Recommenting my post here. Since you seem to be interested in the calculation: To heat 1 cup (approximately 236.6 milliliters) of water using a 500 kW oxygen iodine laser… First we must assume there are no losses, the losses would be minimal in that short of distance over that short of time so that is a safe assumption. specific heat capacity of water is approximately 4.186 joules per gram per degree Celsius (J/g°C) 236.6 milliliters of water~>convert it to grams. The density of water is ~1 gram per milliliter, so 236.6 milliliters water =236.6 grams Assuming room temp is around 20°C and we're heating to boil at 100°C that means an 80° temp increase Energy = mass of water*specific heat capacity*temperature increase Energy = 236.6 g *4.186 J/g°C *80°C ≈ 79,411.84 joules The laser is 500,000W In this case Energy = power*time so rearranging time=energy/power Time = 79,411.84 joules / 500,000 watts ≈ 0.159 seconds

Also, the reason it can’t get that cold is because matter is vibrating at a certain speed, directly related to heat. Hottest are plasma, with lots of energy and coldest are solids, with very little vibration. The more you cool a substance, the slower it vibrates, but you can’t actually stop it from vibrating. Therefore to get to absolute zero Kelvin, you would need to stop it from vibrating entirely witch is impossible. (And yes, I know I don’t put “degrees” before Kelvin because it is considered uncouth by the broader scientific community to do so)

of a superconductor.
The meissner effect is analogous to ‘quantum levitation’. Be aware, unlike Type II, Type I superconductors are impenetrable by magnetic fields.
Also, fun fact: magnetic fields (field lines) are of photons, their visibility is negligible because of lower frequency (not visible to the naked eye)!
I do hope this intrigues you.
„Der Physiker reagiert auf die Urknalltheorie“ ...
haha jaa
HAHAHA
haha:) Warum übersetzt UA-cam jetzt eigentlich die Titel englischsprachiger Videos? Wenn man drauf klickt, muss man doch eh Englisch verstehen, um was davon zu haben. Total überflüssig.
I love Richard Feynman. I’ve read “Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Feynman” 3 times. His quest for Tannu Tuva was always bittersweet. Thanks for reminding me of it.
So scientists can be extremely hot...
ur like a real sheldon bro.. cud see the excitement in ur face wen u talkin about physics ... awesome!
Suggestion: You should look into reacting and breaking down Warhammer 40k content and videos every once in a while. There is a great place to start here on youtube. Look into the Astartes videos based on spacemarines, there is combat, space travel and mystic arts. Warhammer 40k is based a lot on what it would be like in real physics for it to work. Great content keep it up.
When I was watching the scene with cup heating up I assumed it was metal when I was watching it😂
So idk what u said - i just thought you were cute - i feel like Penny, who's falling for the scientist!
Great video young Arnold S.! xD
React to the scene where quicksilver saves everyone from professor X mansion exploding
Clarke's book, 'Profiles of the Future,' that came out in paperback in the early 60s is pretty good too. About half of the way through that book he predicts tele-work over the phone lines and by extension the Internet.
You should react to Baki Hanna ! The poison oxygen episode
Ah yes if I somehow get a 500,000 watt laser I’ll make sure not to try cooking my ramen noodles with it
Man looks like channing Tatum if he was a nerd
Can you react to scene from Agents of SHIELD with FitzSimmons on the bottom of the ocean
“If you have oxygen laser heating - don’t try to heat your noodles”
Me: okey okey I am turning it off
