth, could be chicken, beef, lamb etc : ua-cam.com/video/laf3CHn8frU/v-deo.html
      Once stabilized on broth, then introduce only fresh foods: eggs, meats, meat on the bone, some lassy (no sugar added), part cooked and well crushed green veg (lots), fish and no dry foods or very little and just a little rice, mashed.
      No drugs, vaccines etc.
      So start agian anf build up. Also get some neem tree bark powder and add a half teaspoon to meals every other day.
      Keep water clean - spring water/mineral water or bottled water only.

      Then small meal if broth goes down well without issue. If things strat up again, may need to check with vet for diagnosis.

    I have a dog with IBD and have just got results back for sensitivities and the list is endless. I have been battling with a poorly dog for over 2 years with dirrohea and pain. Diet is virtually impossible to get right.... so it seems

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  2 місяці тому +1

      It is tricky but there's basic pricipals. The diet needs a large component of fresh foods in it for immune system improving nutrition then something to lower gut inflammation and something to provide lots of antioxidants which improve health.
      There's my diet ebook with three main diets inside to help do this: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/
      Or if you want a One to One Dog Health Email Consultation and Support Service: healthydogforlife.com/one-to-one-total-dog-health-service/
      Or just half what you feed now and replace with eggs, sardines, veg and some meats. Give Slippery Elm Bark Powder - amzn.to/3CbHXx0 on an empty stomach once daily and a soil based probiotic: amzn.to/3yoURqU to help improve digestion.
      Start everything small and slow first few weeks to help the gut transition.

    It's really disheartening that I can't find a decent video on dog food intolerances. This is one of them. Most an ad for your product, not really helpful for me or my dog.

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  2 роки тому +2

      It might be best to start from sratch with basic raw food diet and supplements to fix up the gut health first. This will lessen the intolerances.
      Probiotics are a must and if there's any yeast/itching/skin issues, use a soil based probiotic: amzn.to/3yoURqU
      Definitely add live enzymes: amzn.to/37MrINq
      and add some protect for the guts health: amzn.to/33P2P1i
      These 3 will help a lot. The intolerances are because of feeding the same stuff a long time and having leaky gut create intloerances. The above gets the healing ball rolling, diet is the important part going forward and needs to be fresh food based and less kibble.
