I am having the same problem. I wished i could find an HONEST Diesel man like YOU. They are hard to find. A lot of them are Legal Thieves and just "Change Parts" until it runs again. sadly. And forget DEALERS,,yeah, they LIE,,A LOT and you end up with a Huge Bill. Have a great weak Sir and Be Safe
@@falconfixer71 NOPE, seems not too many people KNOW about Cummins, or want an arm and a leg. Got over $6K in it and still have a "Check Engine Light" So sick of people screwing us around like this crap, Especially Dealers.
@@trailsendfarm141 Bummer. Mine has the same issue as the truck in the video, so it doesn’t trigger a CEL Just found this video last night though. Maybe I’ll copy his repair, or cleaning, soon
Hey man great video my trucks an 08 6.7 and I’m thinking the same thing is going on what do you think fixed it the banjo bolt washer or clean the injectors
I have a 2017 ram 3500 with only 27k miles. I installed a banks monster ram intake and grid heater delete. Now it starts and seems to run fine but as it warms up a little it will just die. I'm getting a p0087 low fuel rail pressure code. It's asking for 5k psi and actual is only about 1200psi at idle. Im thinking one of the injector feed tubes became loose during the install? It acts almost exactly like this.
@@cincydieselrepair6893 I torqued them with a torque wrench when I put them in. I fired up the enginuity and actual and desired rail are almost the same. The duty cycle is between 2-6% except when I rev it which it goes to 99.99. Does this still sound like the fuel tubes?
I think I would be looking at the fuel control actuator on the pump. There might be a function in there where you can demand the FCA completely open or completely closed.
Great info, I have a 2004 3500 5.9 it’s boggs out when you get on it just dies I have to back off it and take it easy, hard cranking issues sometimes I’ve replaced crankshaft sensor, fuel pressure relief valve on rail, FCA sensor on CP3 pump and fuel pressure sensor on the rail truck got 185k miles great truck just , I’m no diesel mechanic hard to find one in my area… help 😫
I got a 05 Cummins that has been just shutting off randomly. If I go to restart it with out resetting the key it won’t start. But as soon as I reset key it starts. No codes
I’m having same issue on my 99 vp44 5.9. When I drive it it’ll cut the engine off but leave radio on and lights etc. I can put it in Nerutral and start it again and it’ll go for a few mins but keep cutting off
Excellent video! And you explain well. Thank you!
Great diagnostics!

So if its not the o-rings, what would you have looked at next?
Did you remove, clean and retorque the fuel tubes?

I can't tell what it is that you did... 🤔
I watched it twice, and all you did was take it apart and put it back together...

Ever find the issue?
I know this is an older video but im stumped and could really use your help if you have time and are willing.
Absolutely willing to help. If you have Facebook message me on the Cincy Diesel Repair page.
@cincydieselrepair6893 I sent you a message a couple of days ago on your Facebook page. I may not have the right page.
Would you happen to know part number or size for the Cummings washers that go on banjo bolts. ? Thank you.
3963983 I believe is the Cummins number. I don't have them in front of me right now.

Most likely you have the same issue as in the video or a bad FCA
Ya kinda seems like it. Was just thinking it was being commanded to shut off being it just crank and crank if I didn’t reset the key
I also had a p0713 code before this ever happened. Not sure if they are related?
