NOTHING justifies what Wanda did to the people of Westview. She is an evil villain, who by the end of the story evolved into a bigger threat. All for her selfish desires. Monica was bad too, a bigger hypocrite, for validating an enslaver. In reality, Director Hayward did everything within jurisdiction to protect the world from a well-known terrorist with a history of working with Ultron, murdering hundreds in Lagos, and violating international Sokovia Accords. They only made Hayward the villain, because they had to make the white man in power evil to allude to Donald Trump. As for Hayward shooting the twins, so what? Those shitty kids attacked his soldiers FIRST. It was very justified for Hayward to shoot those super powered FAKE beings. Wanda was never a hero, and we shouldn't root for her.
Of course it isn't justifiable. Sometimes I really don't get these movie critique echo chambers. It's like claiming infinity war is justifying mass genocide because Thanos is the quasi-protagonist and some people acknowledge his cause.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand she continued doing that in Multiverse of Madness. Killing everybody around just to be with kids who were not even real in the first place. Another great lesson.
The reason why the original Mulan is so good is because it's a story about a girl making a sacrifice to save her father and overcoming real obstacles in the army despite being a woman. She has real strengths and weaknesses and her entire motivation to be a soldier was just so her father wouldn't have to go and die in war. The new one or just these modern "strong female characters" give these females bad attitudes and make them unrealistically OP or downright unrelatable. They rarely have any weaknesses or flaws and clown the entire male cast every chance they get. Perfect example is Rey from the new Star Wars who is literally a mary sue because she has no flaws, never loses a fight, and clowns characters that should be more competent than her in certain areas...such as Luke in being a Jedi, Poe at being a pilot, and Han at even understanding the Millenium Falcon.
of course they had to change it; because filial piety toward a father figure; one of the main "themes" of the chinese legend, is the antithesis of the modern narcissistic me-first millennial trash our culture has produced in the past 20-25 years.
The funny thing with Finn was they kept putting him in scenario’s to die a heroes death, but they kept bringing him back despite having no real plan for his character.
I liked your reaction to this. To answer one of your questions, "Who is writing this $%^$?". Well the sad reality is very young people who have not had enough life experience to develop the wisdom necessary to intelligently write a deep and complex character and script. I have been a lighting tech & photographer for over 25 years and this is just one of those things I have noticed in the productions I have worked on. There is defiantly a correlation between the age of the writers and the depth of their characters and scripts. It is hard to put real life experience and the emotions it evokes if you have not gone threw and overcome deep personal challenges. Have a great day and keep doing what your doing.

Neither Sarah Connor nor Ridley would be considered woke. Both Terminator and Alien had well-written female leads with character flaws. That's literally the opposite of woke.

Agree.

That's quite the spin. Wanda was a hero while she was with the Avengers. Her character got a rewrite when Vision died.
Actually Anikin was(mostly) well written. Hell even Drinker made a video about explaining Anikin as a character.
